Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire brokered by the US and Egypt. Make no mistake about it, this sill be perceived a victory not f the Muslim Brotherhood bloc in the Mideast. They were able to pressure the US to make Israel back off its attacks on Hamas.
Egypt announced on Wednesday that a cease-fire had been reached to end eight days of fighting between Israel and the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, starting at 9 p.m.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr made the announcement in a joint news conference with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“These efforts … have resulted in understandings to cease fire and restore calm and halt the bloodshed that the last period has seen,” Amr said.
Israel has agreed to the truce, but will not lift its blockade of Gaza as part of the deal, according to an Israeli official.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman were set to address the media at 8.30 pm. Wednesday night.
Netanyahu told US President Barack Obama on Wednesday he was ready to give a cease-fire with Hamas a chance, his office said in a statement.
Militarily, Israel did pound and degraded Hamas. But the problem is that it was not a conclusive and decivive ending. Hamas lives to fight another day and The esteem of the Muslim Brotherhood has been raised. This means that the Muslim Brotherhood now has prestige and bragging rights against Iran.
The Obama Regime once against has stood with the Muslims. His regime pushed this ceasefire and did it in a way that makes the Muslim Brotherhood Block look good. Israel should begin preparing for the next round that will come after Assad falls. The IDF preformed well, but the perception among the Islamic world is that they backed off. This will give them more headaches down the road.

Clinton is not a honest broker. Egypt is the enemy. This is a deleted deleted deleted.
Very foolish move. It will only make things worse.
Sounds like Hamas needed a break to resupply their rockets.
CNN is all excited that the truce has lasted 2 hours, and that there’s a NEW GOVERNMENT in Egypt to negotiate with.
Israel knows the score.

Pretty much. I’m sure there are weapons of all kinds in Syria and Lebanon as well.
An official statement from the Canadian Govt came out today accusing our media of biased reporting on the Israel/Gaza mess. That’s Harper’s doing. Be nice if we were an actual power, but Harper is punching above his weight, so to speak.

Obama Legitimizes Morsi’s Protection Racket
http://frontpagemag.com/2012/david-goldman/obama-legitimizes-morsis-protection-racket/
From the great Melanie Phillips:
•A little less Spring in the Arab step?
Cast your minds back to the fall of Egypt’s President Mubarak. The demonstrations that helped force him out were, we were told, the joyful expression of the ‘Arab Spring’; that would usher in freedom, democracy and human rights for the Egyptian people labouring under the yoke of the dictator Mubarak. On that basis America’s Obama, the UK’s Cameron and France’s Sarkozy helped lever Mubarak out of power. The US then helped lever in Mohamed Morsi as Egyptian President.
Never mind that he was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamist organisation whose aim is to snuff out all freedom for Muslims and subject them to the slavery of Islamic sharia law, and also to conquer and Islamise the west. No, Morsi was to represent the brave new dawn of liberty for Egypt.
Oh dear. For two days ago, Morsi suddenly gave himself the powers of a dictator. As the Guardian reported:
‘Egypt’s president, Mohamed Morsi, has granted himself far-reaching powers and immunity from legal oversight as he ordered the retrial of his predecessor Hosni Mubarak over the killing of protesters during the country’s revolution.
‘In a surprise move, Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood leader who was instrumental in securing a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas on Wednesday, issued a series of measures preventing Egypt’s courts from challenging any laws or decrees passed since he assumed office in June.
‘The decrees prevent the courts from attempting to dissolve the upper house of parliament or the constituent assembly which is drawing up the country’s new constitution, both dominated by his Islamist allies.’
So now Egypt has replaced a secular autocrat by a fanatical Islamic dictator -- and the Egyptian crowds are back in revolt.
This Islamist coup took place a mere 24 hours after the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was praising Morsi to the skies as the deal-maker between the Hamas and Israel, and the guarantor that weapons smuggling to the Hamas through Egypt would now cease.
Meet the new boss, Same as the old boss.

Nothing to worry about, Gen Clapper has assured us that the
“Muslim” Brotherhood is secular & has nothing to do with
Islam.
You didn’t think that Muslim equates with Islam, did you?/

he had not heard of it.
