**From the last thread***
Obama is hanging out at McCormick Place, from what I understand this location is isolated from the rest of the city. It has a body of water on one side and two highways that basically cut it off from the rest of the city. This is where they had a G8 summit…away from everything.
This isn’t the kind of place you would hold a victory rally.. People would have to drive, take a taxi or walk across a freeway to get there as there is no mass transit in and out of this area.

DC was never supposed to be the way it is in the first place. It was intended to be the seat of the federal government, which was really ony there a few months out of the year. That’s why it wasn’t given any representation in Congress (and thus no electoral votes until the 23rd Amendment). The founders intended it to be sort of like the way we see military installations today, not anyone’s actual home.

The fact that this is a close race tells us all we need to know.
We expect to apply for foreign citizenship in any free country that will have us, assuming that we live so long. Possibly Chile, possibly the Russian Federation. Who knows…
Unfortunately, our plans will have to wait a bit, given that my husband is seriously ill. The latest from the doctor is that his sudden high BP is caused by Cushing’s Syndrome. He’s going through some tests to find out if this is the case. If so, he has to have surgery to remove a tumor on his pituitary.
Nothing is making sense right now. The numbers are all over the place on all the sites. No one is agreeing with anyone. Places are being called for one candidate when another is in the lead. Percentages aren’t matching even close with the numbers. Places are being called when they are under 20% reporting. As far as I can tell most states are too close to call right now.
