Actually mate I am getting just a tad concerned about the Home of the Brave and Land of the Free. You guys seem to have let the neighborhood slide somewhat in the freedom stakes.

You seem to be turning out morons from your schools in increasing numbers and they all have the entitlement syndrome as well.

    Tell me about it.

I figure that this all started in the ’60s when a long term plan was hatched to turn out morons who depended on State largesse for survival.

Then the Right started out breeding the Left so the lefties has to screw the scrum a bit more to ensure that they had a job for life.

Now with the Greens gaining power and the growing gap between the haves and have nots, the leftist propaganda taught in schools under the guise of a Nationanl Curriculum and our growing “refugee” problem, we will be no better off than the USA in several years.

The controversy (in England!) over The Life of Brian:

That’s the first part of four. The debate itself starts in the later clips. Malcolm Muggeridge himself steps in . . . on the prosecution.

Personally I thought that the movie wasn’t nearly as blasphemous as certain people portrayed it. Yes, it had the form a parody of the Gospels in the key of Toledot Yeshu. What it actually parodied was the Left, and the gullible masses, and even Islam (the stoning scene).

  30. Aussie Infidel
    31 | July 10, 2012 11:48 pm

    But THAT’s THE PLAN mate.

Still even the left wing of Labor seems to have finally realized that the Greens are not there to ‘help’ Labor but to bury it.

A preference agreement between the Coalition and Labour would see the communists err Greens destroyed at the polls.

I Know I’m a dreamer but I’m still kinda hoping that someone from the right wing of Labor sees that by having an election in 2012 will help staunch the blood loss from Labor and perhaps even save it from extinction. Well not in Queensland … Labor in the far North and West are already just going through the Zombie phase before getting the lid nailed shut on their coffins :)

Yeah, as if the G20 in Brisbane will help the Labor vote in Queensland. Not going to happen.

Down here in Victoria, we have labor backpedaling furiously to try and get rid of the Greens but I don’t think it will work. It’s like a marriage gone bad, suddenly they’re calling their lovers of yesterday crazy freaks.

I doubt a preference agreement between the coalition and labor under Julia will ever happen. Too much has been said…

What happened to Colorado is very sad. (You should hear my dad! “What do you expect from a state and city run by Hickenpooper and Hancock!”) It still has some straight thinking people, which is why its such an important state in the upcoming election.
New York is a great place to visit and I have lots of family there. Unfortunately, there are so many things wrong with it that I can’t tolerate being there for longer than 2 weeks at a time. What they need is Rudy Gulioni to become Governor.

I still can’t understand how politicians actually function. They look like normal human beings but obviously are not. Had a debate with a newbie political type. The Member for the seat alongside mine. He’s still a backbencher so he’s still breathing through his nose so far.

Still be had already been infected with the parliamentary virus. The symptoms include taking an inordinate amount of time to say … well nothing really. Couldn’t look me in the eye when he was talking. Using BS jargon when just good simple English would suffice (he seemed to think that by trying to baffle me with POL-speak would raise his standing with me. IT DIDN’T).

And he was supposed to be one of the good guys.

Frankly I think they put something in the water in the House to turn all the denizens into simpletons.

  56. 57 | July 11, 2012 12:17 am

Okay, John Cleese lost me with that snide interruption in part 2 about the Inquisition and “Germany”(!).

I wish that the “prosecution’s” case had been made by younger men. They’d have picked up on that quicker. Shit, I picked up on it as a scummy cheap shot and I’m a secularist.

But that sneer by Cleese proves that the Monty crew knew what they were doing by setting this parable in the lifetime of Christ. They intended to write a piece that undermined the Christian religion.

In my opinion they didn’t succeed at it. A Christian would say that that’s because the Monty lads’re just not talented enough to face off against Christ. (They’re barely talented enough to make sense of the Toledoth Yeshu.) But even a secularist has to admit -- and in the first part the cast did admit -- that there’s nothing funny about what Christ taught. You take Jesus seriously or else… you do what Nietzsche did and oppose what Jesus said, and you still take him seriously.

What the Python crew had to do instead was to parody the mess that was first-century Judaea. And yes -- the place was a complete clusterf*. The archetypal Jewish patriot and traitor Josephus himself admitted as much. But then you’re left with admiring the saints that came out of there, which include Jesus and (for the Jews) other rabbis who weren’t corrupted by the will to power, or by Roman gold.

So, I guess, that’s how I’m going to have to treat Life of Brian -- a classic by accident.

And going back to Who Lost Britain: there’s that BBC in the 1970s.

They let in the hip, trendy and witty Monty Python crew first; they let the comedians crack jokes and ingratiate themselves with the audience. Then they wheeled in these 80-something fossils, these sad old men from the pre-war generation; they could not hope to keep up.

The message was that Christianity is for old people and dead people; culture is for old people and dead people; England is for old people and dead people.

Just found out that a muslim girl has moved in with my son and his girlfriend.

The girlfriend is a kind hearted soul and took pity on her.

