We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.
Play nice!

I watched 2 minutes. The most obvious answer would be the Chair. But I think it’s Hitler.
Maybe the collective ghost of “most Americans” ?
Poll: Most Americans support new gun control measures after Newtown massacre
I’m not very afraid. Just a little afraid.
@ Guggi:
After looking at the actual questions and answers, I really wonder who they talked to.
If anything, those result show that the media has done a good job of distorting people’s views of reality.
@ Guggi:
When emotions are super raw and super high, that’s the best time to enact sweeping legislation designed to strip away our freedoms. Nothing wrong could possibly go wrong with this scenario.

Schultz is no stranger to highly inappropriate statements but, let’s face it, he’s just giving voice to what all of them are actually doing.
At least someone in Congress is paying attention:

Polls aren’t as reflective of what people think as much as they are instructions on what to think.
@ MacDuff:
I think it depends on how the questions are phrased. For instance if I were doing a poll on gun control questions like this would be asked.
Do you know what the 2nd Amendment is?
If so, do you think it should be repealed.
Do you think it was important to the Founding Fathers as the 2nd issue addressed and amended in the Constitution; after the freedoms of religion, speech and press?
Would you be OK with only the military, policing agencies and criminals having guns?
Stuff like that.
Deference to Obama
—apologies to the Rolling Stones, and “Sympathy for the Devil”
Let me please introduce myself
I’m a man of hope and change
I’ve been in office for almost four years
It’s racist if you say my name’s strange
I did a bailout for GM when it was going down the drain
Made sure my cronies were first in line
Bankruptcy laws were rearranged
Pleased to meet you—hope you guessed my name
But what’s puzzling you is the nature of my game
I slept right through the Benghazi night
When the mob for the consulate came
Yes they killed four Americans
Christopher Stevens screamed in vain
I claimed to know ’twas a video
Sparked world riots when the rocks were thrown
Pleased to meet you—hope you guessed my name
But what’s puzzling you is the nature of my game
I watched in glee while the jihadis
Built nuclear bombs with no action by me
I shouted about Romney’s tax returns
While I concealed my past history
Let me please introduce myself
I’m a man of hope and change
And I’ve made sure nobody can buy a home
‘Cause mortgages stay out of range
Pleased to meet you—hope you guessed my name
But what’s confusing you is the nature of my game
Though I condemn the West as colonial
And will impose on it Third World squalor
I rejoice in living a life that’s baronial
As I laze behind the White House doors
So, if you meet me, show me deference
Bow to me as I bow to the Sauds
While I further same-sex matrimonials
And subject you to foreign gods
Pleased to meet you—hope you guessed my name
Can I interest you in a sweatshirt
Which displays the logo of my fame?
Mmmmm, meanness
Gets ’round
Woo, woo
Woo, woo
Oh, yeah—get on down
Oh, yeah—oh, yeah
Tell me subjects—what’s my name?
Say, dependents—what’s my name?
You on foodstamps—what’s my name?
Hey, you voters—you’re to blame.
Ooo, oooh
Ooo, oooh
Ooo, oooh

Did you watch the whole vid? I had the same guess two minutes in.
A friend’s wife the other night said: I wish we could take all the guns in the whole world and get rid of them, except for soldiers and police. Or even just get rid of ALL of them completely!
I told her that a few centuries ago there were no guns, but there was still murders and crime. There were still tyrannical regimes and people were slaves with no rights in miost of the world. Most people then had NO say in government and lived their lives with no hope for improving their situations and the only way that freedom was ever accomplished was by the people having the power to force governments to change . . . at the point of a gun or a spear or a sword.
I don’t think it mattered with her. for some reason she hates and is afraid of guns, even though her father was a gun guy, and her brothers too. Her husband is a gun guy, yet she still has this unrealistic fear of guns. She even said: Other parents wouldn’t let their kids play with mine if they knew we had guns in the house and I wouldn’t let my kids play at a house that has guns.
Her husband doesn’t know what to do to convince her otherwise. but he isn’t planning opn changing. He like his guns and the security they provide and he takes his daughters out shooting and they love it.

Cain killed Abel. So, if you are a Judeo Christian, you believe that 5000 years ago, long before the first gun was created, 25% of the world’s population fell victim to a violent crime, and even God’s attempts to legislate violent crime out of existence failed due to man’s failures. If you are not a Judeo Christian, then you can at least appreciate that 5000 years ago, violent crime was a large enough societal problem, even before guns, to illustrate the problem in that book called the Bible which very wise and deceitful societal leaders attempted to trick us into leading a better quality of life.

I figured you’d go for #14.
So here is the logic: Liberals think that the American populace is generally crazy and cannot be trusted with guns and that only the police and the military can have them, but the police and the military are made up of people from the American populace.
We can’t arm the teachers or have armed guards in the schools because they might go nuts and shoot up the kids, so we make sure the kids are totally vulnerable so that anyone in the area that might go nuts can go in there and kill them at will.
It’s OK for the celebrities and policians to arm themselves or have body guards, but it is not OK for anyone else in the country to be armed or to have guards.
It is OK to have armed security at banks, but not schools.

374 years ago today in American History: ADOPTION OF THE FIRST WRITTEN CONSTITUTION KNOWN TO HISTORY. The first written constitution framed by a people for the government of themselves, in the history of the world, was adopted in Hartford, CT on January 14, 1639. This first formal Republic was made up of the people of the three earliest towns in the Connecticut River Valley, Hartford, Windsor and Wethersfield.
@ Urban Infidel:
And the next day, an ancestor of Obama’s tried to figure out a way to get around it.

Obama had ancestors in 1639 Connecticut? I guess you could spot them by seeing the bones in their noses and the lack of formal attire.
So, hypothetically speaking you are an OWS activist in Washington state or Colorado enjoying a bowl of mother natures finest in your Obama Choom Gang bong or vaporizor and the feds kick down the door and you are facing about 5 AR-15s with laser pointers dotting your forehead.
Are you getting an understanding of this 2nd amendment thing yet?
