Probably Douglas Murray’s finest speech delineating the inane moral fetor emanating from Western academicians on the Iranian nuclear crisis (and the hapless Jewish state Europe hates).

Just out of a meeting with folks recently back from Afghanistan and the Gulf States. Their views were interesting to say the least. There was also an Israeli present who’s brother is a former Brig General Special Forces. His comments showed a certain urgency and there were Intel ‘Combat Indicators’ aplenty that show Israeli resolve. The armed forces of Israel are now at full capacity and ready to go into combat mode. Reservists have been briefed as to call up protocols and the regular army is awaiting the call to begin combat operations.
Israel is beginning to run very extensive preparatory civil defence exercises for its civilian population. Whenever this happens in Israel it is a very strong indicator that Israel has already made a decision and is preparing the ground for the inevitable retaliation.
The die has already been cast and it’s just a matter of timing now.
@ coldwarrior:
The smart money is on latish May or early June at the moment. There is a push to try to bring the dates forward but this is finding some resistance in the current US Administration circles at the Pentagon.

There is a whole lot of stuff going in Azerbaijan as well that seems to be relevant to IAF refueling plans, now that the Russians have ‘cruelled the Israeli pitch’ of using Georgian refueling bases. That was what the Russo Georgian war was all about after all. Refueling bases that allow the Israeli Air Force to be able to reach Iran and remain tactically viable.
Had my last District nurse visit yesterday. Just my right hand now still looking a bit mucky. Now that it is closed up I am trying a Chinese burn treatment that has had good results. I wasn’t completely comfortable with putting it on weeping wounds but I will give it a go now. After24 hours the colour of the back of my hand has changed from a purple lumpy mess to a pink bumpy look. Give me another week to 10 days and I’ll be back to normal!
LTC Davis should be arriving at Nome on his iceberg counting task about now!
The guy must have figured that he had nothing to lose and so he was free to call it like it is!
this is a bombshell. how many other officers will talk now?

Only those middle ranking officers who have been passed over and are approaching rank for age positions. The current Pentagon culture is quite toxic. I was told on very good authority that there is virtually no forward planning studies post 2014 afhgan withdrawl. I just couldn’;t believe this and sought an alternative channel. The same answer popped out. Nobody is thinking ahead.
The same mistakes are happening again as happened post Gulf War II when the US won the war and then discovered that there was NO Plan on how to secure the peace!
Some folks never learn!
I am truly shocked at what is happening at the Pentagon and the bad culture of mediocracy that pretends to show leadership … or lack thereof!
The senior command structure of the US seems flawed and mired in a toxic culture of inertia and self promotion.
I love watching the glazed eyed young German and Scandinavian (usually Swedish) tourists on holiday in the Southern Alps.
The clash between their illusions of how the real works up against the reality.
When you sip that spring water do so through clenched teeth in a feint hope of straining out the Guardia !

Don’t underestimate the Turkish armed forces. They are very tough and have a very powerful defence industry behind them. Turkey has a much stronger defence force than Iran by miles.
The Ottomans are back but haven’t found the will yet to push their case regionally
There is nothing as cute as the ass of a Scandinavian blond squatting between the doors of a camper van ‘shitting blue lights’ by the road side! LOL
Oh how their fond imaginings are so cruelly dashed! LOL

they are still muslims (sladin died a long time ago and took bravery with him), i’ll take the greeks and the israeli’s with he russians in that fight all day.
I should do some work. Still it’s great goofing off in here for a while. Where is everybody else mate?
Tucked up in their beds with assorted wives lovers and partners no doubt.

True however the armed forces were essentially secular until fairly recently thanks to the enduring legacy of Attaturk. Alas that is waning The Turks would be a real handful for most regional powers. The Greeks wouldn’t stand a chance but the Serbs plus Russians would give the=m a run for their money. Too bad the Russian Black Sea fleet is locked up inside the Black Sea. It’d take a courageous or crazy Russian captain to try to force a Narrows passage!

God bless Israel in its hour of peril.

we saw this at the store the other day and had a laugh:
an american company has bottled up wht is supposed to smell like new zealand in springtime.
Inspired by New Zealand’s South Island where springs feed glacier-carved streams and verdant vistas.
i guess they didnt get near the sheep pens
