When Parody Already Is Reality

So James O’Keefe has done it again. This time he has taken the time and trouble to fabricate a new business, “Earth Supply and Renewal,” that does nothing more than dig holes in the Earth, by shovel, and then fill those holes in again. He makes it clear that his business accomplishes absolutely nothing, and in fact only creates hazards in order to solve the very problems created by his faux business.

In typical O’Keefe fashion, there are, or should be plenty of clues sufficient for the barely conscience observer to recognize the farce of what our undercover reporters are attempting to pull off. In typical liberal fashion, the bait is swallowed whole, and the star crossed eyes of our organizing thugs see huge amounts of cash which can be bilked from the taxpayer’s cow.

You can find the unedited raw footage of this encounter by clicking here.

One of the reasons our Union Thugs, and by the way an elected County Official, did not catch on to this obviously ridiculous ruse is that there are already multiple examples of this currently in practice literally everywhere around the country. This is the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in action. Tearing up roads around the country that were not in need of repair, and then repairing the damage done by the crews whose job it was to do damage to roads in perfectly fine shape.

Our elected official staring in this O’Keefe sting, John Hutchings, informs our young entrepreneurs that their idea is almost exactly like Green Jobs, Green New York. In that $112 Million boondoggle, the citizens of New York received the privilege of paying about $30 apiece for a sufficient supply of 2 packs of cfl bulbs, and had a team of three people enter their homes to have their light bulbs changed for them. Don’t worry though the staggering cost of the new bulbs will be split up over a 3 year period and appended to their electric bill, and all of this on top of the tax burden paying for the light bulb changing technicians hired and then included in the Obama Green jobs accounting.

The other two gentlemen at the table would be Anthony Tocci and his brother Ron Tocci. Anthony is a union leader and Ron is a former politician who now specializes in getting government grants for boondoggle projects, such as the baloney he is being pitched here. They are happy to drop names of influential decision makers that they are chummy with who can help get the gravy train rolling and producing cash. They let it be known that there is plenty of the tax payer’s cabbage to be had, and that getting the money granted to them was the real priority for their bilking operation. How to divide it up amongst the various constituents at the table could be dealt with later.

I once had a debate with a government employee in which I stated that governments create nothing, they only receive their wealth by forced confiscation from those who do produce. He informed me, with confidence by the way, that governments produce happy societies. That happy memory found its way to the surface of my mind while watching this farce.

Kudos by the way to Chris Christie, the Republican Governor of New Jersey, for his state being mentioned as a place where the well of legally stolen tax payer funds has dried up. The opposite of kudos for Chuck Schumer, for being mentioned by our Union crooks as being a one man tax payer’s supplied wealth spigot. His name is offered by one of the Toccis as being their personal ATM for the people’s account. Just to put the cherry on top of this one, there is a picture with one of the Toccis, Bill Clinton, and Chuck Schumer posing for a photo op which is seen on the way out of the building.

What all of this is of course, is the broken window fallacy fat, out of control, and now looming as a menace which threatens to inflict economic collapse upon us by 2027. The mistaken belief that spending taxpayer’s money for no other purpose than to spend tax payer’s money will in some way stimulate the economy has been proven false so many times that I must accuse anyone who posits this belief as being weapons grade stupid. While the theory sounds plausible in college class rooms all around the country, it has never worked, any where at any of the Thousands of times that it’s been tried.

For the, “we just didn’t do it big enough crowd,” like Chuck Schumer, how much bigger than adding $1 Trillion to our baseline budgeting figures would it have to be? That already crushes all previous spending records for the entirety of human history. Yet, somewhere on my television tonight, Paul Krugman will make an appearance to tell me that spending money in preparation for a space alien invasion that will never occur is one of the best ways to stimulate our economy. What’s truly amazing is that this man once one a Nobel Prize for economics. Alfred Nobel must be spinning furiously at the farcical nature with which his memory is now associated.

I have to admit that the Union guys who were bullshitting O’Keefe were, in a macabre sort of fashion, kinda funny….

Butch and Sundance agree. My internet was working fine this morning but my water was off. Busted main about a mile up the highway. Fortunately I also have a water well and am able to fill buckets to flush the toilets.

