With America’s middle calls getting left behind, Oil prices high and our debt out of control, Rick Santorum has other concerns. He has stated that if he’s elected, he will go after Porn. That’s right, he wants to go after porn!
Internet pornography could conceivably become a thing of the past if Rick Santorum is elected president.
The unapologetic social conservative, currently in second place behind Mitt Romney for the GOP nomination, has promised to crack down on the distribution of pornography if elected.
Santorum says in a statement posted to his website, “The Obama Administration has turned a blind eye to those who wish to preserve our culture from the scourge of pornography and has refused to enforce obscenity laws.”
If elected, he promises to “vigorously” enforce laws that “prohibit distribution of hardcore (obscene) pornography on the Internet, on cable/satellite TV, on hotel/motel TV, in retail shops and through the mail or by common carrier.”
[....]
Santorum’s administration could take American-based porn distributors to court for violating obscenity laws, said Volokh, and have them shuttered. But that would leave foreign-based sites untouched.
To black out foreign sites, Santorum would likely need legislative action requiring Internet service providers to use “a mandatory filter set up by the government or by the service providers,” said Volokh.
But the government could also prosecute individual citizens who view porn, and already has the legal authority to do it.

What a yo-yo!
“So you approve of Internet porn” -- is the response of the yahoos.

enforce laws! oh my god!!!!
enforce laws!
how dare he!
when was the last big heroin bust, rodan?
@ coldwarrior:
What does that have to do with this Religious-Progressive wanting to ban porn? What business is it of him what people do with their personal life.
What next, a Saudi style morality police?

I am scared to consider what laws he considers to be laws. Does he want to go back to Prohibition, Sunday Blue Laws, have men and women sleep in separate beds on TV when they play husband and wife? There is a reason why the doofus lost by 18%. He comes across emotionally unbalanced.
@ Speranza:
He probably will want to ban divorce and mini-skirts. Santorum is the Republican version of Bloomberg.
@ coldwarrior:
I won’t have a cell until Saturday. I’ll call from my parents house. SO you see an odd area code, its me.

Both are nannny’s -- one wants to tell you what to eat, the other what to believe. I have zero use for either one of them.
America has a lot of laws on the books, given that it’s not a free country. Not all of these laws are wise, given that this unfree country is run by fools.
In the case of streaming media, banning a product in country X will just push it to country Y. So, yes, President Santorum would have to seal off the international Internet in order to protect our children from the “scourge” of pr0nz.
Whether looking at adult noodz on your computer is a societal evil, or not, is very much open to debate. Whether it’s an evil worse than, I dunno, complete economic meltdown and an Iranian nuclear stranglehold over the Hormuz -- I’ll just say that arguing that point is not going to be easy.
What Santorum should say, is along the lines of “I will abolish those laws that can’t be enforced internationally, and I will work with our allies to secure the Internet from criminals. Child pornography and sexual slavery will not be tolerated here or anywhere.”

ok…if that is where you are there is no way to speak rationally with you or have a decent discussion about this subject. fine by me, i dont support santorum one way or the other.
@ Zimriel:
he does get it on islam, for real gets it.
we cant have that

Then that’s what he should concentrate on.

/Oh and vote Romney for tv shows with nonsegregated beds!
To me Santorum represents a division in the country that won’t have many cross over votes. Obama will set him up as a clown punching bag and box him all over the country.

Come off it. I think about as much of Santorum as you do of Romney. There is a reason why he got his ass handed to him in 2006.
Something tells me Obama would want to stay far away from this topic. Very thin ice for him.
I don’t like Santorum.
But I’ll gladly vote for him over Mittens.
His economic plan is better, and he hates the Muzz.
And simply to stick a finger in the eye of the GOP establishment.
Speranza wrote:
i’ll still vote for romney against 0 any day.
this will be the last time for the gop for me to do that though.

that isnt important.
we cant have a prez that actually wants to fight the muzz!
Well, looks like Santorum just lost the Iceweasel vote.
If Santorum said he would put soldiers in Humvees with a .50 cal “Ma Deuce” on the roof
at corner of every major intersection, with orders to open fire on every car that drives by
blaring cRap “music” so loud the body panels shake I’d send the guy 1000 bucks!
I got your culture war right here muhfuggahs !
Okay, in the spirit of Bill Murray’s “Star Wars Lounge Singer”….
Poooooooornnnnnn Waaaaaaarrrrssss! Nothing but Porn Wars!
With all the problems the POS occupying the White House and the other dumocrats have caused that need to be fixed, I’d put porn wayyyyyyyy down at the bottom of my “to do” list. Priorities, knucklehead…

Of course, that points out the real danger with Obama: It’s all a matter of what laws the current administration chooses to enforce (or not).
Voter intimidation is already illegal. So is voter fraud. And illegal immigration. And plotting to commit mass murder for political aims (whether couched in religious terms or not).
But Obama chooses not to enforce those laws.

It may be down the list, but it’s all related, whether people want to admit it or not.
Here’s the end result of the “social libertarian” mindset:

Um…that could be aka ‘Star Whores’!
