Robert Spencer takes questions from Muslim callers on 2GB radio in Australia
Q&A session after Robert Spencer speech, Melbourne, Nov 26 2011
Typically after an event like this, the Q&A session is a bunch of people who grab the mic and give their own mini-lectures, often forgetting to even up-talk at the end to make it appear like a question.
Not in this case. The questions are interesting, important, and I’m sure, questions that most of us have wondered at one point or another.
Thanks again to the Q Society of Australia for this opportunity.
With thanks to Vlad Tepes

Robert Spencer is a good guy!
OT: Reading Newt’s book called “A Nation Like No Other: Why American Exceptionalism Matters.”
Newt’s book came out in June 2011, by the way.
Thought I would pop in and keep you company Eliana
And how are you this lovely evening?
@ NoThreat2U:
Hi, I’m fine!
How are you doing?
Our problem, dear friends, is that the unserious are becoming a major force in the formation of policy and they’re fortified by unserious minions, such as OWS, who act as combination sounding boards and think tanks. The unserious press in the form of the infotainment cabal that includes everyone from Brian Williams to Jon Stewart to the shrews on shows such as “the View”, dutifully keep the information flowing – always on cue and always exquisitely coordinated. They don’t need talking points memos or real organization; with twitter and Facebook, it’s the embodiment of the Borg and the best part is that they’re all doing it quite voluntarily, even joyfully. They’re told precisely what they want to hear and regurgitate on cue.
As a country, as a society, we stink of decay and weakness. No insult is to great for us to absorb in the interest of “diversity”. We bow down to 14th Century barbarians as though they were majestic, even adopting their customs and religion thus breaking centuries-old customs handed down by our forefathers. In the interest of understanding, we’ve re-written our own history and beat our breasts in regret for the monumental achievements of our forbears.
I look about and wish I were 88 instead of 58, for I would prefer not seeing what I believe will be the demise of “the last, best hop for mankind”. I my minds eye, I see a malevolent darkness that will descend upon mankind and the true meaning of “The Four Horsemen” painfully crystalizes in my mind.
No, war is not the worst fate that can befall mankind; the loss of the past on which we build our future is. There’s been an unbroken chain, centuries old, well predating the United States, we call Western civilization. That chain is in ill repair and is under attack.
For all of his foibles, Newt Gingrich said, in one of his lectures, that an entire civilization can be lost in one generation and it vanishes with remarkable quickness and irretrievability. I see the beginnings of that loss on a daily basis and it gives me nothing but dread about the future.
2012 is not a year i’ll welcome, it’ll be one that i’ll approach cautiously, and with a jaded eye.
Happy New Year, indeed. It will not be pretty.
Just got back from a great evening dinner and fine discussions with Kirly and Alberta Oil Peon!
@ Macker:
Nice!!
@ Eliana:
I am doing well. Just sitting here trying to adjust to this cold weather. Brrrrrr……
@ NoThreat2U:
Yeah, it’s definitely chilling down.
Where’s global warming when we need it, eh?
@ MacDuff:
It aint over til it’s over. Have faith brother.
On DoD, people are getting a chuckle out of the fact that CJ wonders why the GOP debates haven’t covered his favorite (obsessively favorite) issues of the day like evolution.
@ Eliana:
The house is obviously warm since I am the only one shivering in the cold. I just can’t seem to adapt to the weather changes like I did when I was younger. lol I could go for some global warming. Preferably in the Bahamas maybe??? lol
@ NoThreat2U:
I’m feeling more optimistic these days (slightly, anyway).
@ NoThreat2U:
Maybe a Cruise in the Bahamas or something like that.
@ Eliana:
I refuse to give up on my country. Just because the leftist and other assorted whackos are making more noise, that doesn’t mean there are more of them than there are of us. Nope, not buying that at all. And yes, a cruise would be great right about now
Eliana wrote:
The moderators will get around to that during the debates with Obama right now they are concentrating on the GOP nominees inflicting as much damage on each other possible and staying off the subject of Obama’s failed policies.
If he’s pissed he should fire off an e-mail to Sawyer or Stephy.
@ NoThreat2U:
America has weathered some tough times. We’ll survive Obama and the damage the left has done here. America survived Jimmy Carter (and I think a number of people thought the American Dream had died during his presidency because of high mortgage interest rates or something).
@ John Difool:
I had forgotten (since I don’t visit LGF at all anymore) that CJ lives and breathes the importance of beliefs in evolution (or we’re all going to go back to living in caves or something).
CJ has Creationophobia.
@ Eliana:
I believe that every now and then something comes along which makes us all think This Is The End. I don’t see that. When people ask me about the preposterous Mayan 2012 prediction, I tell them that yes, i believe the world as we know it will end. “as we know it” is the key. We will dump Teh Won and start to straighten things out around here.
Eliana wrote:
He may think he believes this but yet he can hardly bring himself to say anything bad these days about a religion that wants everyone to go back to living in the Stone Age.
The People of America will be taking an intelligence test on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. The world will be watching.
I especially liked two of Spencer’s turns of phrase – one referring to “Fisking” (H/T Charles) and another he describes as a fool’s errand.
He’s a pretty sharp cookie, and a damn effective speaker.
Great post 1389, thank you!
@ NoThreat2U:
Let’s hope so!!
Otherwise, Zero will go right back to his mega-trillion dollar spending sprees.
@ Brick:
Agreed!
NoThreat2U wrote:
If Obama ends up winning in November of next year theres a slight possibly I may start hoping the Mayans are right about the following month.
@ Da_Beerfreak:
I am already studying hard for that test.
@ Eliana:
I dont believe his poll numbers are as high as they say. People are disgusted with him and his whole regime of lying and collaborating with our enemies. Not every powerful person in America is a democrat. Our side has some power too. Someone WILL step up and he will be defeated. Even people that voted for him will not do so again. The time has come for a fiscon government.
@ John Difool:
Maybe Zero is what the Mayans were warning about except that they were off by a month.
@ John Difool:
That is the other side of the coin. If he were to win, God forbid, the world will end because one of our new friends like maybe….Iran? will bomb our asses.
NoThreat2U wrote:
Our test, our time, is upon us. The world is in a state of crisis, chaos and flux not seen since before WWII and I’ve seen no indication that this fact is recognized en masse and certainly no indication of any solutions.
In our fragile state a nuclear 9/11 could bring us to our knees; we have tentative (at best) leadership and a population that include a substantial number of people who have swallowed the messiah bit hook line and sinker and may support a suspension of elections in the event of a national emergency.
If we learned anything from 9/11 it’s to expect the impossible.
@ MacDuff:
If the Dems don’t want elections in 2012, then the Republicans win by default.
@ MacDuff:
We are still a free and armed citizenry. We will protect ourselves if need be. Maybe it could be called a civil war, but for a different purpose this time.
Good night, all. Sweet dreams.
@ MacDuff:
Sleep well kind sir
@ NoThreat2U:
So long as we have a Second Amendment, which some of our more brain dead politicians are trying to take away from us, this is true.
@ Flyovercountry:
The Constitution must be protected at all costs. That is why we must fight tooth and nail against the UN too. We do not recognize their authority over American citizens who are protected by the Constitution. Our inalienable rights are protected by it. I have the right to bear arms, I have the right to worship how I want, I have the right to say what I want. As long as I am not physically hurting anyone with my stances…”feelings” not included, the UN can’t tell me shit.
I thought selrahC banned this guy from the interwebs?

