I have often written about how the Progressives have turned Obama into this all powerful god-king. Evan Thomas and Chris Matthews declared him a god back in 2009. There is is even an Obama as Christ exhibit at Bunker Hill Community College. At this years Soul Train Awards Jamie Foxx declares Obama his Lord and Savior.
The Progressives have deified Obama. He has been turned into some above it wise philosopher/god-king. Jamie Foxx was just expressing how many Americans view Obama.

Obama is not a Christian, but he is also not a Muslim. He recognizes no gods before himself. He would have the American people do likewise.
The really fun part will be when Obama and Jaime meet the REAL Lord and Savior and then try to explain themselves. Good times for all….
And this dovetails rather nicely:
POLL: MORE AMERICANS BLAME REPUBLICANS FOR FISCAL IMPASSE
Obama and the Democrats are treating the American public as exactly what they’ve become; one dimensionally thinking children with limited attention spans -- the electorate has appropriately rewarded them. We have staggering economic woes, foreign policy blunders galore and yet, we discussed crap like “the war on women” and Romney’s income through much of the campaign…now, we’re (reluctantly) beginning to discuss these issues and the bleating, quivering, over-gorged and under-informed masses, better known as the American people nod in agreement like the mindless bobble heads they have become.
Republicans tend to infer some sort of responsibility among the populace and try to impart some sort of useful information regarding our impending demise and the bobble heads are unimpressed, unmoved and, for all appearances, utterly confused.
We’ve assumed minimal maturity and a modicum of common sense in our message and, for all the intellectual impact we had, we might as well have been giving a dissertation on quantum mechanics…..at least then, they could have, maybe, related to Star Trek.
@ MacDuff:
I’ve become convinced that the only course forward is to basically give the American ppeople what they voted for: Obama without any restrictions whatsoever. He wants to destroy the United Statews, and the majority of the people want him to accomplish that mission so long as they get free shit up until the crash. The only thing to do is prepare for the inevitable, and make Obama and the Democrats take full responsibility for the crash when it comes.
Iron Fist wrote:
What make you think they can be made to accept “full responsibility? To this day, FDR is credited with scooping us up out of the Depression, even though he likely prolonged it, and he wasn’t even a Black Jesus!

@ MacDuff:

@ Storagemanager:
Can’t fix stupid. Well… actually you can but it is rather permanent.
@ MacDuff:
That is the problem. I don’t kno whow to accomplish that, but it must be done. Look, if we go off the fiscal cliff, the people, in their infinite wisdom, are going to blame the Republicnas for the resulting recession. I think that is Obama’s political strategy. We can’t defeat that head on. Not with the media behind Obama like they are. We need to think Jiu Jitsu. Use their strength against them. First and foremost we need to take the gloves off, and call Obama out on what he is trying to do. You’ve seen the way I hammer the Outsider on what are we going to do when the National Debt hits 150% GDP? Why isn’t the GOP hammering Obama and the Democrats with that same question? Look, it doesn’t matter how much they raise taxes if they just raise spending that much more, and that is all the Democrats are going to do with these Obama Tax Hikes. We hav to fight back, and we simply aren’t doing that. We lost a close election, and look to be compounding that with mistakes in its aftermath. Fight the battles you can win. Obama is going to raise taxes. That is a given. Call them the Obama Tax Hikes, and hammer the fact that they are going to hurt small business. That would be a start. But if the Republicans let Obama slide (and it looks like they are going to) then nothing that we cdo can pin the blame for the catastrophe on him. I don’ thave any real hope for the United States as a whole. The best I can hope for is an amicable separation of the States into regional governments, and that some vestiage of the Old Republic will continue in the part of the country I live in.
What is the alternative? That is the big question.
@ MikeA:
Sometimes the permanent solution is the best solution. I cheer everytime I read the latest Darwin Award publications.
@ theoutsider:
That’s easy: reform entitlements. Make Social Security a means-tested system, and the same with Medicare. Why should I pay taxes to cover Warren Buffet’s healthicare just because he is old? Cut bureaucracy. We are way over-regulated, and that is a massive drag on the economy.
@ PaladinPhil:

And here’s how the left plays politics. A conservative mayor is elected. Starts fighting unions, cutting budgets, taxes, and so forth. The left has a hissy fit and all they can come up with is that he used office stationary to solicit donations for a local youth football team he supports through coaching and other means. Total amount recieved? $3,150 dollars. He was taken to court over this and yesterday the court said that he is to be removed from office and repay the $3,150 of donations. The good news is that Mayor Rob Ford is fighting and appealing this judgement. Meanwhile in London Ontario, the current mayor is fighting removal after he is being charged with criminal misuse of city funds used in a personal family wedding.
Difference between the two mayors? One is conservative and the other is Liberal.
