QUICK! HIDE!

You’re in a restaurant, you hear someone blurt out, “Hey, I know that guy!”
You know they’re referring to you, and that it’s probably not good. There’s only one thing to do – hide. Happens to me all the time, and I love it.

The subsequent yelling and slapping part followed by a ride to the police station isn’t much fun, but it’s well worth it, especially when it happens on
The Overnight Open Thread.

Yeah. Poppa was discharged to rehab yesterday afternoon, and it don’t look good. I’m not in the best of spirits, so I’m going to be quiet for a while.

No worries, catch up when you can, blogs aren’t the IRQ chat world (not a bad thing). This is the limit of social media that I’m willing to participate in (and sporadically at that).

Only saw them twice myself. So much of their art resonates with me that I can’t help but offer ones that strike me at the moment. Very emotional overall.

Given that he’s a completely fabricated character, I’m not even sure what that means.

Part of it. We’re still not sure what happened, except that Poppa couldn’t get out of his chair, was on the floor for several days before we knew something was wrong. Scary as shit. At least he’s still talking and joking.

Warning to any of you folks with elderly parents living on their own -- check in on them daily, just in case.

Have to talk to the HR lady today about visa application timing. The little info I have appears to suggest I will never be here long enough at one stretch to get the job done. Ugh. It wasn’t this hard the last time here… Thank you Presidente Morales.

On a related note, I see the PRI is going to take over Mexico again. That ought to help…

    @ lobo91:

Still off my “will travel” list unless and until I see huge security improvements. A pity -- Reynosa in particular was pretty good duty, and Villahermosa was tolerable. Vera Cruz, Poza Rica, Tampico and Cd. de Pemex, not so much.

Just a suggestion: On July 4, there’s a move to have the Declaration of Independence read all across America. What about doing a ‘Live’ edition where we can call in & read a section?

    That is a fantastic idea!

Well, the reading of the Declaration of Independence is a great idea in itself, of course, but your idea just made it even better. seeing as how it will most likely be raining here and in the low 90s, it’ll probably be too cool for me to be in the pool so i’m in! :-)

thanks. it’s definitely a problem. staying home today due to the pain and swelling. it’s weird. the pain isn’t even where the surgery was. i’m sure it’s just that i’m now trying to use a muscle in a normal way after 2+ months of hobbling around on it.
