Chris Matthews claims Republicans support Sharia style laws

by Rodan ( 311 Comments › )
Filed under Humor, Media, Progressives, Sharia (Islamic Law) at October 25th, 2012 - 8:00 pm

Chris Matthews is giving Charles Johnson a run for the money with his lunatic style rants. Yesterday Chris Matthews called Sarah Palin racist for using the term “chuck and jive.” If that wasn’t bad enough, Chris Matthews says the GOP supports Sharia like laws.

Since when have Progressives been against Sharia laws? Chris Matthews is deranged and should be in a mental asylum!

He was talking about abortion. More made-up “war on women” crap.

Apparently, cutting off federal subsidies for Planned Parenthood is now equal to the “Talibanization” of America, whatever that means.

I’ve only watched it a few times. When I was in Kuwait, I had AFN TV in my apartment. Their news channel rotates among the different cable news channels hourly, so a couple hours a day, they show MSNBC. Rachel Maddow’s show is one of the things they carry.

  31. 31 | October 25, 2012 8:43 pm

    @ buzzsawmonkey:

    This is deep.

The governor returns backstage and he is smiling and shaking hands, taking congratulations from everybody around him. He’s saying how great it was. Somebody yells out he’s going to win Colorado and the governor laughs and says he thinks so too. And then something very interesting happens. He moves away from the group of people just a bit. Maybe ten or fifteen feet or so. Just enough to have a little space to himself. And enough people notice that the area gets a lot more quiet, and they are trying to watch the governor without looking like they are watching the governor. They can all kind of tell something is happening right then. It was described as something very peaceful and powerful that came over that backstage area for a moment. And the governor, he lowers his head and his eyes shut tight and you could see him take a slow deep breath and then he lets it out and says quietly, but just loud enough for some to hear, “Lord, if this is your will, please help to make me worthy. Please give me the strength Lord.” And then his eyes open up, and he’s back to smiling and laughing and shaking hands and being the candidate once again.

I’m 100% convinced Mitt Romney was shaken to his soul right then and there. I think at that moment it was sinking in he might really be the next American president, and it humbled him right to his core, in every nerve of his body. And as he was saying that little prayer, you could hear the sound of thunder from all those thundersticks outside. Like this huge low rumble that just surrounded all of them at once. A quiet little prayer, and the sound of thunder.

You’ll recall what I’ve been saying about clinging to inherited memories of oppression. Consider this:

Ready access to abortion was the Big Victory of the feminist movement—its Voting Rights Act, if you will; “the right to control our bodies.” That this “right” has operated to debase women by objectifying them even more—by making them objects of ready sex rather than people to consider marrying and having a family with—is something that many women, particularly those who bought into this at the beginning, cannot look at.

If you are forty or fifty and unmarried because you were going to “have it all,” you end up looking around and realizing that the whole marriage and children thing is…gone. Gone forever. You passed it by. You may marry, yet—possibly—and you may even have the chance of raising a child if you manage to adopt one, but you will never experience that one thing which is unique to women. You were sold a lifestyle and looking back you realize it screwed you over.

Think of the number of women in that position. They cannot look at abortion as something which requires restriction because that means looking back at their entire history of adult life choices with regret.

No wonder they are ferocious in its defense.

It is crazy talk to be honest! All of a sudden abortion is an issue again. Why? Because obama wants the Catholic Church to pay for them and the Catholic Church and the hospitals they run say no it is against our tenets! Now all of a sudden it is a war on women and Planned Parenthood will be defunded…the horrors!!!!!!! Like this is the most pressing issue we have. For anyone who wants an abortion you will still be able to get it. Obama is running out of ideas and wars…this is 1960 crap redo…

    Lily wrote:

Oh lets not look at the economy and how it’s about to go over the cliff!

Obama said sequestration won’t happen but they walked that back almost before the debate ended. It’s actually part of his plan, let the Bush tax cuts expire resulting in massive tax increases and let sequestration happen resulting in massive defense cuts. It was outlined in the Des Moines Register interview that the White House wanted kept off the record.