She is a manipulating Omani from a wealthy family who has =been pretending to study here in NZ whilst sowing her wild oats. She and her sister have just applied for refugee status because ‘daddy’ has found out that his girls have been working in a bar as waitresses as well as dating a Jewish guy here in NZ.

The money supply has been turned off and the sh*t has hit the fan.

This is strange to me. I know (second hand) some Omanis. They aren’t Sunni or Shi`a. They’re Ibadis -- descendent from the Khawarij. Omani terrorism is as rare as Ismaili terrorism these days. They might even prefer that their baby girl dated a Jew over, say, a Saudi.

About the Ibadi beliefs from wikipedia:
Their views assimilate that of the Kharijites, in which they believe that the attitude of a true believer to others is expressed in three religious obligations:

walāyah: friendship and unity with the practicing true believers, and with the Ibadi Imams.
barā’ah: dissociation (but not hostility) towards unbelievers and sinners, and those destined for Hell.
wuqūf: reservation towards those whose status is unclear.

WE know some brides and grooms have become so high-maintenance that they’re referred to in the wedding trade as bride and groomzillas…but honestly, has planning for a wedding gotten so hard it needs to be treated like a disease?

America’s eminent safety body, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention sure thinks so, and has just issued prospective spouses with an official CDC Wedding Day Survival Guide. Coming out just as the US summer wedding season kicks in, it suggested that “planning for a wedding isn’t that much different fro planning for a disaster”. Even if you’re not a Kardashian.

    2011 vs 2012

A growing global food shortage has caused prices to double in recent years, and a growing consensus of scientists now blames climate change as one factor in an equation that includes a burgeoning population and increasingly scarce water supplies. More people around the planet are going hungry as a result.

Robert Roy Britt, LiveScience 5 June 2011

The world is expected to harvest the largest ever crop of cereals in 2012-13 according to an estimate released by the UN affiliated Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) recently. It is estimated that this year’s world cereal production will be a record 2371 million tonnes, marking a 1 percent, or 27 million tonnes increase over 2011.

    Sauce for the goose..

Disclosure forms reveal that Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a member of Congress from Florida, previously held funds with investments in Swiss banks, foreign drug companies, and the state bank of India…

It’s been a consistent theme of Obama’s reelection strategy: Attack Romney for foreign investments he held, especially in Swiss bank accounts, “to try to promote his wealthy, out-of-touch businessman persona.”

But disclosure forms reveal that in 2010, Wasserman Schultz invested between $1,001-$15,000 in a 401k retirement fund run by Davis Financial Fund. As the fund discloses, it is invested in the Julius Baer Group Ltd. and the State Bank of India GDR Ltd., as well as other financial, insurance, bank institutions…

Similarly, according to disclosure forms from 2004, Wasserman Schultz had holdings in the Fidelity Advisor Overseas Fund. That fund is invested in HSBC bank (a British financial institution), Hengdeli Holdings (a Hong Kong watch company), Novo Nordisk (a Danish drug company), Volkswagen (a German auto company), Rakuten (a Japanese shipping business), Richemont Cie Financiere (a Swiss luxury goods company), and many others.

To be clear, there is nothing in Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s disclosure forms to suggest that the DNC chair invested in anything illegal. But it is clear that some of her holdings had investments overseas, in Swiss banks, foreign drug companies, the state bank of India, and many other overseas holdings.

“On average, the UK faces hotter, drier summers and warmer, wetter winters as a result of climate change”.

    and

… average summer temperatures in the UK could rise between three and four degrees Celsius. Heatwaves and torrential rain resulting in floods are likely to become more common. On average, summers will be drier and winters wetter.

Hmm….because of climate change it will become warmer but since it is colder it must be climate change. My head spins….

    @ MacDuff:
They are demonizing Romney’s success & appealing to
    hyper class envy.
The guy earned his money & none of these investments
or alleged bank accounts are illegal.

Getting ready to board. It has been a good morning so
far. What could really ruin my day is some guy screaming
“Allah Akbar” & rushing the cockpit.
    I hate when that happens.
    See ya.

    Top o’ da mornin’, RIX.

They can play that card, but Americans don’t take that well to class warfare -- the lion’s share of our mega-rich came from pretty humble roots. I wonder how many congressional Democrats will like their personal finances aired in public?

    @ Guggi:
And the climate has never changed before, has it? Climate is a constant, like air conditioning, only on a global scale. Science!

And they call those who are sceptical of this “climate change”-scam unscientific

    @ Guggi:
“Unscientific” is like RAAAAACIST. It has no real meaning other than that a Leftist wants you to shut up.

Yeah, the thread, she’s dead, but here’s an excellent piece on ObamaCare by Dr. Marc Siegel (oft seen on Fox News).

    It’s well worth the read.

    @ Aussie Infidel:
So she is mentally ill, a victim of islam. Brainwashed, but fighting it in some respects. The woman needs help, not condemnation. She needs to be taken in by a Christian group and deprogrammed, same as is done with victims of other cults.

She should not remain in your son’s household, neither should she be left to her own devices, because the probable result of that is kidnap or murder by her father.
