Obama is toast in November unless he pulls a rabbit out of the hat in foreign affairs. Even then I think he’s still toast because IT’S THE ECONOMY STUPID.

Well, if I lived in an urban center and had to transit “not optimal” neighborhoods, I might makes plans to alter my routine for a day or two or more, just in case. It might just get ugly in selected areas. Not in that situation myself, and like you (IIRC), I’m out of the country at the moment anyway. The Aussie progressive ‘spinmeisters’ are hard at their spinning mills calling it a rout for Obama. These guys need to get out more. We have progressives in total denial down-under . The other lot of progressives are setting up their post Obama place as ‘wise nostrums’ and will bore everyone with endless raking over the coals of a failed socialist dream … and try to get paid by someone for doing it.
The American left can’t even threaten to run away to Canada as the Canadian PM is even more conservative than any US Republican presidency will be. They can’t go to Mexico where the cartels will use them for target practice.

Well, I’ve read the reviews, and it sounds like Mitt did fine last night. He doesn’ really possess the killer instinct I’d like (especially in regards to our Mohammedan enemy), but he’ll do. He did what he had to do last night, which was look credibly Presidential. Obama, apparently, did not. That’ll bring in the undecideds, whomever they are. I find it hard to believe anyone is really undecided at this stage. DO you want four more years of stagnation and decline? If so, vote for Obama. DO you want the possibility of a brighter future? If so, vote for Mitt. It really is that simple. Obama has shown us what he’ll do with the economy, and the economy is the biggest issue we face. The second biggest is foreign policy, though, and Obama has been an unmitigated disaster at that as well. They only people doing well under Obama are the parasite classes, especially the government bureaucrats in DC. Thay’ve been making out like bandits under Obama, and will no doubt vote for him to a man. Big government loves big government. Who could have seen that coming? In any event, Mitt’s Gallup poll numbers have been holding steady over 50% for better than a week now. No one with that kind of lead has gone on to lose before this. I don’t expect this to be an exception to that rule.

It is still awfully hard to hit an aircraft carrier. The Russians and probably the Chinese can do it. I doubt that the Iraninas can. I know they have Silkworm missiles, but We have Aegis destroyers in aircraft carrier battle groups. And a carrier is still the best way (short of nukes) to project power around the world. We need our carrier battle groups. If Obama had been smart, he’d have added anothe rone to our arsenal as part of his trillion dollar “stimulus”. But that would have benefitted the United States, provided real jobs to the shipwrights who built her, and had a number of other consequences that Obama would have considered “not optimal”. Also, there is less room for graft when building a carrier battle group. He’d rather funnel the money into a few dozen Solyndras, where that money can be siphoned off by supporters and recycled into campaign donations.

I’ve known that. Bill O’Reilly isn’t really a conservative. He just sees a market and plays to it. His opinion on gun control alone costs him any real conservative cred he might have built up from other positions.
