Tonight the GOP Presidential Debates will be held at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. The CNBC “Your Money, Your Vote” debate will last for 90 minutes. CNBC should live stream, and here is a handy dandy channel finder as well.

Participants: Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum

On the issues: Michelle Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum
(Funny thing, everyone has an “issues” page but Newt has a “solutions” page, lol)

Who is the moderator that is yelling at the debaters? They want a true debate, then act like it. I was on the debate team in high school and the rules were really strict.

the ’6 o’clock position or ’6′ is a reference to a cardinal direction in flight from the pilots point of view. a pilots 6 is the rear end of the airplane.

the 12 oclock is straight ahead.

The reason all this is relevant is that both Axelrod and Daley have a history of smearing political opponents by digging up claims of sexual misconduct against them.

John Brooks, Chicago’s former fire commissioner, filed a lawsuit against Daley six months ago claiming Daley threatened to smear him with sexual harassment accusations if Brooks didn’t resign. He resigned — and the sexual harassment allegations were later found to be completely false.– Coulter

I thought Palin did a fairly decent job of carrying her religion through an election cycle. Bachmann I like but while smart she does seem misinformed on some issues to me. Someone like her is going to have to express a strong tolerance for other religious views and communicate that national decisions on abortion etc, will be made on consensus not on her personal religious view. A fair hearing for all.

Yeah, I learned how to set type on the Compugraphic 3000 in school and my first in-house job was as designer for a national chain of record stores and we had a Compugraphic in the art department with a girl who operated it for the designers. Since I knew how to use it, and I was a picky shit, I waited until she was on break and set my own type. I was so anal though it still wasn’t good enough. After waxing the strip of type, I would cut apart all of the letters in a headline or sub-head and use tweezers to manually kern everything. All that work for some two-bit advertisement in some newspaper for a sale on Bon Jovi and Charlie Sexton albums.

Ha… I took a Phototypesetting ROP class on one of those monsters back in the late 70′s. Learned to do the whole 4 page lay-up for book and magazine publishing. Never used a single bit of what I learned.

Hey did you shoot the negatives and make the plates too? That used to be my favorite part.

Romney would do that as well. He’s connected to the Saudis and Gulf State Arabs. He would be Bush III. No thanks. Romney likes Islam and has praised it constantly. He doesn’t think Sharia law is a threat. I’ve had to live through 21 years of Liberal/Progressive Economic rule. The sad part is that after Reagan, Clinton after 94 was the most Economically and Fiscal Conservative.

If Romney is the nominee, I am done with the GOProgressive Party. I already hate its Pro-Muslim Democracy foreign polciy. Now the GOP will nominate a Leftist? No thanks.

I did shoot my layouts on a non-repro graph board with a stat camera and create film for our silkscreen department to make the posters for the record stores.

One day in 1989 or 90, all of us designers walked into the office to find Apple Mac IIci computers on all of our drafting tables (which was a complete surprise). We each took turns with tutorials learning QuarkXpress and had a week to learn the software while the others took up the slack with traditional methods. It was a crash course for sure. It’s funny, I haven’t used Quark for nearly 7 or 8 years now. Everything is done with InDesign these days.

    gone.

Both football coach Joe Paterno and president Graham Spanier are out at Penn State in the wake of a disturbing child sex abuse scandal involving a former assistant coach.

Paterno said in a statement Wednesday he would retire after the season, but the university’s board of trustees met Wednesday night and decided Paterno would not be allowed to continue as coach effective immediately. Defensive coordinator Tom Bradley has been named interim coach.

Spanier chose to resign Wednesday and will be replaced temporarily by provost Rodney Erickson.

Paterno has been besieged by criticism since Jerry Sandusky, his former defensive coordinator, was charged over the weekend with 40 criminal counts of molesting eight young boys between 1994 and 2009 through his charitable foundation for at-risk youths, The Second Mile. Sandusky is free on bail and has a Dec. 7 court hearing.

One key question has been why Paterno and other top school officials didn’t go to police in 2002 after being told a graduate assistant saw Sandusky assaulting a boy in a school shower.

Paterno says he should have done more. Spanier has said he was not told the details of the attack

For all of you that want to follow Romney off a cliff.

Mitt Romney’s spending “cuts” would expand the federal budget.

Presenting his fiscal plan in USA Today last week, Mitt Romney said he wants to “eliminate every government program that is not absolutely essential.” That sounds good until you realize that Romney’s goal of cutting $500 billion from projected federal outlays in 2016 would, at best, leave the budget about 8 percent higher than it is now and only 11 percent lower than it would be without any attempt to restrain spending.

    Wake up people!

If this happened in my workplace I would tell my boss and he would handle it. If we have an obvious crime it is expected that the person will call 911 and the front desk. Not to handle it personally.
