Belgians offer $325 burka bounty
Published on Jun 6, 2012 by SDAMatt2a
Hat tip: Vlad TepesBelgian right-wingers have offered a bounty of €250 ($325) to anyone who reports a veiled woman to police, they said Tuesday after last week’s riots in Brussels over the arrest of a woman wearing a niqab.
Filip Dewinter, a senior figure in Vlaams Belang, a right-wing party, said the violence had made police apprehensive about enforcing the burka ban and the payment should put pressure on authorities to further enforce it.
“It’s a textile prison for the women who have to live under it,” he said.
Last week, protesters hurled bins and metal barriers at a police station after Stéphanie Djato, 24, was arrested for refusing to remove her face veil.
“They tried to enter by force, but they were not able to,” a spokesman for Brussels police told broadcaster RTL.
“So instead they threw metal barriers and bins.”
Ms. Djato, who was waiting at a streetcar stop, scuffled with officers after she refused to show them any ID. During the mêlée, a policewoman was injured.
“Finally, the woman’s veil was removed and she was taken to hospital with mild concussion,” a police spokesman told Le Soir newspaper.
The violence broke out when Ms. Djato’s husband went to the police station to complain, accompanied by about 20 others. Police are investigating and arrested 13 members of the Islamist group Sharia4Belgium Sunday,
Meanwhile, Ms. Djato has launched a civil suit against the police for their attack on her modesty and the injuries she suffered. Her lawyer said she is currently in hospital. This is not related to her recent injuries, but because she is having a heart operation later this month.
A Brussels police spokesman said he was unaware of the money being offered, but said any officer who sees a woman wearing a niqab would issue a penalty. “When someone is breaking the law we always have to intervene, demonstrations or no, the niqab is prohibited,” he said.
Women in Belgium risk a maximum fine of €150 ($195) if they wear a full face veil in public. Belgium and France both banned the wearing of such veils in public last year.
According to newspaper reports, Ms. Djato was born in Belgium to a Cameroonian mother and a Belgian father. She converted to Islam four years ago and chose to wear the face-covering niqab.
Mr. Dewinter said he was not aware how many people had already responded to the offer of a bounty.
A spokeswoman for Belgium’s federal police said the legality of the bounty was a question for the judiciary.

This is the kind of thing I am talking about when I say the West is getting tired of appeasing the Mohammedans. Bans on their gender-seggregation tools are a first step. At some point, people are going to realize that Islam has a smuch place in the civilized world as the ravings of the Aztecs…
@ Iron Fist:
Agreed. Only the elites love Islam.

Real simple if she really wants to maintain her ‘modesty’ according to Islamic laws…go to an Islamic country where if you are raped you are stoned to death or if you are lucky you just get a life-sentence in prison.

Like everyone is just supposed to take their word for it? They could get 4 muslim males witnesses and I would still (ok especially then) doubt the identity of the hag in a bag.
this situation is just what a society ends up with when cheap labor is imported to make a few elites wealthy….slavery in the New World, the peonage system in Mexico and South America, and Muslim immigration into Europe…all have or will end badly…but I suppose some quasi-ultimate showdown with Islam is inevitable
I recently was conscripted to carry packages on a shopping spree. So we were in “Shoegasm” on 23rd st. … there was what appeared to be a family (the female side anyway) of Muslim tourists, 3 generations I am guessing, all fully covered shopping for shoes. The really hot slutty kind of shoes… there were 6 of them and they bought at least 30 pairs.

The truth about obamacare…..
Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.
To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care, particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of the medical profession.
The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of business, and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats, and most of them will not be healthcare professionals. Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.

Writers of pulp novels and newspapers made it out to be dangerous for the sole purpose of selling books and newspapers. It was in fact a very law abiding society with a very low crime rate.

But the fact that Obama’s surrogates can’t stick to the script may be the best barometer of his perilous incumbency. In the political jungle, where people tend to be more Darwinian than divine, he is wounded and the pack is beginning to turn. Former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell, who could be a hockey mom if he wore lipstick, recently told CBS’s Charlie Rose that Hillary Clinton would have been a better president.
Yes, that is blood you smell.
Zimriel wrote:
That notion is, well, mistaken. The Earp’s didn’t move to tombstone to clean up the crime, the “Crime Rate” in Tombstone before the Earp’s arrived, was, well by today’s standards, extremely low.
The thing to remember is, that most Western towns like Tombstone didn’t have any crime at all, so tombstone with it’s extremely low crime rate by comparison was crime infested. For a town in the “Wild Wast”.
If anything the Earp’s made the crime rate worse. They did the same thing here in San Diego California when they moved here after finally getting run out of Tombstone. Yes, Wyatt Earp is buried here in San Diego California. Robert Heinlein did his homework on the wild west before making his famous statement that an armed society is a polite society.
Northern Mexico, like all of Mexico is a heavily firearms restricted place. When guns are made illegal, only the government and criminals have guns. When only the government and the criminals have guns, everybody else in nothing more than a future victim.

Keep in mind this inconvenient little fact. America’s first significant gun restriction law was Miller v United States. That ruling was in 1930. The Wild West was long gone by then. The reason that Miller v US or any similar law didn’t happen earlier, was that a) Marxism hadn’t crept into the US until the 1910′s -- 20′s, and b) People who had actually lived in the Wild West or visited it knew that despite what was written in the pulp novels or newspaper the Wild West was actually a very law abiding crime free place.

Seems to me that in order to be a snitch of the despicable variety, one has to be in some sort of a position of trust with the person one rat’s on.
If I knew my brother was cheating on his income tax, and turned him to Revenue Canada, that would be snitching.
But if I see one of the enemy, dressed in a beekeeper suit, in a jurisdiction where the wearing of beekeeper suits is illegal, and I call it in (even if motivated by the bounty), I am just acting in defense of my way of life.
Make no mistake about it; those people are the enemy, and they have declared themselves to be so.
