The Zimmerman Case Is Not What It Seems

The Zimmerman Case is not what it seems. We on the Right may have fallen for the shiny object yet again. You see, the Left are very cunning in their means and very disciplined in the pursuit of their ends. They understand incrementalism and often work under the strategy that many small victories over time are worth more than the big win. Look at how the Left have taken over the schools and the media. Many small and often unnoticed wins, step by step, while the rest of American is busy with what seems to be more important issues. Eventually these little steps, these innocuous little wins, add up to intractable situations where the Left has won outright.

The Right does not think in ‘Long March’ strategies. Often the Right is not content with a small win and will destroy itself fighting for an often unattainable Big Righteous Win. Lets use abortion as a generic example, I DO NOT want this thread to be about abortion. It starts with Sanger and goes from a back alley and shameful thing to big business in less than 80 years. The Left won small and often invisible victories over and over again through that time, they nibbled away at the edges until Roe v. Wade. Bad law or not is irrelevant; we can scream about it until we are blue faced and that would change nothing. Roe is simply a codification of the many small victories over a period of time by the left that took abortion from a shameful act to big business. Now, it is folly to believe that Roe would ever be overturned. The Big Win to roll back the abortion business will never happen. Take this as a lesson in tactics and strategy.

Now, what is another major issue that defines the Left versus the Right? Gun Rights. This is another epic battleground between the Progressive Nannyists and those who believe the Second Amendment should be read literally. There have been massive gains for CCW and Shall Issue by State. These gains are mainly over the past 25 years and will be very very hard for the Progressives to roll back. The Conservatives took a play out of the Progressive’s playbook.

However, there can be no rest for the weary on either side. If the Nannyists see CCW and Shall Issue as too much of an obstacle to overcome state by state they can render lead as a pollutant or serial number bullets. This makes the bullets too expensive for range day and too expensive for many gun owners.

How else will the Progressives act? Well, this Zimmerman case is a perfect first step to squash something they hate the most. They can’t stand the Castle Doctrine, AKA Stand Your Ground gun laws. These laws allow citizens to really protect themselves and their property without fear of an overzealous DA trying to convict them for murder for killing the intruder in their house. The Castle Doctrine cuts the Nanny State off at the knees. The citizens are allowed to defend themselves. The Nanny State loses importance and loses power. Power and control are what the Nannyists feed on.

Mr Zimmerman was, according to the evidence, covered by Florida’s Castle Doctrine. Do Not be fooled by all of this race baiting and gyrations about White-Hispanics. The Progressives are using the You Are A Racist Inc. ™ only to whip up a shiny object for us all to get lost in while they start to eat away at the Castle Doctrine. This will start in Florida, then spread. The pundits will begin to question the Doctrine everywhere and at all times all over the media to get it first vilified and then repealed. Put down the shiny object and understand what the Nannyists will try to do. Never let a crisis go to waste.

Keep your eyes on your rights, not the shiny object distractions.

“Stand your ground” is not the same as “Castle Doctrine.” Lots of stuff on such things at Volokh…

Wells aid and I agree. The whole race thing is to distract the Right from the real agenda, which is getting rid of CWP and Castle laws.

    @ Mike C.:

They are not one and the same but are related. A successful attack on one can lead to a successful attack on the other.

It would be an amazingly bad move on their part to try something like that.

    Which means they probably will…

That is what the Trayvon martin thing is all about. They are using race as a distraction from their real agenda. Which is to take away the right to carry and defend yourself.

They can read polls just as well as we can. It’s a losing issue. Solid majorities of Democrats and Republicans favor those laws.

I really think they’re just using it as a distraction from how badly Obama’s fucking things up.

Fast and Furious is a good example of a machiavellan ruse by which the left could enact more gun control. What twisted minds to come up with such a twisted idea.

While I have other disagreements with Governor Walker, two things I think he and the Wisconsin legislature got right this time around were the enactment / promulgation of Concealed Carry and the Castle Doctrine.

Race still plays into it, or they would be all over the Phoenix shooting incident.

This isn’t the only way they’re attacking gun rights at this time. I noticed my local NBC running a “news story” on unsafe firearms. I thought it was a bit odd considering there had not been any recent incidents. Then they said that there was a story coming up that night on Rock Center. So, apparently they are now allowed to frame editorials as news stories and we’re supposed to believe it.

They were dragging up 10 year old incidents to justify their “story”. So expect this to come next. The feds will step in to shut down firearms manufacturers due to mechanical defects. (This is due to the supposed defect in a Remington shotgun produced a few years ago.)

From your lips to God’s ears. This has one been a major point of contention, not only on his site, but generally among those who’s politics are Conservative/Libertarian/Right of Center. Political parties reinvent and redirect themselves all of the time; both parties have done so on several occasions, just in my lifetime. Dramatic political pendulum swings to the Left, or the Right are general impermanent and often dangerous. Judicious, incremental, building upon small successes lead to structural change. While savage each other and have high-minded philosophical discussions about the nature Conservatism and argue as to who is a “real Conservative”, Democrats are continually advancing the ball, albeit only inches at times. Philosophical discussions are worthy and productive, but only when the barbarians aren’t ravaging our society. High-mindedness should not be placed ahead of survival.

