Unless Congress is far more corrupt that anyone could possibly imagine, the hurt train is headed Obama’s way at about 200 miles per hour. Erick Holder at the Department of Injustice is going to try to pull a superman and jump in from of the hurt train. Jumping in front of a 200 mile per hour hurt train isn’t just a bad idea, it’s an insanely stupid idea, all they are going to find of Erick Holder after the hurt train hit’s him, are his shoes along the railroad tracks.

Pretty funny. Free Cocaine and hookers are ok to place on the budget as long as it’s explained to the taxpayers “IT’s for the children!”

@ 3 doriangrey: One would think Holder would resign. He helped kill Mexicans that didn’t need to be killed, just because of his gun control fetish. Linda Chavez was denied the national stage because of nanny problems.

@ 1 Prebanned: I can see how this video could become a cult meme and used to educate people about everything from watering their lawn to whether God exists or not. I am (always never) a fan of fake media genre built as weak satire, but I think this was great.

Satire and irony escape me especially now that I am always never on the internet. :-(

Thinking that Erick Holder would resign requires not recognizing just how corrupt Erick Holder is.

Althouse on The economy is fine

I find Althouse to be a good centrist to listen to. She was a lefty as a child and drifted center, not right. Lives in ultra lefty Madison, Wisconsin and teaches law. I find her cultural observations spot on. It’s almost as if she was educated in Cambridge. A little overly sensitive on womens issues but fine in analysis.

The darth vader narration would be saying “I have unelected people for less, why not you?”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia was growing increasingly concerned by the situation in Syria, but that it “will not sanction the use of force at the United Nations Security Council”.

“If the Syrians agree [about President Assad's departure] between each other, we will only be happy to support such a solution,” Mr Lavrov told a news conference.

You have no idea how radical parents are concerning their children when they play baseball. I saw this on display when both my boys play baseball. It is cut-throat and some parents think their kids are the next great super-star in sports. I can only imagine how much worse it has gotten. It was out of hand when my boys played baseball. I brought my own lawn chair and sat away from them. It is insane how some parents want to live their lives through their children.

Viral Internet story says Mitt Romney helped locate missing teen daughter of Bain Capital partner

“In July 1996, the 14-year-old daughter of Robert Gay, a partner at Bain Capital, had disappeared,” the story reads. “She had attended a rave party in New York City and gotten high on ecstasy. Three days later, her distraught father had no idea where she was. Romney took immediate action. He closed down the entire firm and asked all 30 partners and employees to fly to New York to help find Gay’s daughter. Romney set up a command center at the LaGuardia Marriott and hired a private detective firm to assist with the search. He established a toll-free number for tips, coordinating the effort with the NYPD, and went through his Rolodex and called everyone Bain did business with in New York and asked them to help find his friend’s missing daughter. Romney’s accountants at Price Waterhouse Cooper put up posters on street poles, while cashiers at a pharmacy owned by Bain put fliers in the bag of every shopper. Romney and the other Bain employees scoured every part of New York and talked with everyone they could – prostitutes, drug addicts – anyone.

“That day, their hunt made the evening news, which featured photos of the girl and the Bain employees searching for her. As a result, a teenage boy phoned in, asked if there was a reward, and then hung up abruptly. The NYPD traced the call to a home in New Jersey, where they found the girl in the basement, shivering and experiencing withdrawal symptoms from a massive ecstasy dose. Doctors later said the girl might not have survived another day. Romney’s former partner credits Mitt Romney with saving his daughter’s life, saying, ‘It was the most amazing thing, and I’ll never forget this to the day I die.’

Attacks on Conservative are Coming from Everywhere to Keep Obama in Office

In an earlier article I noted that the new film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter looks like it might be subtle attack on conservatives by comparing them to vampires who advocate a ‘states’ rights’ position.
Everywhere we go these days conservatives are under attack in less than subtle ways. Have you heard that SWAT teams have been sent to the homes of conservative bloggers?

I can only imagine. My sons played in the early 90′s and it was breath-taking unbelievable!!! I heard horrible comments form the parents about my sons. One was a okay player and the other was a natural. But I never forced them to play. They played because they wanted. The natural decided he had enough when he was 14. Fine by me.
Very nasty parents then and I can only imagine what it is like today. This runs the gamet of most sports boys play..I have heard horror stories about some parents kids playing football. The parents pay off (make donations) for their kids to play (high school level) and even just recently the pressure of one young kid (19) from his parents to play football at the college level … he killed himself. It is tragic to the extreme.

Obama Mega-Donor Bill Maher Accuses Republicans of “Treason” For Opposing Obama Economic Agenda…

It’s been some time since a United States citizen was tried and convicted of treason, a crime that carries some serious penalties, according to the U.S. Code:

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Perhaps HBO “Real Time” host Bill Maher doesn’t realize the seriousness of such a charge. On his Friday program, Maher elaborated on the suggestion he made in a tweet that President Barack Obama’s opponents are guilty of treason for blocking his economic initiatives.

Not a retread actually. There is some backstory tying in the franchises but this one is something altogether different and the ending alludes that this will spinoff into a completely different franchise.

