Create your own electoral map and my prediction as of June

Filed under Barack Obama, Democratic Party, Elections 2012, Mitt Romney, Progressives, Republican Party at June 21st, 2012 - 11:30 am

It’s time to put up or shut up. We have four months until the November 6th Election and its not too early to make your predictions. Here are mine.

Bobby Jindal will be Romney’s VP. This is a no brainer. He’s a successful executive as Governor of Louisiana. He can throw the BP oil spill in Obama’s face. He’s a real Conservative and balances out Mitt Romney’s Liberal Republicanism, thus reassuring the Right. He’s Indian and that would be historic to have a member’s of that ethnicity on a  ticket. Jindal is Catholic and that would shove Obama’s war on the Catholic Church in his face. Bobby Jindal is young and represents (hopefully) the future of the GOP.

I predict that the Republicans will win the Senate gaining 5 seats to bring their total up to 52, while the Democrats will be down to 47. The Republicans will hold the House of Representatives and will either lose 5 seats or gain 5-10 seats.

As for the Presidential election, I have Mitt Romney defeating the Pharaoh 52% – 47%. Romney will get 326 electoral votes to Obama’s 212 Electoral Votes.

Here is a link so you can make your own electoral predictions. I will do a new prediction come September.

Take a look at lgf’s before CJ gets up and deletes it all.
He put up a Rachale MadCow deal on how dumb Issa and the R’s are on F & F… but, down thread posters state that Holder has to go,, that others at ATF have to go, ref. to Sheryl Adkitson’s of CBS story of the meetings on “will it help gun control” ,,, in with this talk of guns by Austin Blue and others on SKS’s ect.

CJ will not be a happy boss of the blog when he wakes up….

    @ Flyovercountry:

Yes I have a reassessment. Romney has taken the fight to Obama. Plus Obama is not as formidable as I thought.

What are you predictions, I link to the map so you can do one too!

Fast and Furious scandal: House panel recommends contempt vote on Eric Holder

A congressional committee voted Wednesday to recommend that Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. be held in contempt after the Obama administration, citing executive privilege for the first time, refused to turn over documents pertaining to a botched gun-trafficking operation.

The party-line vote at a marathon session of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee intensified a feud between the Obama administration and Republican lawmakers and dealt an embarrassing blow to the nation’s highest-ranking law enforcement official.

I did this back in February:

    Romney 511!
    Обама 27 (IL, DC, HI)

I figured, someone here has to be doing some Wishful Thinking, so why the hell not!

  7. 8 | June 21, 2012 11:58 am

    @ Rodan:

I came up with 379 to 155, and I would not at all be surprised to see Obama win only Illinois, DC, and Maine.

Yep Rodan he has. Like I have always said…I know Romney is our only choice, but, and here is a big but I was praying and hoping he would be a whole lot better than we thought he would be. Guess what? He is bringing the game big time!

I think Califronia will be half red to be honest. All the hispanics living there are guess what? Catholic. Obama’s war on the Catholic Church and now the Baptist Church has come out that gay rights are NOT civil rights ….which they aren’t will not help obama at all.

Well, the Roma, for example, are perennially un-intergrateable, given the history of their persecution in Europe. I’m sorry, are you just generally ignorant of the treatment of Roma by European countries over time, or just about the specific France deporting them issue?

And as to integration; how much do you think the problem lies with xenophobia in French society making it hard for people to integrate-- especially Muslims, Jews, Roma, North Africans, and other non-Europeans-- and how much do you think it’s because of those groups holding onto their own cultures and mores?

Oh my! It must be snowing in hell!

CBS News Obtains Documents Showing Holder Used Fast And Furious Scandal To Justify Crackdown On 2nd Amendment Rights…

(CBS News) — Documents obtained by CBS News show that the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) discussed using their covert operation “Fast and Furious” to argue for controversial new rules about gun sales.

In Fast and Furious, ATF secretly encouraged gun dealers to sell to suspected traffickers for Mexican drug cartels to go after the “big fish.” But ATF whistleblowers told CBS News and Congress it was a dangerous practice called “gunwalking,” and it put thousands of weapons on the street. Many were used in violent crimes in Mexico. Two were found at the murder scene of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

ATF officials didn’t intend to publicly disclose their own role in letting Mexican cartels obtain the weapons, but emails show they discussed using the sales, including sales encouraged by ATF, to justify a new gun regulation called “Demand Letter 3″. That would require some U.S. gun shops to report the sale of multiple rifles or “long guns.” Demand Letter 3 was so named because it would be the third ATF program demanding gun dealers report tracing information.