In the short term, the good news is that there’s going to be a forcing mechanism to deal with what is the central ideological argument in Washington right now, and that is: How much government do we have and how do we pay for it?

So when you combine the Bush tax cuts expiring, the sequester in place, the commitment of both myself and my opponent — at least Governor Romney claims that he wants to reduce the deficit — but we’re going to be in a position where I believe in the first six months we are going to solve that big piece of business.

It will probably be messy. It won’t be pleasant.

It’s an issue because Romney might win, and he’s openly pro-life. Never mind the fact that, unlike Obama, he’s not likely to govern by issuing executive orders on an hourly basis, so it really doesn’t matter what his personal views on the subject are.

It’s just a desperate attempt to scare up votes.

What’s he supposed to do, talk about his record?

By the way, this is what Kipling meant in “The Female of the Species”:

She who faces Death by torture for each life beneath her breast
May not deal in doubt or pity — must not swerve for fact or jest.
These be purely male diversions — not in these her honour dwells.
She the Other Law we live by, is that Law and nothing else.

She can bring no more to living than the powers that make her great
As the Mother of the Infant and the Mistress of the Mate.
And when Babe and Man are lacking and she strides unclaimed to claim
Her right as femme (and baron), her equipment is the same.

    She is wedded to convictions — in default of grosser ties;
Her contentions are her children, Heaven help him who denies! --
He will meet no suave discussion, but the instant, white-hot, wild,
Wakened female of the species warring as for spouse and child.

Unprovoked and awful charges — even so the she-bear fights,
Speech that drips, corrodes, and poisons — even so the cobra bites,
Scientific vivisection of one nerve till it is raw
And the victim writhes in anguish — like the Jesuit with the squaw!

Emphasis added. Note that “baron” there is a pun on both the title and “barren,” i.e., childless. Kipling wrote in several places about the feminists of his day as “the barren women”: an excellent example of this is his short story, “One Side of the Question,” which I highly recommend.

Court refuses Planned Parenthood appeal of Texas funding cut

(Reuters) -- A federal appeals court declined on Thursday to reconsider a ruling that would allow Texas to withhold funding for women’s healthcare from Planned Parenthood’s clinics because the organization also performs abortions.

Texas Governor Rick Perry said after the order by the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans that the state would immediately stop paying program participants that are affiliates of abortion providers.

“Today’s ruling affirms yet again that in Texas the Women’s Health Program has no obligation to fund Planned Parenthood and other organizations that perform or promote abortion,” the Republican governor said in a statement. “In Texas we choose life, and we will immediately begin defunding all abortion affiliates to honor and uphold that choice.”

I saw that earlier. It’s amazing. Plus it’s also amazing that he filled Red Rocks to capacity and they had to turn about another thousand away. There’s a lot of moonbats in the Denver metro area. (Not as bad as Boulder though.)

Is it just me, or does it seem like the more obsessed they are with abortion, the less likely they are to ever have to worry about it personally?

    Good analysis.

I married fairly late (on account of an earlier, misguided, long term relationship with someone who I knew all along wasn’t marriage material, and who eventually died). My husband already had one child with his ex-wife. We did not use contraception, with the intent of having a child if we could. Didn’t happen. I’d had endometriosis for many years, and I probably could not have become pregnant unless I’d started very early (in my late teens/early 20s, when, thanks to the ruin of our traditions and culture, at that time in history everybody was being indoctrinated against marriage and family).

I strongly recommend that women who want children begin their search for a suitable husband when they turn 18 or soon after, and that married couples who want children try to conceive immediately after marriage. The longer you wait, the poorer your chances of reproductive success.

My crook as a governor, Bill Richardson, was on Fox. WTF? Why? Last I heard he was facing jail time for paying off his mistress with campaign funds. I think there is still the allegations of his selling judge-ships for campaign donations. I’m working for the county and they take a big chunk of my pay for PERA, the government pension plan which is 6 billion in the hole, mostly because of Richardson’s damn train, the Rial Runner. I can’t depend on my pension, I can’t depend on Social Security, all because of leftists like Richardson. Why the hell give this slime air time?