There’s something about the Joker that makes people crazy. When I went to go see the 1989 Batman with Michael Keaton I saw an incident. @ brookly red:

The maniac accused of slaughtering 12 moviegoers will likely try to dodge the death penalty with a desperation insanity defense — but legal experts say he has little chance of avoiding the needle.
Prosecutors are sitting on a mountain of evidence that could put James Holmes on death row, including aggravating factors like his obvious premeditation and the fact that he targeted multiple victims and children.

“To get to the death penalty, you have to have at least one aggravating factor,” said Craig Silverman, former prosecutor in the Denver District Attorney’s Office who is now in private practice.

“You’ve got at least 12 counts of coldblooded, super-premeditated first-degree murder.”

It would be difficult for a defense attorney to argue that Holmes didn’t pre-plan the massacre.

The 24-year-old bought four guns and over 6,000 rounds of ammunition in the last two months and dressed in bulletproof gear beforehand, authorities said.

He spent three weeks rigging his apartment with explosives, sources said.

To mount a successful insanity defense, the attorney representing Holmes must show that he could not tell the difference between right and wrong and that he does not understand the charges against him.

“He would have to prove that he lacked the capacity to distinguish right from wrong,” Silverman said. “Insanity would apply if this guy really thought he was a character in a movie.”

Arapahoe County District Attorney Carol Chambers would not be reluctant to pursue capital punishment.

“Arapahoe County pursues about 80 percent of the death-penalty cases in Colorado,” said Kornfeld.

“The DA in Arapahoe County is madly in love with the death penalty,” added Denver lawyer David Lane.

I haven’t heard anyone who knew him coming out and saying that he was nuts or anything, and he was apparently a top student.

Paranoid schizophrenia is one of the most common forms of schizophrenia and is characterized by prominent persecutory or grandiose delusions and auditory hallucinations “related to the content of the delusional theme.” In some patients, delusions organized around other themes such as jealousy, religiosity, or somatization (sexual or other body sensations) can also occur. This type of schizophrenia does not include disorganized speech and behavior, but patients affected by it exhibit anxiety, anger, aloofness, and argumentativeness. Individuals with paranoid schizophrenia may display a superior and patronizing attitude, and due to the persecutory and grandiose nature of their delusions and hallucination, they are predisposed to suicide and violent behavior. The onset age for this form of schizophrenia is later in life than other types and it tends to have a better prognosis “particularly with regard to occupational functioning and capacity for independent living.”

The semiautomatic assault rifle used by the gunman jammed during the attack, a federal law enforcement official told The Associated Press, which forced the shooter to switch to another gun with less fire power.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to in order to discuss the investigation, said the disabled weapon had a high-capacity ammunition magazine. Police have said that a 100-round drum magazine was recovered at the scene and that such a device would be able to fire 50 to 60 rounds a minute.

Leaving aside the fact that there’s no such thing as a “semiautomatic assault rifle,” he made the same mistake Loughner did: buying cheap high capacity magazines. Probably Chinese crap.

I guess we should be thankful for incompetent mass murderers…

I am the furthest thing there is from a firearms expert, but even I know that 50-60 rounds per minute is not a high rate of fire. I could probably beat that with a bolt-action rifle if I was not concerned with accuracy.

The important fact about a large capacity magazine is that it enables a shooter to maintain a moderate rate of fire for a full minute or more, which is a Hell of a long time in a situation like that.

Note that punishment needs to be both cruel and unusual to be un-Constitutional. The purpose of the Amendment is to prevent certain individuals being singled out for outrageous punishment because of their status in society or lack thereof. So, hanging a guy because he keyed your car, while the guy who keyed mine gets a $200 fine, is right out.

Hanging people for murder is undeniably cruel, but as long as it’s the usual punishment for murder, or a particular subset of murders, it’s not un-Constitutional.

One problem I could see with death by lethal injection, is the possibility of a corrupt penal system faking an execution; faking it well enough to fool the witnesses, even. Give the condemned enough drugs to put him in a deep coma, let the witnesses watch him “die” from behind a window, and then revive him when the “corpse” is hauled off for the mandatory “autopsy”.

And if you cannot get any volunteers for a particular execution, then maybe, just maybe, you should revisit the trial. I know I would willingly volunteer to pull the trigger on that James Holmes puke, or Nidal Hasan, for example, but if a crooked court railroaded George Zimmerman into a death sentence, I wouldn’t answer the call.
