Roubini proclaims the end of the Obama Boom

Filed under Economy, unemployment at August 8th, 2011 - 11:30 am

The greatest economic recovery since the colonization of Earth by the Pleiadeans 150,000 years ago is coming to a halt. About a year ago, Dr. Doom: Nouriel Roubini, who in 2005 predicted the economic collapse of 2007-2008 made a bold prediction. He claims that the Obama Boom was fragile and weak. Roubini also predicted that the US would fall back into recession due to unsustainable Debt. Recent data is showing that once again, Dr. Doom appears to be correct!

Influential economist Nouriel Roubini has warned hopes that the recent slowdown was temporary have been dashed and predicted the US and other advanced economies will have a second “severe recession  ”.

Writing in Monday’s Financial Times, the founder of Roubini Global Economics said: “America’s recent data have been lousy: there has been little job creation, weak growth and flat consumption and manufacturing production. Housing remains depressed. Consumer, business and investor confidence has been falling, and will now fall further.”

[...]

“Since this is a crisis of solvency as well as liquidity, orderly debt restructuring must begin,” said Roubini.

Two years ago the Obama Boom was declared. Media financial writers like Daniel Gross claimed this would be the greatest economy ever. The media kept pushing the Obama Boom theme to create false confidence. It appears their efforts couldn’t change the reality. Debt was what got us into this crisis, incurring more debt would not get us out.  Dr. Doom warned everyone a year ago about the weakness of the Obama Boom, and the media dismissed and attacked him. Now reality will kill the Obama Boom lie and it us that will suffer!

Yea, sadly even the blind were able to see that the Obama Boom was a myth the second the Fifth Column Treasonous Media pronounced it’s existence.

I realize that terms like “recession” are technical in nature and are, thus, quantifiable. In practical terms, however, not only did the recession never end, the economy has worsened for the American People ever since Obama took office. Some may wish to cloak themselves in statistics while claiming that the economy has improved, but we all know differently.

Bottom line: in terms of economics, would I like to go back to the summer of ’08? Hell yeah. I’m sure I’m not alone.

As bad as the economy is, and it is, there is a way out of this. Keep educating you neighbors, friends, colleagues, and foes about the virtues of the free market system. The next Reagan is out there, and our side will win. The American People have had enough of this schmuck, and had enough of the 5th column treasonous media to boot.

Last Thursdays drop of 512 points saw 2.7 trillion dollars disappear into thin air. The Fed has been pumping unimaginable amounts into the major brokerage houses in a rather futile attempt to halt the markets downward slide. A few minuets ago the market was down -351 point, right now the FED is pumping money into those same brokerage house like their is no tomorrow to try to halt today’s slide. How many trillions of dollars are disappearing even while you read this?

I think it will be close. We have an edge in that Obama has been an unmitigated disaster across all demographics. Almost everyone has been hurt in the last three years, and surely not all of them will be stupid or foolish. But Obama has a hard-core demographic that can’t be swayed. 40% of the population votes for a Democrat, no matter who that Democrat is. That plus cheating could bring Obama over the line.

For some time now, residents of some US cities have noted occasional incidents of seemingly random, racially motivated violence in which young Black males are involved. The hot weather and bad economy seem to be combining to generate a small but possibly significant uptick this year. The national media are doing their best to avoid looking too closely at this disturbing phenomenon, and perhaps for good reason.

Entitlements dont have to be yanked away. They just have to be reformed in how they are administered, what the eligibility requirements for receiving them are and how fraud and waste issues are approached.

Given that they are taking from me (again!) to give to the wealthy, I could see a means-test being applied. That might be enough to get SS and Medicaid solvent, but what about the rest of the Welfare State? We’re paying for 80 years of New Deal institutions that never made much sense. There is actually a workable solution for all that welfare crap as well. Make it a mandatory condition of welfare that every recipient must perform a 40 hour work week (i.e. 160 hours per month)of low level civil servant work. Kill 2 birds with one stone that way, (hell maybe three) eliminate a large number of civil servant positions, get something in return for that welfare money, and hell maybe even increase the quality of that civil servant work performed.

    @ Da_Beerfreak:

    Good to know. Thanks.

Iron Fist is correct about entitlements. We think of Europe, and to a lesser degree Canada as welfare states simply because of the health care systems.

But the United States is just as generous, if not more so. I worked for a computer company that tracked government dollars paying for the childcare for low income people. We have foodstamps, Section 8, tuition aid, all kinds of programs to give the poor a step up, but which usually just ends up as generational welfare.

Not only do we have an entire class of citizens dependent on the government, but we also have an entire strata of poverty awareness people and government workers whose sole jobs is to extract more money from the rich to give it to ‘the poor’. And if you give it away, someone will take it.

I owned Section 8 housing before. It drove me to drink. Poor in America is not waht poor is anywhere else in the world.

All of this free money has to stop. All of the people giving away the free money have to be gone too. This can’t go on.

Time for Zero to be on. I’m going to put my bets on peeved.

That is exactly it. That is what I am referring to when I speak of the “Parasite Class”. A lot of those governmnet functionaries are banking good salaries for doing nothing that adds to society. They don’t help the “poor” get a leg up. They are part of the whole diseased structure that traps people in generational poverty, and provides for millions of reliable Democrat votes. That is why the Democrats don’t want to do anything about it. It is no coincidence thaty after 40 years of Johnson’s Great Society the same percentage of the population is in poverty. There was never any intention of moving them upward, just in fostering dependance.

    @ Nevergiveup:

Dear God is there no one in this administration giving President Rectal Opening decent advice? Does it occur to these clowns that it’s the sons and daughters of those terrorist TEA Party people that make up our military. Despite what that protozoa brained shithead from the Ho-ffingtonPuff said.

That is exactly right. The majority of Americans want a balanced budget and a smaller more responsible gov’t. We are the main stream in this country,
zero and his cabal are the enemy, fringe traitors out to destroy 230 years of American exceptionalism.

    @ chickadee:

I can’t wait to see what the Democratic Propaganda Steno Pool will have to say about this. I think I can list a few talking points:

    1. The President today finally gave the TEA Party the severe dressing down it deserved.

    2. The President today gave Standard & Poor’s a dressing down for its capricious downgrading of the American economy.

    3. The President today gave Republicans a long-overdue dressing down for their failure to compromise on the debt ceiling, because they were listening to a fringe segment of their constituents.

What, does anyone think, will be the MSM’s “catch phrase” of the day (i.e., “Kabuki Theater” or “Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic).

  158. 159 | August 8, 2011 2:13 pm

It’s not looking good folks, at this time last Thursday the market was only down -250 points. It’s already down -450 today I cant even imagine how much further it can go.

  159. 160 | August 8, 2011 2:16 pm

Being against the Tea Party is not “being against the American public” anymore than being against the Democrat party is. Sheesh.

It is cheap, diversion politics however for the POTUS and nearly 1/2 of the Government to blame a minority representation.

Great points. It is absurd to blame the Tea Party. The Tea Party in the House couldn’t even get Cut, Cap and Balance through the Senate, let alone get zero to sign it. This debacle is wholly owned by zero and the dims. But the mfm will continue spouting the lies. It will be the “Tea Party Downgrade.”
