That’s one of those things where the fact that the celebutards have started to drive people away from their industry. Not good for business. Jordan was right, Republicans buy shoes too. I’ve not gone to a fair number of movies lately either because I know that the movie itself will have a backdrop of liberal morality play or because those starring in the movie are far left celebutards who have insulted and denigrated people like myself because of our political viewpoints and then heaped thanks and praise on their messiah obama.

Cruise is one of those loony left wing celebutards. Not only is he a left wingnut, he has that whole creepy scientology gig going as well. Tremendously talented actor and if I didn’t know those things, I’d enjoy watching movies in which he stars. However, since he has made his nuttiness public, I just can’t get past that to be enticed to know that some of my money, no matter how small an amount, would go to support that.

Obama Wants To Do It Again, With Pre-School For All, Despite The Failure Of Similar Program, Head Start

During his State of the Union address, President Obama demanded a massive expansion of federal spending on pre-kindergarten education, just a few weeks after having attempted to bury a report from the Department of Health and Human Services finding that the largest program in the field, Head Start, produces negligible results, and sometimes produces negative results. The study, released on the Friday before Christmas so as to minimize public attention to it, was hardly the first of its kind. The best scientific research we have — going back decades now — finds that Head Start does not provide the promised benefits, and indeed provides few if any benefits at all despite its extravagant annual cost of $23,000 per student, well more than double the cost of many highly regarded private schools and full-day kindergartens. Studies of early-childhood-education programs many orders of magnitude more intensive than Head Start come to similar conclusions.

Nobody is better than our government at spending money on things that don’t work.

Nanny Bloomberg Extending His Nanni-ness To Chicago, Meddling In Election To Replace Jesse Jackson, Jr.

A Chicagoland special House election to replace disgraced former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. has suddenly become Ground Zero of the national gun control debate, courtesy of anti-gun crusader Mike Bloomberg.

The billionaire New York City mayor’s super PAC is poised to dump at least $2 million into the race, sources told POLITICO — a staggering sum for a single House race that’s meant to thwart a National Rifle Association-aligned Democrat who was cruising along as the frontrunner until a barrage of Bloomberg-financed attack ads hit the airwaves.

The massive independent expenditure by Independence USA PAC dwarfs what any of the 17 Democratic candidates have raised themselves. It’s a none-too-subtle statement of Bloomberg’s intention to take on the NRA after the Newtown, Conn. school shooting — though it’s debatable how much of a test case it is since the NRA is staying out of the race.

I’m hoping they come up with a better anti-asteroid system than we have.

Maybe they can collaborate with India and China on that. Russia has the land area that makes them a target, while India and China have the population density that makes a strike particularly deadly. It’d be a win-win-win to get together on that.

Maybe he’ll have a heart attack. God willing.

    “Stay out the Bushes”

The only thing Jesse Jackson ever said that made sense.

Ontario’s new leftie Premier has declared herself the Minister of Agriculture. I didn’t even know she could do that. She’s urban/gay/social justice. KEEP your hands OFF our tomatoes!

That was not connected to anything in particular. Just reading ‘small dead animals’.

Our current “leadership” isn’t even smart enough to figure out that you can’t spend $4 for every $3 you take in. If we’re waiting for them to colonize other planets, we’re pretty much screwed.

The Chicoms or the Indians will colonize other planets leaving us behind.

At the rate we’re going the Iranians will beat us in space…

My reason not to support Porky is that the previous two Bush’s were such weak presidents and nothing but gutless punching bags for the Left.

    @ Speranza:

While I don’t share the vehement hatred of all things Bush of some on this board, this has to be the stupidest, most perplexing damned statement I’ve ever read! Geez, Lyndon friggin’ Johnson? His policies were bone-headed and his methods were crude and thuggish. Hell, even the Democrats have been quite content on letting Johnson fade into the mists of history!
