Humpf. ARs are legal in CA (today) so long at they don’t have certain cosmetic features, aren’t on the list, and have limited capacity magazines. Higher capacity magazines were grandfathered. And you can yank that wooden stock off your Mini-14 and make it look TactiCool with the same restrictions on the aforementioned cosmetic features. Older AR-style rifles were grandfathered as well, even with Eee-vil features. But the CA legislature is working on that even as we speak.
And personal news on The Great Ammo Famine of 2013… I checked LuckyGunner this AM, and they had 5250 round cases of Federal 36 gr CPHP at 7.1 cents/round. They weren’t there yesterday AM, and while it was still up on their real-time inventory site, they weren’t there this morning, either. I had my credit card in hand, but gone. I’m going to have to go to checking 2 or more times a day, rather than just once.
