Please, take a number…

A Moscow gynecologist in the throes of a nervous breakdown decided the auto dealership which sent him over the edge was going down with him.

Using his Suzuki Grand Vitara as a battering ram, the 35-year-old doctor charged the packed storefront of the Pelican auto dealership in Northern Moscow like 166 horses on a rampage.

I wonder what the wait times are in his office?

Impatient Customer Destroys Dealership Showroom

12 April 2012
The Moscow Times

You’ve heard about road rage. But what about pre-road rage?

A 41-year-old gynecologist faces up to five years in prison for losing his cool after being asked to wait 20 minutes to pick up his car following repairs at a Nissan dealership in northern Moscow.

The gynecologist, Mikhail Kustov, drove into the showroom and started ramming into cars, causing tens of thousands of dollars in damages during a chaotic three minutes captured by the Pelican-Auto dealership’s surveillance cameras.

Kustov, a father of two, arrived nine minutes early for a 3:30 p.m. appointment last Saturday at the dealership on 107-A Dmitrovskoye Shosse, where he intended to pick up a Nissan Navara after repairs, Pelican-Auto said.

After informing dealership staff about his arrival, Kustov, a regular customer, sat for a few minutes on a couch and later smoked outside as he waited. He had just gotten off work and was eager to drive his children to the family dacha outside Moscow, news reports said.

But after learning at 3:52 p.m. that his car still was not ready, he stormed out of the dealership and got into his Suzuki Grand Vitara parked near the three-story building, according to a detailed account of the incident provided by Pelican-Auto on its website.

A few minutes later, Kustov plowed his car into the front of showroom and began sideswiping the parked vehicles on display, according to the video of the incident.

A black uniformed security guard is seen cautiously approaching the moving car and tapping on a window before jumping out of the way to avoid getting hit in the mayhem.

Kustov finally crashed the rumpled hood of his car into a cashiers’ counter and the car stalled. Security guards quickly descended on the car, and one of them, wielding a shiny pole from a plate-glass window that once stretched above the cashiers’ counter, broke the driver’s side window.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Pelican-Auto expressed shock at what had happened and said it wanted Kustov to be charged to the fullest extent of the law.

“There is no logical explanation for these kinds of actions,” it said in a statement. “Kustov not only caused major damage to the company but could have inflicted serious bodily harm or posed a threat to the lives of the people who were in the showroom.”

The dealership also voiced doubt that the 20-minute wait was the main cause of the meltdown. “Let further conclusions be made by the police, prosecutors, the courts and, possibly, psychiatrists,” it said.

According to preliminary estimates, Kustov caused total damages of more than 1 million rubles ($34,000), police said in a statement. It said Kustov, whom police declared sober at the scene, faces charges of intentionally destroying property.

Kustov has not commented publicly on the incident.

Pelican-Auto, meanwhile, is facing a possible backlash, with skeptics accusing it of trying to cash in on what happened, NTV television reported Wednesday night. The dealership is accused of promoting its surveillance videos in hope that by going viral they will attract new customers and cover the costs of the dented cars and broken showroom windows.

But Pelican-Auto suggested that it was performing a public service by being open and upfront about the matter. “We decided to provide full information about the incident — with a chronology of the events and the video footage shot by surveillance cameras inside the showroom and on the street — to avoid any rumors or speculation about the facts of what occurred in our showroom on April 7, 2012,” it said.

This morning it was an accident, this afternoon after the lawyers got in on it, it wasn’t an accident. Hmmmmmm.

    Tra “Accident”…

Trayvon Martin’s mom Sybrina Fulton said in an interview on the “Today” show Thursday that she believes it was “an accident” that George Zimmerman shot and killed her son in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26.

“I believe it was an accident,” Fulton said. “I believe that it just got out of control, and he couldn’t turn the clock back. I would ask him, did he know that that was a minor, that that was a teenager and that he did not have a weapon? I would ask him that I understand that his family is hurting, but think about our family that lost our teenage son. I mean, it’s just very difficult to live with day in and day out. I’m sure his parents can pick up the phone and call him, but we can’t pick up the phone and call Trayvon anymore.”

