Caption This: “Chinese red-faced after photo fakery goes global “

Government officials in a rural corner of China wanted to inform residents they were inspecting a new road.
Instead, it appears they have gained global ridicule and notoriety as the stars of what is being described as a contender for the worst-doctored photograph in internet history.

Nope. I can’t handle fried foods anymore. Plus, my bro told me how to lose weight, the Marine style. I also don’t indulge in anything with HFCS.
NoThreat2U wrote:

NoThreat2U wrote:
HFCS is no joke… when they do oncology research what do you think they grow the tumors in?
@ coldwarrior:
All around.
@ brookly red:
I have what might be considered a severe aversion to HFCS. I only buy Hunts ketchup, which doesn’t have it. And also the Sierra Mist Natural is real sugar. Just the thought of something being turned into a sweetener freaks me out. I get so pissed when I see the commercials saying how the body can’t tell the difference. Yeah, maybe it can’t, until the damage is done. And I did not know that about oncology research. Tell me more…or even post some links for me. I would like to know about this.
@ NoThreat2U:
What is the Marine style weight loss program?
@ brookly red:
i avoid it.

@ NoThreat2U:
at ketchup level it doenst matter…at soda level it does.
@ Dolphin:
Number one….no soda. The body cannot process HFCS. That is the main thing. Number two is the same as anything…burn more than you take in. My brother found a book that, it is a pseudo diet…eating for your blood type. He has told me things I should avoid and things I should have more of. The funny thing is, his wife is allowed all the stuff he isn’t and vice versa. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but the HFCS shit really freaks me out. Go read the ingredients in your condiments…mustard, ketchup. It’s in every damn thing. No way in hell is that healthy.
Dolphin wrote:
eat less calories than you burn every day until optimal weight is reached.
@ brookly red:
I have saved that link for further perusal. Thank you.
@ coldwarrior:
Maybe if it was ONLY ketchup level, but when you add in everything else we eat, it matters. That shit is in everything.
NoThreat2U wrote:
well soda is just evil in a can. artificially carbonated drinks (beer is safe) leech calcium from your bones it’s not good for any one but women who drink it are just asking for osteoporosis.
@ coldwarrior:
It isn’t always that simple though. I have a thyroid problem. It is called Hashimoto’s. When my thyroid is not working at full function, the gland itself swells up to try and pump out more hormones. But it can’t maintain that, so it shrivels up again and really messes with my metabolism.
@ brookly red:
I am more of an iced tea drinker….homemade with teabags.
NoThreat2U wrote:
I ain’t saying a word.
@ NoThreat2U:
I only drink dt soda and that is with a mixed drink, other than that it is unsweet tea (cold and hot) and water. My pitfall(s) are carbs -- love me my bread and pasta. I don’t like katchup, mustard, mayo etc -- never have.

Hashimotos ? avoid fruit and HFCS. Increase you whole grain intake, avoid fats especially dairy & red meat, increase you fish intake & ask your doctor if iodine (like that found in seaweed) is right for you.
@ coldwarrior:
Nothing much man. I have been out of sight for a while because I do a ridiculous amount of baseball with my 2 boys, as well as umpiring. It was a fun little league for my one team. They took the chamionship out of a 12 team pool. We outscored 5 other teams in 5 playoof games something like 73-7. 58 strike outs, etc.
These boys were going nuts. It was fun.

/of course they did you were umpiring… LOL
@ brookly red:
Of course.
@ brookly red:
Cant do the red meat thing either. At least not until I get the blood work done to see why I have so much iron in my body. It turns out that the iron is what is giving me liver problems. Next time I go see the liver specialist I will probably ask him what an appropriate diet would be for me. It isn’t that I am over weight, it’s just that one thing can cause one problem and something else can cause another. It is a pain in the ass to be honest with you.
Formercorpsman wrote:

I can honestly say, my fellas would rather be out playing on the diamond than in front of the tv at any time they can. In fact, they are 12&10, and we did not have any kind of gaming system until this past Christmas.
We do the whole travel, etc. I do make them take down time in the winter, and August though. I don’t want them to burn out on it. But, the league is always giving me a hard time about my “fan Club” of parents.
@ brookly red:
copy that.

@ brookly red:
You are about the tenth person to mention that to me. I asked the liver specialist about maybe a detox and mentioned the milk thistle. He told me not to get too ahead of myself…at least not until he gets all the blood work. See, he ordered the bloodwork because he figured my PCP wouldn’t know exactly what was needed. This doc was very thorough and I just appreciate the hell out of him.

After that, do the reseach on the holistic side of if and propose back to him that you do both RX & holistic if he agrees. Go prepared to prove your case. Grain=death. That shit is lethal. It messes up a person’s normal insulin response, makes people fat, and is just plain garbage-- a filler, something one can eat to keep from starving to death, but not more. The only way I will eat anything made of grain is if it is beer-- or if I am dying of starvation and there are no bunny-rabbits or squirrels or wild hogs to kill. Meat, animal fat, more animal fat-- and veggies occasionally as a vehicle for butter
Stepping out for a bit. Will beeeee back soon!

Cheetos? If I want something that tastes like cheese, I will eat…you guessed it…CHEESE. I know it costs money, but it contains protein (which my body likes) and calcium (ditto).
