Recently Israel has called up some of its reserves. PM Netanyhu has formed a national unity cabinet. Many analysts claim its Iran that Israel is preparing against. Well it seems its an enemy closer to home.
Hizballah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah has issued another threat to Israel. He is bragging that Hizballah can hit anywhere in Israel. He even says they can hit specific targets in Tel Aviv.
BEIRUT – Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Friday his terrorist group was capable of striking any target in neighboring Israel, claiming “the days when we fled and they did not are over”.
“Today we are not only able to hit Tel Aviv as a city but, God willing, we are able to hit specific targets in Tel Aviv and anywhere in occupied Palestine,” Nasrallah said in a televised address.
“For every building destroyed in Dahiya, a building will be destroyed in Tel Aviv,” he said, referring to Hezbollah’s stronghold in a suburb of southern Beirut.
The Israelis clearly are not taking Nasrallah’s threats lightly. For all the talk of a war with Iran, its more likely Israel and Hizballah will go to war again. This time I hope, Israel fights total war style and turns the Shiite part of Lebanon into rubble. No mercy should be given to these savages.

The IDF did okay in 2006. But it was, as heysoos notes, not easy. And the IDF pissed away its victory afterward.

Actually, Israel’s war with Hezbollah is a subset of Israel’s war with Iran, which is itself a subset of Israel’s war with Islamism, which is itself a subset of Western Civilization’s war with Islamism, which is a subset of Western Civilization’s war with Islam. Clear enough? The war is worldwide, is in progress right now, and (sadly) is likely to continue beyond our present lifetimes.
And as Al Qaeda is extolling it’s followers to burn the southwest Santa Fe city council passes a resolution saying no attack on Iran.

The Israelis are better prepared this time. Keep in mind, Israel just did raids in 2006, until the last 72 hours. Then they finally send in a 30,000 man force and pushed back Hizballah 15 miles and reached the Litani in several spots.
Next time they will fight total war style and will firebomb Lebanese shia villages.

I have a relative in the Colombian Army. He liaisons with IDF troops. He told me flat out, they are preparing to fight with fire. Remember that was Olmert a Progressives as PM. This tike they will have a Rightwing PM Netanyhu.
So they will fight with gloves off.
I don’t think anybody other than the IDF and Mossad know much about Hez defenses in southern Lebanon..if they have multiple fall back defenses, bunker complexes, and are stacked with anti armor stuff…the IDF will have tough sloggin…add to that masses of man operated anti aircraft missiles, and you have a real problem dislodging Hez if they stand and fight…the same terrain that favors close air support also favors hand held missiles and heavy AA…it will take time and patience