I have my gripes but I will defer until a later time on those as to not post any spoilers. Not a perfect movie by any stretch or even a classic in Ridley Scott form but a very good movie nonetheless and beautifully shot.

NO, no, no, no, no….just no. AVP started off in video game land, made the franchise a joke and pretty much ruined it. It took the original director to come in and salvage it.

What would have been the icing on the cake is if Dan O’Bannon was still alive to work with Scott on this one, may he rest in peace.

Action wise yes but the first three were different types of movies.

Alien was a suspense/slasher type movie where the killer is just around the corner….or maybe not, hides in the shadows and picks everyone off one by one. It’s like Halloween in space.

Aliens was a straight up action movie.

Alien 3 was a gothic horror movie. Sort of like “The Keep” in space, only way better imo-anyone who’s seen that early 80′s movie knows what I’m talking about.

Indeed. Scott got that movie green-lighted and able to use a shoe-string budget and a minimalistic approach at making a damn fine movie but having Dan O’Bannon aboard was a big-time plus. You could almost say that Alien was a co-Scott/O’Bannon movie. That was a breakthrough movie for Scott and he could write his own paychecks after that. Cameron did the same thing basically with Aliens in a way.

Although the Terminator was his breakthrough movie, Hollywood wasn’t ready to give the guy an unlimited credit line and he had to come up with ingenious ways to save money and not skimp on plot, set pieces and special effects….which he didn’t.

I’ll post this bit of a spoiler since it doesn’t have anything to do with the plot of Prometheus: See how many original Alien set pieces you can spot in this movie, I spotted two but there could be more.

The first half of The Keep was awesome and very creepy and had the potential to be a classic even…..then Michael Mann decided the second half should be an MTV music video. No surprise he went on to do Miami Vice afterwards.

    @ brookly red:

Geiger did the concept art for the Alien creature and the derelict ship true, but the Nostromo was a work of art in itself and that credit goes to O’Bannon & Scott.

Never have I seen a movie where the actual ship felt real almost a star in the movie itself.

H.R. Geiger works on Prometheus too so Scott didn’t forget what made it all work in the first place.

Really if you have time…you should get the book, The Keep! Awesome to the extreme. I read it when I was younger…thought it was great.
So I decided to read it again a couple of years ago to confirm my thoughts it was awesome. Oh yes! I read a lot of books…the ones that stick out to me are the classic’s in my opinion and The Keep is one of them.

Yea, stayed for the end credits and his name was listed and not “based on” either. He actually worked on this film. He’s 72 and Scott is 77.

Two old-timers teaming up to put out a damn good sci-fi.

Doing sequels isn’t exactly Scott’s forte or m.o. so I don’t think he’ll do the Prometheus sequel (if there is one). Hopefully pass it off to someone just as competent so as not to ruin it.

He’s always alluded that his dream project was making a Joe Haldeman “Forever War” movie and I believe that’s what doing this one was about. Imo, “The Forever War” is probably the most epic sci-fi novel ever right next to Heinlein’s ‘Starship Troopers’. Perhaps this is his way of re-sharpen his sci-fi chops and get going on that since he’s so long in the tooth now.

He’s almost 80 after all and not getting any younger.

New push against militants in Somalia The man on the audio claimed to be Fuad Mohamed Khalaf, considered by the State Department to be Al-Shabaab’s leading fundraiser. The United States has offered $5 million for information of his whereabouts.

“Whoever brings the mujahidin information about the whereabouts of infidel Obama and the lady of Bill Clinton, the woman named Hillary Clinton, I will give a reward,” the man said.

Possibly, but keep in mind, anyone can draw a political agenda with any movie if they look hard enough. Tim Burton is doing this one so chances are it will be a better movie with him directing it but from the preview I saw during Prometheus this one looks like a novelty where the charm is going to where off about a half hour into it.

Even worse, in some polls he’s polling even or just slightly above Romney in places like California. I’m not predicting Reagan ’84 landslide here but if this keeps up he’s gonna get his butt seriously kicked come November if ACORN doesn’t come in for the save.

saw a link on Twitter that he green-lighted 450 million of our tax-money to go to ACORN…or whats left of it, or whatever name its going by now.

One other thing about going to see Prometheus. That was the first time I shelled out any money to go see a movie in a theater in at least three or four years and my movie going experience solidified the fact that no matter how bad I want to see a movie next time, wait for it to come out on video.

A whole half hour or better of commercials and previews (most of which sucked) and folks who still don’t know how to STFU and turn off their electronic devices.

We’re not too far away from the decision but don’t get your hopes up. For me it’s all or nothing as far as striking down the entire law.

For half of my marriage I worked very hard and pulled the extra-weight for my wife to waitress and do other odd low paying jobs to get a college education so she could get to the point where we would both be better off. For the other half of my marriage my wife has made more than me and I’ve never once felt inferior, effeminate or beta because of it.

Look at Wisconin…all the money they poured in there didn’t make a difference. All the people they bused in there didn’t make a difference. No people are fed up with this arrogant rogue military hating president.

This time though he has a record he has to defend.

Who would have thought that Mitt Romney actually had an inner Leonidas he could draw from? Turns out a guy I thought four years ago was a bigger squish than John McCain may have some piss & vinegar running through his veins.

Nobody could be a bigger squish than McCain.
