Sometimes you get an idea for a project that you just have to see through, and apparently this is one of them. But what does it mean?

I dunno, Babs, but I do know this. It’s time for The Overnight Open Thread.

I was just thinking about Halloween today.
And, those lighted eyeballs just reminded me of that little fact.

    @ Lily:
That film and its sequel are the only two modern horror films I enjoy. They just had the right old style monster movie vibe. I was a little upset the series ended. The 3rd was rumored to be planned as a Western prequel.

I liked the first one the best! I like scary movies, but slasher movies they always have the same plot.
Every now and then I stumble across a good one.

What I was trying to say is I don’t like slasher movies.
It’s getting late and my typing is has been weighed and measured and found ‘wanting’. ;)

I never was into scary/slasher movies. Maybe they seem too predictable. However, I have been enjoying some old movies on the Retro Channel.

one of the dumbest horror movies ever made. And like many. because the ending was beyond stupid. however it is only one of the dumbest because the follow up set a record in pure bad plotting.

Traffic is slow at this hour.
USA Today has a blurb above the fold that gas
prices may be going to $5.00 per gallon
Got me to thinking what if Cheetos spike to $5.00
per bag? I think that a shut in in Culver City that
rides a bike instead of driving a car will be
    hysterical.

    Sometimes I don’t miss home.

An Ohio woman who compared animal-welfare work to the liberation of World War II concentration camps has been charged with soliciting a hit man to fatally shoot or slit the throat of a random fur-wearer, federal authorities said.

Meredith Lowell, 27, of Cleveland Heights,
    …Dennis Kucinich’s district. Shocker.

The affidavit says an FBI employee posing as a possible hit man later began email correspondence with Lowell, and she offered him $730 in jewelry or cash for the killing of a victim of at least 12 years but “preferably 14 years old or older” outside a library near a playground in her hometown.

Dad was right. They should put a fence around Cleveland and not let anyone out.

    An American judge said this

American Judge in American court (minute 29:50): “Our forefathers intended that we use the first amendment so that we could speak what’s on our mind, not piss off other cultures….. Islam is not just a religion, it’s their culture, their culture, the very essence, their very being. They pray five times a day, towards Mecca. To be a good Muslim before you die, you have to make a pilgrimage to Mecca unless you are otherwise told you cannot because you are too ill, too elderly, whatever, you must make the attempt. Their greetings salum alaikum waliakum as-salm )as answered by voice), uh may god be with you. It is very common, their language, when they are speaking to each other, it is very common for them to say, uh allah willing, this will happen. It’s they are so immersed in it. And what you’ve done is you’ve completey trashed their essence, their being. They find it very, very, very offensive. I am a Muslim. I find it very offensive ….. You are way outside your bounds of first amendment rights.”(minute 31)

    @ rain of lead:

I saw that yesterday. This judge needs to be impeached. He made a ruling based on his religion, not on the law. We wouldn’t stand for it if a Christian did something similar. We should not stand for it when a Mohammedan does it. There are no excuses for this behavior. None. If he can’t rule on the law, then he needs to not be a judge. This isn’t Somolia. If he wants to live by Somoli rules, he needs to move to Somolia.

and speaking of out of control judges

Gay Dallas Judge Won’t Perform Marriages

Dallas County Judge Tonya Parker says she won’t perform marriage ceremonies until gay couples can wed.

During a Feb. 21 meeting, Parker told the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas that while she has the power to perform legal marriage ceremonies in her court, she will not.

“I use it as my opportunity to give them a lesson about marriage inequality in this state because I feel like I have to tell them why I’m turning them away,” Parker said. “So I usually will offer them something along the lines of, ‘I’m sorry. I don’t perform marriage ceremonies because we are in a state that does not have marriage equality, and until it does, I am not going to partially apply the law to one group of people that doesn’t apply to another group of people.’ And it’s kind of oxymoronic for me to perform ceremonies that can’t be performed for me, so I’m not going to do it.”

Solyndra abandons efforts to go clean and green

Federal officials hailed Solyndra LLC’s plan to create clean energy when they awarded the company more than a half-billion dollars in loans, but the solar-panel maker’s abrupt closure now threatens to leave behind an environmental mess.

The company plans on paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to clean up its own property in Fremont, Calif., but a separate leased property in nearby Milpitas sits vacant with barrels of unknown chemicals and lead-contaminated equipment, attorneys for the landlord, iStarCTL I L.P., said in recent bankruptcy court filings
