The Colombia-Israel military relationships continue to get stronger. Israel’s Elbit Systems will sell Hermes UAV’s to Colombia.
Israel’s Elbit Systems has won a multi-million-dollar contract to supply a mixed fleet of Hermes 900 and 450 unmanned air systems to Colombia.
Elbit had previously disclosed only that the contract, to be fulfilled over the next two years, was with a “Latin American” country. But sources within the Israeli defence establishment confirm the deal with Colombia is a “government-to-government” contract.
With the Merkava IV tank and these UAV’s in their inventory, Colombia is clearly going for regional hegemony. All they are missing is air superiority fighters. Rumors are they in talk with Russia for this.

Israel is the Silicon Valley of the Middle East while the rest of the region, even if they pooled their resources, couldn’t muster the wherewithal to engineer a paper clip -- they can’t even assemble the imported components of their crude IEDs without frequent “workplace accidents”.
Two paws up!
