    I can’t wait -- November can’t come soon enough..

Was talking to a hard core Republican today in Texas…
He fears Obama may yet win again in November and is gearing up for inflation, yadada and all that small talk.

I expressed the notion that R & R just might beat out the Cult of The First Black President.

    Many people are disillusioned.

*some days I hate talking to my father about politics*

The wreck of the ship that carried Captain Robert Scott on his doomed expedition to the Antarctic a century ago has been discovered off Greenland.

A crew from the Schmidt Ocean Institute discovered the Terra Nova whilst testing echo-sounding equipment aboard its flagship vessel -- the R/V Falkor.

One of the scientists noticed an unidentified feature during sonar mapping of the sea bed.

Team members then noted that the 57m length of the feature matched the reported length of the Terra Nova.

A camera package called Shrimp was sent down to film the wreck
Technicians dropped a camera package called Shrimp to just above the presumed wreck to film it.

Camera tows across the top of the target showed the remains of a wooden wreck lying on the seabed

Not my favorite by these guys, but from their original album. Worked backstage for them for a number of concerts in Scottsdale. Midnight Song is one of my favorites but can’t find it streaming. Their Debut album “Turning Point” is the best of course.

    another decent one

Of all these female rulers, though, none has aroused so much controversy, or wielded such great power, as a monarch whose real achievements and character remain obscured behind layers of obloquy. Her name was Wu Zetian, and in the seventh century A.D. she became the only woman in more than 3,000 years of Chinese history to rule in her own right.

The Tang emperor Taizong was the first to promote Wu, whom he gave the nickname “Fair Flatterer”–a reference not to her personal qualities but to the lyrics of a popular song of the day.

Wu (she is always known by her surname) has every claim to be considered a great empress. She held power, in one guise or another, for more than half a century, first as consort of the ineffectual Gaozong Emperor, then as the power behind the throne held by her youngest son, and finally (from 690 until shortly before her death in 705) as monarch. Ruthless and decisive, she stabilized and consolidated the Tang dynasty at a time when it appeared to be crumbling–a significant achievement, since the Tang period is reckoned the golden age of Chinese civilization. T.H. Barrett’s recent book even suggests (on no firm evidence) that the empress was the most important early promoter of printing in the world.

And that is your entertainment for the evening from me.

    Good. Nite.

    Don’t let the ovcharkas bite.

The Arab Spring takeover of Egypt by the Muslim Brotherhood has run amok, with reports from several different media agencies that the radical Muslims have begun crucifying opponents of newly installed President Mohammed Morsi.

Drudge is reporting that the MB is crucifying suspected
    opponents of Morsi.
They are taking place outside of the presidential palace
with particular focus on Copt Christians.

    Good Morning All

    found this in my email

    Asalaam alaykum,

Zakat Al-Fitr provides the poor and destitute with the means to join in the celebration of Eid Al-Fitr along with the rest of the Muslim community.

Every Muslim, young or old, male or female, is required to pay Zakat Al-Fitr at the end of Ramadan by way of gratitude to Allah for having helped him/her to observe the obligatory fast

pay up or Allah will send you to hell