On July 14, 2010 after ATF headquarters in Washington D.C. received an update on Fast and Furious, ATF Field Ops Assistant Director Mark Chait emailed Bill Newell, ATF’s Phoenix Special Agent in Charge of Fast and Furious:

“Bill – can you see if these guns were all purchased from the same (licensed gun dealer) and at one time. We are looking at anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long gun multiple sales. Thanks.”

If you were repulican you could only vote repulican. So you have a whole lot of democrats who vote republican. Obama to America: Screw the Second Amendment, I’ll take your guns by executive order.

Obama: We’re working on gun control “under the radar”

The statement reinforces an article in the Huffington Post describing how the administration is exploring ways to bypass Congress and enact gun control through executive action.

The Department of Justice reportedly is holding meetings discussing the White House’s options for enacting regulations on its own or through adjoining agencies and departments. “Administration officials said talk of executive orders or agency action are among a host of options that President Barack Obama and his advisers are considering. “

    The money quote.

The fatal flaw in DoJ’s explanation was this: if the Mexican authorities had not been brought into the operation, nor even the BATF’s own agents authorized to operate in Mexico, then the proffered DoJ justification made utterly no sense, for the simple reason that once those walked guns hit the south side of that border, there was absolutely no process in place to track them to their supposed targets. Therefore, DoJ was patently misrepresenting its motive. Why?

I’ve seen some jumping ship and some aren’t even going to the convention…I predict more will opt out of the convention as the summer moves on. Hey they have this albatross around their necks. If they try to remove him he’ll be a martyr and they will be precived as racists…I wouldn’t be surprised if obama brings down the democratic party in toto.

Romney calls for loosening some immigration restrictions, but opposes Obama action on deportations

Mitt Romney, who spent months attacking Republican primary rivals for being soft on illegal immigration, called Thursday for loosening some immigration restrictions and reiterated a proposal for a path to legal status for some in the United States illegally who have served in the military.

Romney said he wants to open the country to more legal foreign workers. But he said he did not plan on keeping in place the new order by President Obama halting deportations of hundreds of thousands of young illegal immigrants brought to the country when they were children.

”Today” show co-host Ann Curry interviews Adam Sandler about his movie \”Jack and Jill” in November.
CAPTIONFULLSCREEN Text Size PrintE-mailReprintsBy Lisa De Moraes, Thursday, June 21, 1:59 AMThe Washington Post One day before ratings come out that will probably show ABC’s morning infotainment program “Good Morning America” beat NBC’s “Today” show for the fifth week in the past 10 weeks, word got out that, to the surprise of no one, NBC News was working on a plan to do what almost always happens in these situations: replace the female co-anchor.

In this case it’s Ann Curry, the show’s former news reader who, after being passed over at least once, got the co-anchor gig only when Meredith Vieira vacated the job last June.

@ 78 Guggi: Well that is a problem right there interviewing Sandler about Jack and Jill. I remember Curry as getting out there in the field and working. But I never got a sense she had a voice.

    @ MacDuff:

You really trust the Republicans when it comes to Islam? Romney on Hannity 2 nights ago said he views Saudi Arabia and Turkey as good allies. He also came out in support of the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria. If you think I am lying, ask Speranza, he saw it when I did and we spoke by phone afterwards.

Look I’m voting for the guy, but its only to remove Obama.

Washington State could go Red but you would have to invest in the main markers with an anti Obama, anti teachers union message. There are only 3 counties that always sway the election to the Dems. Pierce, King, and Snohomish. Pierce and Snohomish are more blue collar with more welfare. King has all the lefties. That is Seattle.

@ 83 MacDuff: he might not, but at that high level of government there are entrenched organizations and people telling leaders its the right thing to do. They would tell a POTUS going against it is just a lot of bad publicity, and being for it results in neutral publicity. I’d be for it, then once in office clamp down on it.

  85. 88 | June 21, 2012 2:56 pm

    @ darkwords:

Bush in 2002 changed the Immigration Lottery Visas to allow more Muslims into America. Now our nation is flooded with Sonmalis and Pakistanis.

I just don’t get why people think the Republicans are strong on Islamic Imperialism. They are no different than the Democrats. They both support the Muslim Brotherhood.

I do like cross posting, but I also (purely for greedy self interest reasons) prefer to wait a couple of days after they go up on my site.

Romney wins in less than a landslide but more than a squeaker, we take the Senate narrowly and increase the majority in the House. That said, I’m wary that Obama’s not the moron he appears to be now; it could get really weird.
