I have to wonder if the management of the Indianapolis Colts sat around Monday morning and looked at the numbers that came out of the Superdome and Denver on Sunday and wondered if their five-year plan left a lot to be desired. As a Cal grad, my “freudenschade” watching Andrew Luck have less-than-stellar NFL debut makes me a bit of a stinker, I know. But I have had to listen to the Stanford grads in my office telling me all summer howAndrew would revitalize the Colts. Then I had to hear it wasn’t fair because he had to play against Chicago at home. To which I respond: have you ever BEEN to the Superdome? Okay. Cool.
Because RG III has certainly revitalized the Redskins. And how about those Broncos?
I apologize, by the way for the dumbass mixup in scheduling the column last week – in the past I would send the column via email to my fellow tar-heel “M” who put it up. Rodan advised me that I could do this directly and the result of my first attempt was a bigger disaster than the Saints defense last week. Actually, it’s probably a good thing – never have I been so wrong about so much. Except of course, for voting for Clinton in 1992.
So here are today’s and Monday night’s matchups. Enjoy some brews and don’t forget to forward your favorite game recipes and cocktails for our Super Bowl cookbook we’ll be publishing online next year.
