Housecats have absolutely no class. Thank God they can’t use the internest because we’d be all like DOOOOOMED* and stuff – the only thing you could Google would be Norsk Skogkatts, YouTube would have only one music video, and they’d likely crap all over The Overnight Open Thread.

    @ coldwarrior:
Rap makes me feel like I’m having a stroke. But seriously. I’ve had exactly 3 migranes in my life -- the first at about age 15 and the last about 25 years ago. Each time I described the symptoms that I was experiencing, the people around me, including my parents, thought I was having a stroke. I remember that the splitting headache was on one side of my head and I felt a numbness in my arm on the opposite side. Also tunnel vision. Very strange.

Hmmm. Thanks for the link, but I’m more inclined to think that what I had were migraines as they happened at ages 15, 23 and 35. I’m not even sure about the last one but I distinctly remember the first 2. The only thing I could do was lie down until it went away. I’m not diabetic. Maybe I should drink more. Ya think?

    @ huckfunn:

I very occasionally get these things called “cluster headaches” that make me feel similar. They put me on my back.

The only thing that I’ve found that helps them is ergotamine tartrate, and you have to ask for it because it’s pretty tightly controlled due to the ergot I suppose.

    @ huckfunn:
The tunnel vision, was it accompanied by a strobing sensation, as if you were looking through the blades of a big slow-turning fan?

Any sense of dread or foreboding? I had a few anxiety attacks, and that’s how they played out. No headaches, though.

That makes sense. I can remember the 2 that I had and they were totally debilitating. Nothing to do by lie down and hope that it will go away or hope for death. Either would be acceptable.

    @ coldwarrior:

Psilocybin has additionally shown promise to ease the pain caused by cluster headaches, often considered not only the most painful of all types of headaches[154] but “one of the worst pain syndromes known to mankind.”[155] In a 2006 study,[156] half of cluster headache patients reported that psilocybin aborted the attacks, and most reported extended remission periods; similar results were reported for LSD.[152] A 2011 review of alternative headache treatments concluded that, despite flaws in the study design, these results suggest that LSD and psilocybin may warrant further study for use in the prevention of cluster headaches—only subhallucinogenic doses of the drugs are required for effective treatment, and no other medications have been reported to stop a cluster headache cycle.

Now if they’d only put in a pill so I wouldn’t have to go picking through cow patties with a headache that makes me want to rip my own head off!!

One of my brothers had a KZ900. I think that it was the fastest production bike at the time, about 1977. I drove it a couple of times… unlimited torque. The primary reason that brother is still alive is that the bike was stolen and he had no insurance.

When I sold the Caddie I fully intended to buy a bike. My neighbor 2 doors down is a retired full bird colonel who used to drive Cobras in Nam. He’s now about 77. About 6 years ago he bought some hotass Kawasaki, put about 8,000 miles on it and he hasn’t been on it in about 3 years. He wants to sell it. I could probably get that sucka for about $6k.

Damn near like sex. At any rate, a couple of months ago that neighbor came by when I was out at the mailbox. He was driving a canary yellow Boxter. I haven’t seen him since, so maybe I’ll wander down there and see if he still has the bike. I’ll take some pics.

took a very scared 52yo indian male off of the helicopter, right sided with expressive aphasia, right facial droop and uncoordinated/weakened RUEandRLE, straight up fear in his eyes, that was at 1400, by end of shift at 1900 i had him joking around and relaxed. his kids saw him go on the helicopter and then didnt see him until after we had him stable in the room. hey were quite shocked by the improvement.

he is for EKG, MRA MRI EEG and speech in the AM. with neuro workup.

i am very familiar with indian food and culture so he felt comfortable with me. before i left for the day i went into his room to check up and he was all ‘my friend’ a ‘good man here’. i was kind of embarrased by the praise. the work doenst start till tomorrow…and i wont be there.

I don’t doubt that one bit. We are a very rich country when it comes to just resources. The only thing holding us back from once again being the World’s richest Nation is really lousy leadership. And Baby Doc Baraq is not the first bad leader we had to suffer through.
