If Turkey and Israel went to war it would put Barack Hussein Obama in an interesting position. His heart would side with Turkey, but politically it would be dynamite to side against Israel. But as I noted yesterday, Israel’s support in the United States is largely among white Evangelical Christians, and the Democrat Party has made it plain that they don’t want any of their votes. It’ll be interesting to see how Obama handles that, if it occurs. I think Turkey is just making noise, frankly, as is Egypt. Nobody really cares about the Palestinians, not even the Palestinians. I don’t really see what the United States gets from NATO. We supply most of theirmilitary, and what we don’t provide could be attained with bilatteral alliances rather than as a league of nations.
