This just in from the “Duh, ya think?” department- Halperin: “The Media Pretty Much Does What The Obama Campaign Wants”

What? Are you kidding me? Say it ain’t so, Mark! The mainstream liberal media is very susceptible to doing what the Obama campaign wants? Color me shocked!

We all know that that bastion of fairness and respect to Republicans, AKA (also known as) the mainstream media, AKA the committee to re-elect the President, will do exactly what the Obama regime asks them.

This doesn’t surprise anyone, but it is good to hear more voices from the liberal media admitting that they’re biased for the dumocrats, instead of going into contortions and doing back flips trying to prove they have no bias.

During the 2008 Presidential campaign, McCain was being as helpful to the media as he could be by being on time for trips and keeping the press comfortable as they covered him.

Obama would leave the fawning media stranded for hours as he deviated from his schedule and then put the same fawning media on a dirty plane.

Obama could do whatever he wanted to them because they were going to fawn over him no matter what while trashing McCain who treated the press well.

The same shoddy treatment of supporters is why Obama didn’t feel the need to show up at the NAACP convention although he had nothing else to do on that day.

When Obama has people in his pocket, he treats them badly (or at the very least, he takes them for granted).

It’s possible that the people in the so called mainstream media use the nitwits on MSNBC as a standard of comparison. Maddow, Schultz, McDonald and the rest of that snickering 14 year boys grade level team could give them cover.

And those he doesn’t have in his pocket, like anyone who opposes his policies, he still treats them like shit!

The MSM sold it’s soul to Obama in 2008.
They lost what pretense of objectivity
    remained.

In a way, it’s already happened, by their selling their very souls. The way I understand it, state corporatism works by allowing private ownership, yet all decisions come from the government.

The guy is an insensitive idiot, but he’s partly right, for the wrong reasons. It’s pretty unusual for a woman to get pregnant from a single sexual encounter, whether forced or consensual. It’s simply a matter of chance. But should a woman become pregnant as a result of rape, that does not in any way negate the fact of the rape.

And the term “legitimate rape” is a lousy way of expressing a thought. I think “alleged rape” vs “proven rape” might be more rigorous. Rape is never “legitimate”.

Here’s the rest of the story. About a year after the surgery, that same area started feeling sorta strange. Not the terrible pain, just kinda crowded. I had an MRI done and the tech said I had a mass of x number of centimeters. I asked if that was golf ball or tennis ball. He said “grapefruit”. To make a long story short, they went back in and found that the surgeon had left a hand towel in my gut. I did get a nice settlement.

The surgeon’s report said “removed foreign object”. It wasn’t a foreign object. That towel was made in Massa2shits. The surgeon explained to me that he used it as a “retractor” so my guts wouldn’t all fall out while he was doing his scalpel work. Problem was, the towel didn’t make it on to the in/out inventory. I got checks from the doc and the hospital. I never even got an attorney involved.

 Exactly! Back in the 80′s, Clayton Williams, a big time Texas rancher and oilman, ran for governor on the GOP ticket. His dem opponent was Ann Richards. Claytie was leading her in the polls and the election was his to lose. He invited the press out to one of his ranches for an evening beside the campfire and chuck wagon. Then it started to rain and the press began to complain. Claytie said “well boys, it’s kinda like rape. If you can’t do anything to stop it, just lay back and enjoy it”. Hello Governor Ann Richards.

    @ NoThreat2U:

I completely agree with MacDonald, Steyn, Hanson, Goldberg, and Sowell.

I’d say that I agree with probably 80% of what Dr.K writes, but when he’s off he gets completely and obviously elitist about it. I don’t know if I could have him as “Captain,” but his eloquence and prominence make a formidable combo.

Peggy Noonan has never been my cup of tea.

I think that Nicole Gelinas at City Journal is underrated. She appeals to my FisCon sensibilities.

David Brooks is to the NYFT what Joe Scarborough is to MSLSD; a “token conservative” which in reality is no conservative.

I just noticed in the walk-in cooler they have in the grocery store that I frequent here that they have Cuba Libre already mixed and packed in 1 litre bottles… I don’t like them, but that walk-in cooler they have allows one to party hearty at the drop of the proverbial hat.

Good rum is best imbibed neat, except in the case of Bacardi 151, which should be poured over a little ice.

Eeeeeek, that’s scary! Glad you survived it! Foreign objects can cause all kinds of bad problems in one’s innards. I don’t want anything inside of me that the good Lord didn’t put there!

    My sympathies.

I’ve had it on and off since 1999. One of these days I’m going to bit the bullet and have surgery done.
I keep hoping microsurgical techniques will evolve to the where they don’t have to resection the intestine. Colostomy bags suck, even short term.

