Roll up for The Tragical History Tour of all 57 States on The STIMUBUS!
To be fair, that’s the tour bus from when Obama was campaigning for President Senator Governor Mayor Teacher Community Activist, and we apologize for the innocuous snark – NOT. It appears that he’s envious of someone else’s bus tour (whose name we won’t mention, but her initials are Sarah Palin).
Doug Ross @ Journal posted what is purportedly a sketch of Obama’s ScenicBruiser, but it’s intuitively obvious to the casual observer that the image was cropped [view original here].

The original image was definitely cropped as it eliminated the trailer labeled “Fox” at the rear. At first we thought that it might be Michelle’s private trailer, but everyone knows that her caboose is much bigger. Therefore it must refer to FOX news, installed as a design afterthought, with a hydraulic pin to make it easy to disconnect.
Speaking of industrial design and oversized cabooses, it’s time for

And, I’ll take me some Allen West too, but he ain’t running.

I’ve seen recently on a cable show that the “bless his heart” reference is actually subtle southern code for “he’s an idiot”, but ‘bless his heart’ for being one. We have southern posters here, is that wrong?
@ ThreeHundred:
No, that is correct. Ann Richardson used that phrase against GWB in their last dust-up. It implies pity for somebody who isn’t up to speed. Definitively condescending.
@ Mike C.:
It was a reference to Perry on tonights’ (ok, probably late last night for you) ‘Red Eye’ half-time report by Andy Levy.
I suspected it was a slam.

Well, time to make a run for the office, so back in a bit.
So far, it appears that the housing office is staffed with people who weren’t capable of working anywhere else…
@ lobo91:
Well, assuming you get your own place, it will probably serve. Mine was okay. Nowhere near as nice as the one I had in Maracaibo, but it worked, so what the hell? There was a cleaners on the ground floor, which was damned convenient, and a little store just up the street for buying odds and ends like chips, cokes and such. And the shore side of the building was still pockmarked with .50 BMG bullet holes from when the Marines were bobbing around offshore during GW I, teaching the Iraqis to keep their heads down.

@ Mike C.:
It’s obvious that the concept of planning ahead is totally foreign to them. They knew that there were 8 of us flying in on Sunday, so we would need temporary quarters until we finished inprocessing, which takes until Wednesday morning. Thus, we would need permanent quarters on Wednesday.
We showed up in the housing office today, and they acted like nobody told them we were coming. Never mind the fact that they’re the same people who were there on Sunday, and they use the same schedule every week.
@ lobo91:
Have they been in Kuwait too long or are they liberals?
Lost wrote:
I think they’re just stupid.
Next month should be fun. They’re expecting something like 300 people in. If they can’t handle 8, that should be interesting to watch…
@ lobo91:
Just don’t get caught in the middle!
Also make sure that you are 100% settled by then because it looks like these guys spend more time drawing a salary than doing any work.
IIRC, you said these guys are military?!!?
@ lobo91:
I feel bad for those 300. Have they designated any open space for tent set up?
Oy, I can just picture the disaster this could be.
@ Lost:
They could really use some experience former senior NCOs to run some of these offices.
This isn’t rocket science. People always arrive on Sunday. The transportation office should send the housing office a list of names of who’s coming, and where they’re going to be working, and they should have all the arrangements made. It should take about 5 minutes for someone to walk in there, sign a form, get a key, and be on their way.
@ Lost:
I already know that they don’t have space for them, because they only have about 100 empty rooms now.
Tents aren’t an option. We’re in town, not on a military installation. They’re apparently trying to find more space (meaning lease more buildings) but there isn’t much available.
@ lobo91:
How are the other 7 talking it?
Are they also military?
@ lobo91:
100 empty rooms and they couldn’t place you until now!?!
If I ever need a job, I know where to go. I could probably do it without half of the personnel they have there too.
I hope they don’t do the lazy option and next month when the 300 arrive they turn 2 people rooms into 6 people rooms..
@ Lost:
About half are. I don’t think anyone’s too impressed.
I’d really like to get settled, since I have to start work tomorrow morning, and I’m one of the lucky people who has a 2 hour commute each way.
@ lobo91:
Are you relying on the transport office for the commute or do you have a car? camel?
@ Lost:
It reminds me of a union operation.
When we got here on Sunday, we found that the TV, DVD player, stereo and cable box didn’t work. It didn’t take much to figure out that the problem was the power strip that they’re all plugged into. It has a burned out fuse.
We went over there to see if they had a fuse, or another power strip.
We had to fill out a work order. It took until yesterday for someone to come and look at it. They dropped off a new power strip.
It only has 3 outlets, though.
Lost wrote:
They have buses that go around and pick people up to take them to work, which is why they try to lease entire buildings, rather than having to drive all over town to get people.
They cancelled the bus service that goes up to where I’m going to be, though, and issued vans to the different sections. It’ll be like a car pool, basically.
Someone got killed driving up there last week, apparently. Head on collision at 7am.
@ lobo91:
@ lobo91:
Sounds like one big face-palm situation.
Head on at 7am? That’s awful! Wear a seat-belt or take the camel. I hope your roommate is cool and that you settle in quickly.

Well, I’m off to visit housing again.

This may not meet the legal definition of defamation,
but it is defamatory in any other sense.
Good Morning Blogmocracy! Today is another
glodiousinglorious day in the reign of Emperor Barack Hussein I, Pasha of the United States and Defender of theFaithUmmah! There are 447 Days until the 2012 Presidential Election! Well, the big news today appears to be that DoJ (the Department of JustUs) has promoted the people responsible for Operation Fast and Furious. That should answer any questions anyone might have as to whether the DoJ considers it to have been a success or not. The goal was never the stated goal of tracking weapons to large purchasers. It was to manipulate statistics on weapons in Mexico to try and push for more gun control in the United States. It failed in that only in that it was unmasked and no one now believes the phony stats that DoJ cooked up. Congress should defund the ATF over this. Completely. We don’t need government agencies that try and create problems that they can then “solve” by restricting the freedom of law abiding Americans. But, of course, they won’t. Certain segments of the Republican leadership are as for gun control as Sarah Brady, they just don’t say so lest they be voted out of office. They are quite content to see ATF do things like this, though they are probably displeased that they got caught at it.@ RIX:
Oh, I’d say it meets the legal definition of defamation as well as the moral one. Chuck could be sued, but what’s the point? He doesn’t have anything worth taking. You could take the revenue from LGF, and that might buy you coffee (or cheetos), but it won’t pay your lawyers.
savage wrote:
Pretty much the crux of the matter with you isn’t it?

I caught that too. I suspect that that is a lot of people’s problem with both Bachmann and Palin. And that includes people on the Left who are supposedly “feminists”…

Yes, but just imagine the hurt expression on Chuckie-poo’s face when Pam and Roberts lawyers showed up and impounded all of Chuckie computers and closed LGF for good.
Speaking of the Magickal Misery Bus Tour, turns out the buses were made in Canada. So much for creating American jobs. Like John Kerry having his yaght built in New Zeeland, Obama doesn’t choose to contribute to the American economy when he buys big-ticket items either. Typical liberals.
