good night folks.
@ Kirly:
Didn’t know he had a show. Any F-bombs yet?
Bunk X wrote:
You probably wouldn’t like Holger, he uses like words and stuff, and has like you know actual ideas an stuff, not much of the excited animal gruntin you’re used to…

I like Holger, but I listened enough to decide that I didn’t like the “God Doesn’t Like Homos” crap.

The chat room was a mess.

too bad since that was a very small portion of the show.
Hmm…I wonder how long this connection will last?

Perhaps, but I heard it loud and clear.
Hey Rodan! This is for you.
@ Bunk X:
OK, that was pretty cool. When was that recorded?
Damn…I finally have a working internet connection, and now I have to spend the day teaching class.
It’s a conspiracy…
@ AZfederalist:
No idea. I just found out about them last night.

Never teach class. Teach honor.

Oh, sorry to hear that. Taking those annual refresher training sessions stinks, can’t imagine what it must be like to have to teach them. I have those categorized in my organizer as “hours of my life I’d like back”
lobo91 wrote:
ROTFLMAO… I bet I used to hate having to attend those classes as much if not more than you hate teaching them.
@ AZfederalist: I think he said teh “vajayjay” word.
@ doriangrey:
The “refresher courses” in my field are a joke. The folks required to take them are usually more qualified and knowledgeable than the people teaching them.
Stardust.
Bunk X wrote:
No different here.
I have two of the guys who run the post’s Hazardous Waste storage site in class today.
One nice thing about being a consultant -- you very rarely have to attend a class -- even when you need it. Get to miss most meetings, too. Except the safety meetings…
US declares Afghanistan major non-NATO ally, as Clinton makes unannounced visit
@ Mike C.:
I sure don’t miss all the required classes we had in the military.
It was really ridiculous in the Reserves, because we had the same requirements as the active duty people. Someone added up all the required training once, and it totaled up to more hours than we had available in the year (24 8 hour days).

Must be a new kind of “special ally” /// The ally who kills you…..
The “special ally” bit just means we get to give them shit, which is the sole objective here. It has no military meaning…
@ Mike C.:
Strike “we” and insert “the administration.”
@ Mike C.:
Since Afghanistan and the area which we know as Afghanistan today respectively was never able in her history to sustain herself
who will pay for the military equipment ?
@ Guggi:
Take a wild guess…
@ Guggi:
The part of that article that made me laugh was the International Donors who were worried about corruption and how there donations were being spent.
There is no such thing like honor in the Afghan people -- they switch sides faster than you’ll realize it. The elites are corrupt and the only thing which counts for them is money.
Nice special ally:
Afghan woman publicly executed near Kabul

Yes, she was an adultress or raped by the Taliban.
Nice way to solve the problem.

Yeah, we and (in particular) the U.S.A. pay for the (military and police) equipment and train them and the beneficiaries of the supposed mineral deposites are the Chinese while our jobs go to China.
How long do the Germans now train the police in Kosovo without any visible success ? Does really any one believe this would be different in Afghanistan ?
@ Calo:
The scarry thing is that it happened so near Kabul. How long and Kabul will be a stronghold of the Taliban again ?
@ Guggi:
I am just your average, uninformed US citizen.
We let the Taliban win with our ROE implemented onto our military.
In Kabul there is a single driving school for women. Every time they go out for practizing they are stopped by the police who can’t believe that a woman is allowed to drive.

Yup and the biggest mistake was the choice for McChrystal. He turned the already bad situation into an even worse one by breaking all the rules he himself had implemented for the special forces in Iraq because he was unable to adapt them to a multi-national, multi-tasking force of more than hundred thousends.

Hey Mac, how are you?
The heat here has caused a lot of problems, even deaths.
I have a tolerance for heat & I remind myself that Winter
will come. Once ther are no little kids in the house to
sled with etc, I have no interest in Winter.
Winter is the price you pay for fall…

Good morning.
First,to everyone who yammered about Falling Skies, THANK YOU. I got the first season on DVD and I’m addicted.
Next: Here in the DC area, the heat is murderous. 105 yesterday. I did all my ‘outside’ errands in the morning and was home by 9:30am. Today I left the house when it was still dark. The grocery shopping is done, the birds are taken care of, the dog has been walked. Back inside by 7:30 am. Yesterday, we turned the sprinkler system on several times so the birds could enjoy some mist. The poor things were just standing around with their little beaks open and we have only one bird bath(which the robins, thugs that they are, hogged). We’ll probably need to do it again today.

if you had stayed and listened to the rest of the show, which you can still do at BTR archive, you would see that you’d probably enjoy and agree with about 99% of it. Too bad you made a knee jerk judgement like that.
@ Kirly:
Yeah, maybe I jumped too soon. Apologies.