“When [Obama] came over to our little area” at Andrew Air Force Base, says Woods, “he kind of just mumbled, you know, ‘I’m sorry.’ His face was looking at me, but his eyes were looking over my shoulder like he could not look me in the eye. And it was not a sincere, ‘I’m really sorry, you know, that you’re son died,’ but it was totally insincere, more of whining type, ‘I’m sorry.’”

Woods says that shaking President Obama’s hands at his son’s memorial service was “like shaking hands with a dead fish.”

Yep, I even had to participate in a freaking political correctness board. We were supposed to figure out how to institute politically correct principles throughout the service. Of course I derailed the whole damn thing when I presented the FACT that there is no such thing as reverse racism.

Old Chris is suffering some form of mental breakdown. He obviously cannot reconcile the reality all around him with his mental model of reality that he has constructed. This mental dissonance has seriously effected his rationality. We should feel sorry for him as even the hard core distance themselves from Matthews as he continues to embarrass them.

The right of course cheer him on as he has turned into a real asset for the right by exposing the results of a leftist political stance on one’s mental health and lucidity.

Powell is still miles ahead of Mathews, what has Mathews ever contributed to the betterment of this country? I’m disappointed in Powell but it doesn’t diminish his sacrifice to this country. My own wife is an Obama supporter, should I hate her? There will always be those who chose ideology based on emotion rather than reason or logic, reason and logic are the more difficult paths. They require work and many don’t have the time and motivation to put in the effort. Powell probably has but racism has taken precedence over reason. Can I fault him for that? Not really, never having walked in his shoes. What was it like being a Black Lieutenant in the early sixties? I would rather not know.

Lets see, when I got out, sexual harassment and discrimination charges would destroy ones career instantly even after they were proven false, women could sleep their way to good reviews but if you brought it up, you were charged with harassment. Ex-gang members who were being removed from service were given the master keys to the barracks while their fellow servicemen and women were off in the gulf war, and they were never charged with the thefts that occurred nor were they required to return the stolen goods.

Black first sergeants were able to hand out jobs to people being removed from the service based on race. Blacks were given cushy office jobs, non-blacks were given manual labor busy work. Overweight clerks in the individual squadron offices were given all control over the weight management program and were able to remove people even when the clinical staff presented written evidence that no weight violations had occurred.

Black personnel were allowed to riot whenever there was a race riot in the US, and no charges were ever presented. And racial problems were only investigated when they occurred to “minorities” and never when the “minority” was the instigator.

She seemed very grounded and had not lost the common touch. Not too bad as far as Congress critters go … as a species! :)

No but he should have known better, he became the most important military person in the country and rose to political prominence, both under Republicans. These things would have never happened under Dem control.

African American officers were saluted and treated with respect.
The military was ahead of general society.

That was my experience in the Australian and NZ forces as well. The Brits treated the Gurkhers appallingly in 28 Bde in Hong Kong.. The young Brit ‘Ruperts’ were right pricks and needed a good hiding to sort them out. Older Brit officers were not too bad.

Indeed Rancher..should we hate because someone else has a different poltical opinion. No. It is when those who differ with us and attack us because we differ with who is in office. I have born the wrath of such attacks…attacking them back doesn’t change their mind nor does it end well. I can stand up for myself. But if someone quietly disagrees with me I have no problem..that is their freedom of choice. I have a heck of lot more respect for those who vote differently than me and quietly or nicely disagree with me than those who attack me like a rabid dog. Chris Matthews tends to be the type that attacks. Powell I haven’t seen him rage on other than to say he supports obama even if it is because of race. I don’t think he will influence anyones opinion with his support for obama. But it is sad for him to say the economy is doing great!

But, in my entire time there he didn’t once make it to his target with his payload. At the first sign of enemy fire, he would dump his payload and run. Hard to say about a guy like Clark. I’ve often wondered how he got to the pinnacle of his profession. I’ve checked his resume and one can’t question his bravery in combat. He’s a handsome guy, glib, and probably kissed the right asses to get to the top. Gene Simmons is a band wagon jumping idiot.

