5 Different Forms Of CBD To Try
January 3, 2019
Cannabidiol, otherwise known as CBD, is becoming a popular alternative to medical marijuana for those interested in reaping the benefits of the cannabis plant. CBD is legal in every state as long as it comes from industrial hemp (that is, cannabis plants with very low THC content). It doesn’t get you high, but it has been shown to be effective in treating numerous neurophysical medical conditions such as anxiety.
CBD is available in five primary forms. Which form is best for you depends on two things: what you are using it for and how quickly you want to feel the effects.
CBD oils are dropped under the tongue, where they are absorbed by the mucous membrane fairly rapidly. They’re available in many different pleasant flavors. This is one of the most popular methods of CBD administration.
It’s important to note that you should not try to vaporize CBD oils meant for oral administration.
Vaping CBD will produce effects more quickly than any other method. But, obviously, this route is a little bit more expensive because you need a vaporizer to do it with. You should not try to take vape liquids orally.
It’s also still unclear what the long-term effects of chronic vaporizer use are (this also goes for e-cigarettes). While many people like to smoke and will be drawn to this method, it is an investment that should be made carefully.
Eating CBD is probably the most entertaining way to use it. Gummies are very popular and often very delicious. Like pills, they may take longer than other methods to produce noticeable effects.
Edibles usually come in fixed doses of five milligrams. This gives them a benefit over other forms, as you can learn your “perfect dose” over time.
If your doctor prescribes you CBD, it will probably be given to you in pill form. The FDA has approved the use of CBD pills in the treatment of certain seizure disorders. You probably should not try to alter your dosage or supplement your prescription with other CBD products.
Creams and Lotions
These are less common forms of CBD typically used to treat muscle pain and joint pain in a specific area. They have been suggested to be effective for treating arthritis. If you use these, you should use a light application and then rub in more as needed.
It might be surprising to learn that CBD comes in so many forms. You should research the benefits of CBD and find out if it is effective against any ailments that you have. Also, if you have tried medical marijuana in the past but were turned off by the psychoactive effects, CBD could be for you. It never hurts to try!
