It’s simpler than that. All the stupid in this country is not on the progressive side; there are plenty of people on the right who are just as into the quick fix as the lefties are. They are gravitating to Ron Paul because he is giving them stupid, easy-to-understand quick-fix sloganeering—and they do not have the mental equipment or the background to realize that Ron Paul’s quick fixes are just as useless as lefty quick fixes, because they are quick fixes.
Americans love quick fixes; fast food, crazy glue, prohibition, direct election of Senators, civil service, term limits, campaign finance reform, etc. Every damn time a quick fix is tried it doesn’t work, and creates more problems. Does this encourage Americans to learn from their mistakes? Not on your life. The failure of a quick-fix means that the next quick-fix must be demanded—and we can’t wait! in the words of the current White House occupant.
Quick fixes are invariably bullshit. They are always sought so that people can apply them and roll over and go back to sleep—which always, without fail, leads to the creeps gaining control.
Ron Paul is the Prophet of the Quick Fix. That is why no matter what he proposes—no matter how good, or how bad—he himself is political poison. He is an advocate for the worst possible process in American politics.

The RINO establisment part of the Republican party is only at best 35 to 40% of the Republican base.
