My folks are actually vacationing in his district currently.
Dad says FL politics is nuts. Apparently, his district is right next to DWS’s.
She was having an event in a shopping district they were at last week, and the first thing my Dad says is: “Have you ever SEEN her ass, apart from her face? It’s HUGE!”

So—assuming that is not a factor, understand that West is several things that “establishment” types find uncomfortable. First, he is a veteran, and a combat veteran at that. Military service is increasingly rare in the political class, and active service even more so. That means that the mere fact that West has commanded under fire and given and received fire and perhaps even killed a few people himself scares the living shit out of many of the people he encounters now as colleagues. They feel naked and guilty and scared and ashamed. So they throw that back at him as dislike.

Worse than that, he seems to take that whole “Tea Party” thing seriously, and take his oath of office seriously too. This makes him uncontrollable and unreliable, which is another reason that the establishment dislikes him.

Good post, Bob! I saw this on Sunday and watched the whole thing. Almost put it up myself. West has all of the attributes that I’m looking for in a Commander-in-Chief and none of the baggage of the current crew. I’ll vote for him the first chance I get.