We really need to learn from our enemies

I think they’ve overstepped on this case. Zimmerman isn’t as villainous, or Martin as virtuous as the one-dimensional caricatures would indicate, and bringing this matter to trial and laying it all out for everyone to see may well be the best that could have happened to Zimmerman.

As for overturning laws, they’re going to need a hell of a lot more than a seemingly weak example such as this one.

Yes, they are never going to give up, and they don’t care that the public is against them on this. We have to punch back twice as hard. We need to not be satisfied with where we are, but try to get the unconstitutional infringements on the Second Amendment either repealed or thrown out by the Courts. Either one will do.

I think the examples of Chicago, Detroit and every other crime-ridden, murder-ridden city may will be their undoing. They all have a commonality; liberal leadership and tough gun laws.

  25. 25 | April 13, 2012 1:13 pm

    @ MacDuff:

Detroit is what they want to turn America into. You need look no further for a real world example of their goal. That we’d call it a disaster does not deter them. It is impoverished, Balkanized on race, and crime-ridden, and that is the way they like it. An America in the shape of Detroit would not be a player on the world stage, but another has-been nation on the ash-heap of history. And that, more than gun control or even socialism, is their ultimate goal.

My right to personal self-defense is a God-given right. No law will take this right from me. You’re correct, in that many folks who hold this attitude regarding armed self-defense will not give up, as they think the world will continue to go their way. It will continue to require considerable effort in order to change the momentum, and change the course of US Common Law to better reflect a right-wing, pro-self defense attitude.

    Right on the head CW.

I was just having this conversation 30 minutes ago.

As soon as I began watching the interviews of the mother, and claiming she did think this was an accident, the cover was blown.

Watch her interviews, and she is citing the gun laws as what the culprit was in her son’s death.

And therein lies the rub; maybe it’s what advances their agenda but it’s not what Americans want. The People will unwittingly follow the liberal model as long as it makes them feel all warm and fuzzy, but when it turns dystopian as Detroit has been for some time, they won’t. New York dodged the bullet with Giuliani and pulled back, but Detroit took it square in the forehead – the decline in the auto industry delivered the asylum to the inmates on a silver platter. It’ll be interesting what happens in places like Chicago.

Doing the bidding of reverends Sharpton and Jackson: ‘Trayvon’ shouted as group attacks Good Samaritan.

The name of Trayvon Martin was invoked again Wednesday night in Gainesville during an attack by a group that police say stomped on a white man who was scuffling with a black robbery suspect on the Bo Diddley Community Plaza.
The robbery suspect, Carl Milton Babb, 50, had been released from prison earlier in the day after serving more than two years in prison for the same crime he is accused of committing Wednesday — snatching a purse from a woman near the downtown plaza.

According to a Gainesville Police Department arrest report, Babb approached a woman eating dinner at the Lunchbox on the plaza at about 8:50 p.m. and asked her for a light.

When she said she didn’t have one, Babb took off with her purse, which contained her $500 cellphone, according to the report.

The woman’s dinner companion and another person took off after Babb.

When her friend caught up with Babb, according to the police report, Babb punched him in the face and grabbed his hair, but he was able to keep Babb pinned down, according to the report.

The scene attracted a crowd, and a number of people on the plaza approached Babb and the Good Samaritan, who tried to explain that Babb had just stolen his friend’s purse.

GPD spokeswoman Cpl. Angelina Valuri said some members of the crowd shouted “Trayvon!” and that at least three of members of the crowd began stomping on the hands of the woman’s friend to force him to let go of Babb.

Babb, who was listed as homeless, was arrested by police a few blocks away.

Divide et impera. They want us Balkanized along racial lines. That makes us much more easy to manipulate and control. Things were getting too good, racial divisions too quite. I would bet that Obama and crew have been waiting for something to happen that they could use to forment division. Of course, the underlying racial pathology had to be there in the black community fo rthem to exploit it, so maybe this was inevitible. What is clear is that to a large swath of the black community, being judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin is not their dream…

They may be able to change that in some States, just as they are able to get away with gun control laws in some States even after Heller and MacDonald, but they aren’t going to be able to swing it nationwide. Not any time soon. We have to be vigilent, though. They are coming for our rights, make no mistake about that. They don’t want people to be free and independant. They want us dependant and abused. A boot crushing the face of humanity forever is their goal.

Excerpts from the speech that Mitt Romney is going to give to the NRA this weekend. Very good. I just wish I believed that he believed what he is saying. I don’t. If he really believed it, he’d have vetoed Massachuttes’ permanent “Assault Weapon” ban when it came across his desk as governor. He signed that bill. That said, as long as the Republicans hold the House, we should not have to worry about what he can sign as President. I do worry somewhat about what he will do by executive order, but Obama would undoubtably be worse.
