We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.
Play nice!

Michelle is bowlegged because she doesn’t like wearing heels. (I don’t blame her for that.)
What’s more telling is that she’s showing that she doesn’t want to be here. Above the waist she looks very tense, like she wants to ball up her fists and knock Romney out.

Venezuelan polling stations began to close Sunday but some remained opened late as long lines of voters were still waiting to cast ballots in the presidential election, the electoral council said.
“We must recall at the end of this election day that voters are still voting,” National Electoral Council president Tibisay Lucena told a news conference. “Voting stations will stay open as long as voters are in line.”

So, no work trips back to Venezuela for me anytime soon, then. Well, it would take years to unscrew PDVSA anyway, if it even can be unscrewed, which is doubtful. Chavez fired all their best people years ago and replaced them with Chavistas. They are scattered all over the oil industry world-wide now. I still keep in touch with some of them that I worked with back in 97.

Mitt Romney: arm the Syrian rebelsRepublican presidential candidate is to call for an escalation of the conflict in Syria in a major foreign policy address
@ Guggi:
I’ve seen reports that Romney is supposed to take on Islam with this speech. I’d much rather see that than calls for the US to, get involved in Syria. Syria is a mess. There really is no up side for us there, any more than there was in Libya.
Guggi wrote:
I don’t know about Rodan, but I think arming the rebels would be a huge mistake.
Just because they may win in the end, support from us would most likely not translate into any benefit if the rebels do come to power. What benefit did we gain in egypt for example.
Besides there is the same problem in syria as in libya, egypt, and all the other so-called arab spring revolutions. As odious as the current governments are, the rebels are very likely to be worse. In all of them I have read reports there is a mix of al’qada, muslim brotherhood, and other similar islamist groups.
I know Romney wants to capitalize on obama’s many foreign policy failures, but supporting the rebels in syeia who will likely be worse enemies than asssad if they win is a approach that has me questioning Romney’s reasoning and objectivity when dealing with the muslim world.
Guggi wrote:
Does anyone know if this is the position Bolton takes on this issue? I can see Romney blowing any advantage he gained last week if he takes this position!
