Hipsters on food stamps — They’re young, they’re broke, and they pay for organic salmon with government subsidies. Got a problem with that?

Obama ended the work requirement for welfare — now they don’t even need to show up. After 99 weeks of unemployment, they go on permanent disability so the checks keep coming. The hard-earned work of others stolen for these bratty moochers and looters. This is what liberals tell their kids. Not work hard, stay late, get ahead. No, tell them to get on the welfare and food stamp line.

Each month, cash is loaded onto electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards. In Indiana WISH-TV got a digital dump of thousands of transactions showing where the money was spent. Vast sums were traced to bars, clubs, liquor stores, Las Vegas casinos, horse racing tracks, where the it’s supposed to be illegal to use — but it’s just a debt card that can’t be controlled. “But Indiana does not monitor where cash is actually used.” Also, they can use it in ATMs and get cash-back to buy their cigarettes. Most states are moving to EBT dispensing of welfare.

    Four more years!

    @ Fritz Katz:

Wow. I had no idea. So much for the “stigma” of mooching off other people. Now it’s an art form.

Fascinating factoid; J.P. Morgan owns the food stamp monopoly. It is in their INTEREST for people to fall into poverty.

Yeah, and as people start running out of money on their food stamps early because they’re blowing it on organic this and ‘fair trade’ that, then they’ll demand increases in what they get from those of us who actually produce something every month to pay for it.

    @ mfhorn:
Here in Ontario there used to be a “Special Diet” supplement for welfare recipients. We don’t have EBT cards or food stamps here. Anyway, this was being used and abused by all sorts of people on welfare. Encouraged by such idiots as the Coalition Against Poverty (one of those anarchist/communist front groups). Well, this system was so abused and draining the welfare coffers so badly the government of Ontario changed the rules and cut the supplement.

Mind you it was needed for those people that couldn’t subsist properly on normal cheap food. Now they are being punished even more because of some entitlist dimwits that wanted “their fair share”.

Really? 2007? Really? Been living within our means from 2008 on huh

All this cia/generals scandal is what happens when politicians run these long non-military aimless “nation building” operations

  23. 24 | November 14, 2012 7:59 am

    @ waldensianspirit:

The last four years of tri=llion dollar plus deficits aren’t living beyond our means. They are something beyond living beyond our means. They are spending ourselves into bankruptcy, and that isn’t going to stop for another four years. I doubt seriously that the Senate passes a budget until it is in Republican hands (if that ever happens).

in PA you can only use these food stamp cards to buy food.

they dont work in liquor stores or places like that. you can only buy fresh food as well, nothing prepared. two bills are presented at the time of checkout. one covered under stamps, the other not covered

now, the unemployment bank cards i dont know about
