I don’t see any in the queue from the usual sources, so  all in favor for an OOT say ‘Aye!’

Those opposed?

Comments and respectful debate are both welcome and encouraged.

Comments are the sole opinion of the comment writer, just as each thread posted is the sole opinion or post idea of the administrator that posted it or of the readers that have written guest posts for the Blogmocracy.

Obscene, abusive, or annoying remarks may be deleted or moved to spam for admin review, but the fact that particular comments remain on the site in no way constitutes an endorsement of their content by any other commenter or the admins of this Blogmocracy.

We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.

Play nice!

the OOT 15 minutes late. it was hung up on one of Robert’s Rules of Parliamentary Procedure and apologized as a point of order.

‘ARRGH’ is not an acceptable answer unless followed by commands to walk the plank and/or to hand over the booty. therefore, the ‘arrrgh’ will be taken under advisement.

  100. 105 | April 19, 2013 7:23 am

    @ Iron Fist:
    More:

The suspects are brothers with the last name Tsarnaev, law enforcement officials told NBC News. The suspect at large, Dzhokar Tsarnaev, is 19 and has a Massachusetts driver’s license, they said. Law enforcement officials told NBC News that both men had international ties, had been in the United States about a year and had military experience.

I guess there i snothing stopping them from being Mohammedan converts, but they sound more like Bill Ayers wannabes than Jihadis to me. With Robert Redford coming out with a haigoraphy of the Weather Underground terrorists this summer, will no one ask the role Hollywood played in creating these monsters?

  101. 106 | April 19, 2013 7:24 am

PALIN PRAISES RAND PAUL FOR FIGHTING DC ESTABLISHMENT IN ‘TIME 100′ TRIBUTE

…Paul even made the magazine’s cover. Time decided to go with seven different covers, and Paul landed on one of them.
Palin, who herself has also made the list in years past, wrote in the magazine that in a Washington “too often defined by the venal equivocations of a permanent political class more interested in consolidating its own power than in upholding the Constitution or defending the common good,” Paul “is a voice of reason awakening the public to what must be done to restore our prosperity and preserve the blessings of liberty for future generations.”
“His brand of libertarian-leaning conservatism attracts young voters, and recently he inspired the nation with his Capraesque filibuster demanding basic answers about our use of drones,” Palin wrote.

No. Looks like nothing to do with Islam at all, at least at the moment. Just good old American anarcho-communist seems the most likely thing right now. But it’s early days yet, so let’s see.

What are Chuckie & other leftists going to do now that it looks like the suspects are other than white Christian tea-party types?

Pretend that they never said any such thing, of course.

Run down of the gun fight in Watertown last night. Both perps have been identified as Chechyan.

Pope catholic? :) Where are you these days.

I logged again and notice the story has changed. Bumr50 caught it.

You’ve got that right. Who cares about him? I don’t give him a second thought except when someone brings him up. The only reason I ever go over to DoD is to say hi to Rightymouse.

I’m at the house in VA after finishing up in Bolivia. Scrounging around for another gig, as usual.

You have spent a lot of time in South America these last few years it seems. We should have a beer and compare notes. Good luck with the search.

Anyone in Chicago or Milwaukee on 11-12th of May?

    @ mfhorn:

Well, not JUST Chuckie. We’ve also got Michael Moore-on, ‘Tingles’ and the other Obama brown nose patrol members.

Hm, they don’t look like brothers

  115. 120 | April 19, 2013 8:04 am

    @ mfhorn:

Yeah, you had that article in Salon practically praying that the bomber would be a straight, white, Christian male. Now they are Chechnyan terrorists, either Mohammedans or Occupy Wallstreeters, so I predict that the MFM interest in this story will die quickly. It will, in merely days, become hard to find out more information on these men. Already, they aren’t saying if they are Muslim or not, and they have to already kno wthe answer to that question. I note from the earlier article that one of them (the one they killed) had a bomb strapped to his chest ‘splodeydope fashion. Simply emulating his heros, or was he hoping for the 72 virgins? Who knows? I don’t think the MFM will be interested in exploring the answers to that kind of question.

    I’m confused:

Tripathi and Mulugeta are out and the Tsarnaev brothers are in ?

  117. 122 | April 19, 2013 8:10 am

    @ Guggi:

Apparently so. They apparently had a running gunfight with the police where they also used IEDs as grenades. The police shot and killed one of them. He’s the one who had the bomb strapped to his chest. The other is on the loose. I hope they take him alive. There are still a lot of unknowns here, including their motive. As I said earlier, though, I expect the media to shy away from this story now, because the perpetrators aren’t politically useful to them.

Boston bomb victim in iconic photo helped identify suspects

    (…)

Just before 3 p.m. on April 15, Bauman was waiting among the crowd for his girlfriend to cross the finish line at the Boston Marathon. A man wearing a cap, sunglasses and a black jacket over a hooded sweatshirt looked at Jeff, 27, and dropped a bag at his feet, his brother, Chris Bauman, said in an interview.

Two and a half minutes later, the bag exploded, tearing Jeff’s legs apart. A picture of him in a wheelchair, bloodied and ashen, was broadcast around the world as he was rushed to Boston Medical Center. He lost both legs below the knee.

“He woke up under so much drugs, asked for a paper and pen and wrote, ‘bag, saw the guy, looked right at me,’” Chris Bauman said yesterday in an interview.

    (…)

Jeff Bauman’s face-to-face confrontation with one of them may have yielded key clues in the manhunt, which intensified yesterday ater the Federal Bureau of Investigation released video images of two men.

While still in intensive care, Bauman gave the FBI a description of the man he saw, his brother said. Bauman’s information helped investigators narrow down whom to look for in hours of video of the attack, he said.