Zimmerman, who is being charged with second-degree murder, is currently being held in protective custody at the Seminole County jail, awaiting a court appearance.

    *snip*

Statement from Sybrina Fulton clarifying earlier comments:

“Earlier today, I made a comment to the media that was later mischaracterized.

When I referenced the word ‘accident’ today with regard to Trayvon’s death, in NO way did I mean the shooting was an accident. We believe that George Zimmerman stalked my son and murdered him in cold blood. The ‘accident’ I was referring to was the fact that George Zimmerman and my son ever crossed paths. It was an accidental encounter. If George Zimmerman hadn’t gotten out of his vehicle, this entire incident would have been avoided. My son was profiled, followed and murdered by George Zimmerman, and there was nothing accidental about that.”

well, if they are trying to get the payload into orbit, that is the correct direction.

getting a payload up is the same as a ballistic missile with nuke warheads for all intents and purposes.

The cynic in me says this is just a delaying action. Specifically, delaying the urban burns that will accompany a not guilty verdict.

The optimist in me says this is the second step to get to the truth and put the matter to rest.

But then the cynic in me asks why didn’t the Special Prosecutor convene a grand jury? You’d think in such a high-profile case they’d want the appearance of dotting every i, and crossing every t (going through all of the formal motions as it were.)?

What? Satellite orbital insertion trajectories are not polar. They are anticlockwise equatorial launches. If you are launching towards one of the poles, that’s not a satellite launch.

It just goes to show that our rights, even here in the USA, are forever in danger of a malicious, vindictive prosecutor. Folks are wrong if you think the prosecutor is acting in the best interests of justice. The prosecutor wants to win, and forget about any innocent folks who get screwed along the way.

It also lends credence to the saying that we have a Legal System, but not a justice system.

The fact that Eric Holder is the U.S. Attorney General tells you the condition of justice in this country. He’s a bigoted totalitarian and the mere sight of him makes my flesh crawl.

Rep. Lamborn demands Holder’s resignation, calling Fast and Furious ‘an outrage’

“The attorney general has been dishonest with the American people,” Lamborn wrote in an email. “He has contradicted himself repeatedly in congressional testimony. The Fast and Furious Program is an outrage. We deserve better from the nation’s top law enforcement official and Eric Holder should resign immediately.

Well, Zimmerman is a democrat, so while he definitely needs to know that honest fair-minded individuals wish to support him, someone may actually have to inform him and his legal defense team otherwise they will probably not figure it out because it probably isn’t something they would think to do.

No, satellites can be put into either equatorial or polar orbits. What Dorian said is correct if the satellite is intended for an equatorial orbit. The Russians have been putting satellites into polar orbits for years from Plesetsk Cosmodrome, and us from Vandenberg. The first satellite to go into a polar orbit was Discoverer One launched from Vandenberg AFB in 1959.

Yea, but polar orbit insertions are super difficult, not something you even try until you have several successful equatorial insertions under your belt.

Romney really needs to lose the jeans, he doesn’t look natural in them. Some people don’t. Personally, I don’t wear jeans -- I just never did, I prefer a pair of khakis or cargo pants. It’s like cowboy hats, some people can wear ‘em and some people look ridiculous in them….I’m n the latter group there, too. W could wear jeans and a cowboy hat and look perfectly comfortable and at home. Romney (or me, for that matter) would look like a vacationer at “Westworld”.

Sounds like the Fisker Karma. That is one expensive piece of shit. As for North Korea, I wonder if their artillery rockets are as crappy as their ballistic missiles? I mean, yeah, an ICBM is somewhat more difficult to make, but maybe all of the artillery that the Norks are using to threaten the South ain’t quite what it is cracked up to be. North Korea is a boil long overdue for lancing. But nobody is going to take up the challenge until they nuke somebody.

I am not so much worried about a nuke warhead on a missile as I am a nuke truck bomb or shipping container. That is something that Iran can do if she gets a nuke, easy. And Obama is doint nothing substantive to stop Iran from gettin g a nuke. Indeed, the only reason to be fairly certain Iran doesn’t have nukes is that there hasn’t been an incident of nuclear terrorism. How fucking comforting…
