No it is about power and a total power over the people. There is a lot of desire to bad mouth the Tsar, particularly by the Communists, who claim he was a tyrant, and yet under him we were armed and under the progressives disarmed. Do not be fooled by a belief that progressives, leftists hate guns. Oh, no, they do not. What they hate is guns in the hands of those who are not marching in lock step of their ideology. They hate guns in the hands of those who think for themselves and do not obey without question. They hate guns in those whom they have slated for a barrel to the back of the ear.
“Back of the ear” means executed. They are 100% right on this. The gun controllers aren’t concerned with crime, not even defending students at schools. If they were interested in such things they would support arming teachers or, at least, having armed police stationed in the schools. Instead they push for more “gun-free” zones whre killers can be reasonable sure that they have unarmed victims.
The Russians (at least some of them) get how precious and vital the right to be armed is. They lost their right to be armed under the Communists, and brutal oppression followed. We would do well to learn from their history.

If you have been reading what I Coldwarrior and I have been posting, Russia is not what some Conservatives think it is. I’s a Rightwing Nationalist Capitalist Pro-Christian State. Putin is their version of Pinochet or Uribe. I am not saying Russia is a Free country, but they are NOT communists. It’s Authoritarian Capitalist.

Yes, the Communists disarmed them, and they have never gotten the right to keep and bear arms back. Once it is lost, it is lost. That is one reason it is so imperative that we stave off this round of gun control. The last “Assault Weapons” ban had a sunset provision. That is the only way we got rid of it. You can’t trust the Republicans to repeal bad laws. They just aren’t up to it. The only thing to do it keep bad laws from getting on the books. I am hoping that the Republicans in the House are up to that challenge.

Russians (like the peoples of most countries) have priviledges, and that’s it. Those are subject to being given or taken by the government at any time for any reason.
