Saudis Use Interpol to Have Journalist Arrested for Criticizing Muhammad

Answering Muslims has the story:

This is horrifying. Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) is a worldwide network of police departments established to help countries capture criminals who cross borders. Saudi Arabia recently used an Interpol alert to have Hamza Kashgari arrested in Malaysia, where he fled for his life after Saudis began calling for his death. By helping the Saudis capture Kashgari, Interpol has become an international Sharia enforcement unit. People who flee the Muslim world to escape punishment can now be rounded up by Interpol and returned to their countries to face Islamic penalties for apostasy, criticizing Muhammad, etc.

THE GUARDIAN–Interpol has been accused of abusing its powers after Saudi Arabia used the organisation’s red notice system to get a journalist arrested in Malaysia for insulting the Prophet Muhammad.
Hamza Kashgari
Police in Kuala Lumpur said Hamza Kashgari, 23, was detained at the airport “following a request made to us by Interpol” the international police cooperation agency, on behalf of the Saudi authorities.

Kashgari, a newspaper columnist, fled Saudi Arabia after posting a tweet on the prophet’s birthday that sparked more than 30,000 responses and several death threats. The posting, which was later deleted, read: “I have loved things about you and I have hated things about you and there is a lot I don’t understand about you … I will not pray for you.”

More than 13,000 people joined a Facebook page titled “The Saudi People Demand the Execution of Hamza Kashgari”.

Clerics in Saudi Arabia called for him to be charged with apostasy, a religious offence punishable by death. Reports suggest that the Malaysian authorities intend to return him to his native country.

Kashgari’s detention has triggered criticism by human rights groups of Malaysia’s decision to arrest the journalist and of Interpol’s cooperation in the process.

Jago Russell, the chief executive of the British charity Fair Trials International, which has campaigned against the blanket enforcement of Interpol red notices, said: “Interpol should be playing no part in Saudi Arabia’s pursuit of Hamza Kashgari, however unwise his comments on Twitter.

“If an Interpol red notice is the reason for his arrest and detention it would be a serious abuse of this powerful international body that is supposed to respect basic human rights (including to peaceful free speech) and to be barred from any involvement in religious or political cases.” (Read more.)

It’s a good thing that they didn’t catch the guy
smugging a contolled substance like deoderant.
Seriously, what Interpol did is an outrage &
    heads should roll.
pressure should be brought on Malaysia not to
cooperate with the Saudis & let this guy go.

Supposedly it is an abuse of Interpol policy to use their alert system for “crimes” of this nature. So somebody screwed up, or was paid to screw up.

As to why Hamza went to Malaysia? Maybe it was one of the only places where he could get to from Saudi on short notice with a Saudi passport, or maybe no passport?

It’s very competitive over there, but I think that

He was on the McLaughlin Group one night and said,
“I don’t give a damn about the morale of the troops.

Of some note on connections and intersectors of the world wide evil money cults.

Watching the hearings of the House on problems of internet security and the mal ware and break ins of computer net works of banks, ect.

One thing that one guy was proud of was a smart card that the 6,000 interpol officers have. It gives them access to almost any building, any computer net work, the ISP servers ect.

My guess is they can spy on any one any were without one dam court order of any one knowing that they are doing so.

    BIG BIG BROTHER

He actually denied that the Muslim Brotherhood is in

I guess that you have to be very precise with McCain,
“Senator did the Muslim Brotherhood win a plurality
of the vote & hold a majority with another Islamist
    Party? Senator?”

As I understand it, a phobia is not by definition
    an unreasonable fear.
As an example a Jew in Germany in the thirties would
have been well advised to be phobic regarding the
    National Socialist Party.
And yes, Islamophobia is redundant when we keep hearing

    @ waldensianspirit:
Obama is at war with every American institution be it The Constitution, capitalism, religion or the military. His latest effort:

Obama Pulls Combat Pay for U.S. Troops

The rules for Hostile Fire and Imminent Danger Pay have changed. Service members will now receive imminent danger pay only for days they actually spend in hazardous areas. This change went in effect on February 1, 2012.
A member of a uniformed service may be entitled to Hostile Fire and Imminent Danger pay at the rate of $225 for any month in which he/she was entitled to basic pay and in which he/she was:

    Subject to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines;

    On duty in an area in which he was in imminent danger of being exposed to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines and in which, during the period he was on duty in that area, other members of the uniformed services were subject to hostile fire or explosion of hostile mines;

Killed, injured, or wounded by hostile fire, explosion of a hostile mine, or any other hostile action; or

On duty in a foreign area in which he was subject to the threat of physical harm or imminent danger on the basis of civil insurrection, civil war, terrorism, or wartime conditions.

The last bullet point speaks volumes as to the sheer stupidity of this measure. The whole point of going to Afghanistan and Iraq was for combat operations- Afghanistan still is a hostile warzone, and both U.S. and NATO forces continue to suffer losses in and out of combat hot zones. Insurgent attacks have accured throughout areas that have been deemed ‘safe’, and in areas where hostilities were not forseen.

Never forget our nation was forged in violence. Thankfully, that forge has sat unused and abandoned for many generations.

When a government no longer represents the will of its people and represents its own will, it ceases being a legitimate government. At that point, all bets are off. Right now, I think we’re at the coal gathering stage.
