Don Cherry is to Canada what the late Howard Cosell was to the USA, eh.
I’ll have you know that cat at the top is demonstrating the Army’s newest prototype tank.
Macker wrote:
Howard Do-tell a true liberal in the best sense of the word, who got sold out by his liberal friends for the “little monkey” innocuous comment he made in 1983 about Alvin Garrett of the Redskins. Cosell meant it affectionately.
@ Speranza:
One of the earliest examples of pulling the race card. Now you can’t even cheer the Redskins.
@ lobo91:
That cat has a sense of humor. I’m not sure how the owner got it to cooperate, but I’m impressed.
Don Cherry is in no way a liberal, and I resent him being used to represent such. Does Molson still pay him to do his coach’s corner on Monday nights? It’s been years since I lived close enough to get Hockey Night in Canada.
@ Flyovercountry:
Well, this thread has gone over my head.
Who is Don Cherry, and please, tell me why I should care that he has mind melding Jedi jackets on display tonight?

I hear Obama is going to give him the Medal of Honor.
@ Calo:
Don Cherry only matters to Hockey fans. He coached the Boston Bruins during the 60′s and 70′s, and was probably the loudest and most outspoken coach in the 12 team NHL. He led the Bruins to the Cup, and retired afterwards. He’s been given 5 minutes on Molson Hockey Night in Canada, which he uses almost exclusively for America bashing, (not our culture, which he praises, but our Hockey players.) Those wild sports coats were things he wore, regularly.
@ Da_Beerfreak:
This is a Star Trek thread, isn’t it?
Pass me a light saber please to protect myself from you Vulcans

Thank you, FOC.

No insinuation intended that Don Cherry is a liberal, but his jackets are.

YES they do. He just got back from Afghanistan visiting the Canadian troops, and he’s no youngster. It’s not the first time he has done so either. He is a Canadian nationalist to the core and knows his hockey inside out. His late wife originally used to make his jacket iirc. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen him wear the same jacket twice. He loves to be in your face. EH

I’ll go with Pertwee/T. Baker, too. Mrs MF even knitted me a long scarf, even if it’s not 20′ long. No complaints about any of the latest 3 doctors, either. I haven’t seen much of Hartnell, Troughton, or most of the others to really know.

Now, I want a First Lady faux pas pic tonight, just because I’ve have enough Jedi Warrior pics for the day.

I don’t think the roosters have gone to bed yet, let alone risen to bellow at us night shifters.
Half day at work tomorrow. Off to bed.
With the budget sequester, I hope my alarm clock rings & the sun rises tomorrow. Also that my heart continues to beat, traffic lights work & my lungs function correctly.

I know what you mean about screwed up sleep times.
After many years on night shift, going to bed at 2 AM is early for me.
I just can’t adjust to waking up at 6AM, still. I will always be a night owl.
@ Calo:
Yup -- job hunting. Phone interview. Film at 11…
Now me, I got truly screwed up time-wise due to working in China, and never recovered. I normally get up at 2-3 AM.
Rachel Maddow Using Multiple Fake Twitter Accounts To Boost Mentions Of Show?
Free Republic has a pretty interesting screen cap of a large number of Tweets from multiple accounts. Hmm.
A poster on Twitter, upon seeing what he thought were very similar posts referencing MSNBC host Rachel Maddow’s show, did some searching and found out that Maddow has been using phony twitter accounts to boost her “mentions” on the popular website.
There is no such thing as sleep hygiene. None of that stuff has ever worked for me. I don’t need to relax more. I am relaxed, I just have trouble sleeping. ‘night, owls.

Only if Slammin Sam talks exclusively about Australia’s National Sport.
@ Flyovercountry:
Drinking?
@ Mike C.:
In high school, I was friends with a kid who was an exchange student from Australia. He managed to get himself deported from the U.S. basically because his favorite activities were drinking and then carrying out what ever moronic activity drunkenness flitted unfiltered through his alcohol addled brain. His stories about Australian rules football always had us in stitches. They all ended with the phrase, “so I kicked him in his wanker.”
@ Flyovercountry:
Good thing it’s not legal to deport Americans for such behavior. WV and other places would be empty.
@ Flyovercountry:

aussie rules is hard core. its a derivative of gelic football and rugby.
gaelic football is not be be confused with that other ‘soccer’ crap.
@ coldwarrior:
Those Aussie boys are nuts! Are you sure there are ‘rules’, though?
@ mfhorn:
What are these rules you speak of?
@ AZOlddog:
Thought so.
Aussie rules football is similar to the Obama administration & the Constitution.
