Rising Star’s Military Career Derailed to Appease Islamists

This is one of the most blatant acts of appeasement I’ve seen yet by our military, ranking right up there with former Chief of Staff Casey’s post-Ft Hood massacre comments about what a tragedy it would be if “diversity” suffered as a result of the crime.

Fortunately, the Thomas More Law Center is on the case:

During a Pentagon press conference on May 10, 2012, General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, publicly excoriated Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Matthew Dooley, a 1994 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a highly decorated combat veteran.  His reason: The course on Islamic Radicalism which LTC Dooley was teaching at the Joint Forces Staff College (JFSC) of the National Defense University was offensive to Muslims.

General Dempsey characterized LTC Dooley’s course as “totally objectionable,” and ordered all material offensive to Islam scrubbed from military professional education within the JFSC and elsewhere. But that’s not all.  LTC Dooley was fired from his instructor position and given an ordered negative Officer Evaluation Report (OER) — the death-knell for a military career.

The actions against LTC Dooley follow a letter to the Department of Defense dated October 19, 2011 signed by 57 Muslim organizations demanding that all training materials offensive to Islam and Muslims be purged and the trainers disciplined.

A review of LTC Dooley’s OERs going back several years, including his OER as an instructor with JFSC, paint a picture of an outstanding officer with unlimited potential:

  • “LTC Matt Dooley’s performance is outstanding and he is clearly the best of our new instructors assigned to the JFSC faculty over the last six months. . . . A must select for battalion command. . . .  LTC Dooley possesses unlimited potential to serve in positions of much higher authority.”
  • “MAJ Dooley is unquestionably among the most dedicated and hard working officers I have ever known.…  Unsurpassed potential for future promotion and service.”
  • “Our soldiers deserve his leadership.”
  • “This officer possesses unlimited potential for future assignments.  He must be promoted ahead of his peers and selected for Battalion/Squadron Command at first opportunity.”
  • “Superb performance.”
  • “Matt is a consummate professional with unlimited potential;”

The Thomas More Law Center, a national nonprofit public interest law firm, based in Ann, Arbor, Michigan, represents LTC Dooley. The Law Center decided to disclose excerpts from five of LTC Dooley’s previous Officer Evaluation Reports (OER) in order to give the public an idea of the loss to the Army and our Nation caused by the actions taken against LTC Dooley.

What happened to LTC Dooley is more than a personal miscarriage of justice.  When instructors are prohibited from teaching military officers about the true threat posed by Islamic Radicalism, it is a threat to our national security.

My tongue hurts from having to bite it all the time, because of what the Обама Режим has done to our Fighting Men and Women of the Armed Forces!
Please Gov. Romney! If We The People elect you as our President…UNLEASH THEM against the Mohammedans!

Dempsey is rapidly turning out to be just as much of an ass as Casey was.

I’m really surprised at that. Up until he became Army Chief of Staff, he was generally well-regarded. I guess the new job came with some sort of brain implant.

Drinking the Company kool-aid? Since I’ve never been important enough to ‘sell-out’ to anybody, I imagine there must be duties that come along with the perks.

    @ coldwarrior:

The Burki slides on Jihad look an awful lot like the ones I put together for a class about 4 years ago.

Damn…I guess that makes me an evil Islamophobe, too.

coldwarrior: that powerpoint is excellent. (A few typoes, admittedly.)

I can already tell you the reason the military didn’t like it. Dempsey didn’t just go after Islam; that much is controversial, but it’s not the reason. Dempsey went after political correctness. That is to say he went after liberalism, which is nothing more or less than the governing ideology of the United States.

Dempsey is a heretic. And an ideological state like the USA these days can’t have heretics, especially not in its armed forces.

    @ Zimriel:

I think you mean Dooley, not Dempsey.

LTC Dooley was the instructor who was relieved. GEN Martin Dempsey is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and was previously Chief of Staff of the Army.

That depends on how you define “the military.” His course was reportedly very well-received by his students (who would have been Majors and Lieutenant Colonels who have all served multiple tours in Iraq and/or Afghanistan), and his superiors at the school considered him to be their best new instructor.

Someone passed the slides from the course to Wired magazine, which published them. Then CAIR and all the usual suspects pitched a fit, to which Dempsey responded by ordering a purge.

No kidding just reading the article you could see how *shocked* they were at the course that was being taught. But Wired is really not to my liking. Unbelievable some of the articles that they write.

Excatly he was at least teaching the truth. Can any of our soldiers who have served time in Iraq or Afganistan really not know the truth concerning Islam?

He is a stooge concerning Islam but has a real hate for Christians and Jews. I cannot stand Wired at all.

Like the Church the military isn’t isolated from the surrounding society. Many of the now in active duty generals have been socialised during the late 1960′s and early 1970′s and are heavely infected with leftism. PC has become their second nature at least in public. Another point is, that to become a general you have to be an opportunist.

Btw.: Dempsey is also one of those who are in strong opposition of a unilateral strike of Israel against the nuclear facilities in Iran. He belittles Iran’s nuclear capability.

And -- as a personal note -- he is so fugly he could kill the enemy only through his appearence. Is he married ?