He endorsed him back in April.

And voted for Obama in 2008… Cause it was the “Historic” thing to do…

Well, he does say he regrets his vote and endorsement. Anyone with even a twinkling of conservative thought should not ever even dream of voting for a democrat as long as they live.

No democrat can be trusted to hold any position of authority in this country, down to and including, dog catcher. They will abuse this position and utilize it to cause the maximum amount of damage they can.

Yup, that’s about the size of it…

    @ lobo91:
One might need a gun to know who was who on the NRA Board.

And to think, I might go to an NRA Convention next year as a non gun toting RWNJ.

Who knows what that convention might inspire me to buy?

    @ Calo:

Lots of people on the board you’ve probably heard of.

Chuck Norris…Ollie North…R. Lee Ermey…Grover Norquist…Tom Selleck was, but I don’t think he is anymore.

    There are 78 members.

You have to be at least an associate member in order to get in. They sell associate memberships at the door for, as I recall, $10. You don’t actually get anything for it, though, aside from entry to the convention hall.

Annual memberships are normally $35. If you click on the link on the sidebar, you can get one for $25. That gets you the usual stuff (magazine subscription, hat, decals, and $2,500 worth of gun insurance).

Norquist is odd. So many conservative ideas, so many bad connections.

    That he is.

I met him once, at a seminar in DC about 12 years ago.

I met Terry McAuliffe the same afternoon. What a sleazebag.

I’d like to not believe all the connections with Norquist and take him at face value. But, Gaffney is making the accusations and from the stuff of his I’ve read, he is a meticulous researcher.

Personally, I wish the NRA would stop sending me “free” crap and just use the damned money for lawsuit support and such. I know, I know -- they’re trying to raise more money. I just wish they’d be a bit more dignified in doing so. And while they’re at it, they could stop lending their name to the folks that make those fugly “Commemorative” guns that are always advertised in American Rifleman. Crappy designs with crappy “workmanship” (if you can call it that.) The gun owner’s answer to “Collector” plates…

A Red Carpet for Radicals at the White House

A year-long investigation by the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT) has found that scores of known radical Islamists made hundreds of visits to the Obama White House, meeting with top administration officials.

Court documents and other records have identified many of these visitors as belonging to groups serving as fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and other Islamic militant organizations.

The IPT made the discovery combing through millions of White House visitor log entries. IPT compared the visitors’ names with lists of known radical Islamists. Among the visitors were officials representing groups which have:

    Been designated by the Department of Justice as unindicted co-conspirators in terrorist trials;

    Extolled Islamic terrorist groups including Hamas and Hizballah;
    Obstructed terrorist investigations by instructing their followers not to cooperate with law enforcement;

    Promoted the incendiary conspiratorial allegation that the United States is engaged in a “war against Islam”— a leading tool in recruiting Muslims to carry out acts of terror;

Repeatedly claimed that many of the Islamic terrorists convicted since 9-11 were framed by the U.S government as part of an anti-Muslim profiling campaign.

    (…)

Every older generation bemoans the younger -- that’s life. But here I think there just might be a hint of validity. “vapid” just doesn’t even begin to cover this.

Well, when the president refers to Romney as a “bullshitter” it’s pretty clear that he’s no longer even feigning presidential dignity.

I am now willing to consider raising the voting age to at least 30, re-instating the requirement to own property, and requiring at least a passing grade on a the basic citizenship test we administer to legal immigrants.

With an exception, of course, for military service, I’d be willing to join you. Obama’s being kept afloat by the lowest common denominators of our society and our future actually hinges on many of them not getting off of their sorry asses to vote on Nov 6.

  307. 309 | October 26, 2012 7:07 am

No, I agree. The Khalidi tapes have to be awful. They are keeping them tighter than any state secret in the Obama Administration.

    MIlitary service exemption -- agreed.

We’re way past “it is to weep” and getting perilously close to “lock and load.”

Seriously. From “the Federalist Papers” to that in less than 3 centuries.