A couple weeks ago you mentioned the NRA convention in Houston next year and we spoke briefly about a regional Blogmock Convention. On that very day, my son told me that he and his fiance had decided on May 4th for their wedding, so that killed the NRA deal for me. However, this weekend my son told me that they had put off the wedding until October so I’m back on for the convention. Calo, Lily and Dolphin would make it, so we need to start planning. We could probably scare up a few more.

It seems like almost every starting player I remember from before going to Kuwait is on the DL. I turned on the game the other night and was seriously confused. I had to go online and check the roster.

There’s been quite a bit of construction here, too. They built a whole slew of new retail outlets just east of I-25 that I knew nothing about.

I had to go to the Comcast office to get my internet turned back on. I drove all the way downtown to where it’s always been, only to find a sign saying they’d moved to an address I’d never heard of. I asked someone about it, and they said, “Oh, yeah…that’s between Costco and Lowes.”

Didn’t help me much, since the only Costco I knew of was 5 miles away in the opposite direction.

    Update on the Akin idiocy:

“In reviewing my off-the-cuff remarks, it’s clear that I misspoke in this interview and it does not reflect the deep empathy I hold for the thousands of women who are raped and abused every year,” Akin said in a just-released statement. “Those who perpetrate these crimes are the lowest of the low in our society and their victims will have no stronger advocate in the Senate to help ensure they have the justice they deserve.”

The most recent poll released one week ago on the Missouri Senate race had Akin up on McCaskill by 11 points, with an even wider 14-point margin among women.

Maybe next time he’ll keep his mouth shut.

McCaskill’s going to run that soundbite wall-to-wall.

    Speaking of which…..

University of Maryland Students And Staff Petition School To Have Chick-Fil-A Kicked Off Campus…

The Chick-fil-A same-sex marriage debate doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. Ever since President Dan Cathy stated his stance on gay marriage last month, the fast-food chain has been under scrutiny.

Now, some University of Maryland students and staff are working to get the restaurant off their campus.

They’re using online petitioning via change.org to persuade Adele H. Stamp Student Union officials to remove the restaurant, reports campus newspaper The Diamondback.

As of Friday afternoon, the petition has more than 560 supporters. The organizers have set 1,000 signatures as a goal.

However, the school has a contract with Chick-fil-A that runs through the academic year, according to student union director Marsha Guenzler-Stevens.

Guenzler-Stevens said it’s hard to say whether the Chick-fil-A business on campus has been affected. But in a survey conducted last spring about popularity of food court options, Chick-fil-A was No. 1.

Quiznos is a franchise operation. A friend of mine syndicated several of them in the 1990′s including one right on, or across the street from the Baylor campus. He says they failed because the franchisee was not a good businessman. My guess would be that those stores closed because the franchisee got in over his head.

And the Rockies win on my DVR.

Now they just need to scrape together enough players to put on the plane to NY this evening…

    Did they have Chick-Fil-A vendors?

Mike Smith has an interesting take on this:
Pussy Riot and taking the piss out of Communists.

Mike Smith’s anti-Slav and anti-Russian and anti-Orthodox bigotry evidently knows no bounds. He learned everything he thinks he knows about Russia from the utterances of Soros-funded NGOs (who are excluded from Russia, thank God) and from the MSM.

That’s the last time I’ll ever visit that blog.

    Knee Jerk Much?

Mike Smith is a white South African who mainly comments on South African matters. If you actually look at his blog you will see that is the case…most of his articles are about things like the farm murders, corruption and Marxism in the ANC and the machinations of the mining companies. But seeing as how Soviet Russia attempted to destroy his country through both open warfare via the war in Angola and subversion and terrorism via the ANC, I am not surprised, nor should you be, that he is less than trusting of “ex” KGB agent Vladimir Putin. I hardly think this makes him “anti-Slav”.

Mike’s blog is one of the best out there on South African issues, and as the situation there continues to deteriorate I plan on linking to stories from his blog for those here who are interested. You, of course, are welcome to pass over them if you like.

    @ The Osprey:
Well, okay, I do support white South Africans, who have been wrongly and unfairly demonized.

OTOH, I am an ardent Slav Nationalist and I do love my own people, the Serbs, and the Russian Orthodox who support the right of the Serbs to exist.

    @ 1389AD:

South Africa during the Cold War allowed asylum to a fair number of Poles and Serbs fleeing Communist
regimes in their homelands, just like the Aussies. White South Africans are not anti-Slav, but they don’t trust Communists of whatever color!