Beck and Savage really have OUR nutjobs all worked up.
Great job assh*les!
Goodnite all.
MacDuff wrote:
Please. This talk of suspending elections is just silly.
There will be no suspension of elections.
The good news is, things will get better once the adults are back in charge.
NoThreat2U wrote:
Once we have armed conflict in the streets, and its protracted at all, society is already, at the least, on hold. The goal of our enemies is to cripple us permanently and, like I said, they haven’t had an opportunity like this, ever. We’re a few EMP’s away from devolving our technology a century or more. Imagine no electricity or communication whatsoever for an extended period and imagine that extended over a good portion of the country. Imagine a couple of nuke lighting up major cities and all of this happening in concert with our financial weakness.
It’s looking more possible by the day.

Cops say a tough but humble young leatherneck in his dress blues was working a Toys for Tots detail in the Financial District Saturday night when he took down a heartless, screwdriver-wielding Grinch who had been interrupted as he broke into a family vehicle full of presents.
“Clearly, he was doing double duty, picking up Toys for Tots and assisting us in apprehending a breaking and entering suspect. Good for him,” said Boston police officer Eddy Chrispin.
The Marine, a Leominster 22-year-old with the Devens-based 1st Battalion, 25th Marines, didn’t want any recognition for his deed. Through the police spokesman, he declined to be interviewed and asked that police not release his name.
But his bravery and selfless dedication? That’s no mystery.
“It is something any Marine would do, at least in my opinion of Marines,” 1st Sgt. Roger Newcomb told the Herald. “Most of my Marines are pretty humble guys.”
It happened about 5 p.m. Saturday. The owners of a 2005 GMC Yukon told police that when they returned to the SUV parked on Water Street, they spotted the suspect “sitting in the driver’s front seat of their truck, rummaging through it,” according to a police report.
The thief took off when startled by the Yukon’s owners, police said, but his flight came to an abrupt halt in nearby Liberty Square, when he ran into the Marine who was loading donated toys into a van.
“The Marine held the suspect until officers arrived on scene a couple minutes later,” police reported. “The suspect was chased from the car before he had a chance to steal any items.”
When police arrived on scene just after 5 p.m., they found the Marine, in full uniform, restraining the suspect, whose flathead screwdriver the officers reported was “on the ground just out of his reach.”
Albert Dionizio, 48, of East Boston is due to be arraigned today in Boston Municipal Court on charges of breaking and entering a motor vehicle in the nighttime and possession of burglarious tools.

WASHINGTON — The leaders of a U.S. House-Senate negotiating panel said on Monday they had agreed to freeze $700 million in U.S. aid to Pakistan until it provides some assurances of assistance in the fight against improvised explosive devices in the region.
The explosive devices are among militants’ most effective weapons against U.S. and coalition troops in Afghanistan. Many are made using ammonium nitrate, a common fertilizer shipped across the border from Pakistan. The freeze on U.S. aid was agreed as part of a defense bill that is expected to be passed this week.
