Kagan supported Shariah law in the U.S.A.

This will not shock anyone, but it seems that while she was Dean of the Harvard Law School, the woefully unqualified and anti-American SCOTUS nominee Elena Kagan supported Shariah law compliance in the United States financial sector. For this reason alone, the GOP should vote against her confirmation. From www.vote.com

KAGAN PROMOTED SHARIAH

Having worked with Elena Kagan at the Clinton White House, Dick was inclined to see her as a political moderate, worthy of support as the best one could expect from the Obama White House. But no more.

Thanks to the work of the Center for Security Policy Director Frank Gaffney and the writing of Andrew McCarthy of the National Review Institute, there has emerged a compelling reason to vote against Kagan’s confirmation as a Supreme Court justice: her support for Shariah law while she was dean of Harvard Law School.

Islamists are seeking to spread Shariah law by inducing American and European financial institutions to establish Shariah Compliant Funds in which their clients can invest. Exposed in our books Fleeced and Outrage, these funds follow the prescriptions of Shariah law in their investments. They routinely collect 2.5 percent of the principal of any investment annually for donation to charitable institutions, fine recipients of their investment 7 percent for transgressions of Shariah law (and donate the fine to charity), and only invest in projects compliant with the rules of Shariah.

Unfortunately, the decisions as to which investments are compliant and which charities receive their benefice are made by Shariah Compliance Boards appointed by the financial institutions that typically include radical Muslim extremists who routinely designate terrorist-linked entities to receive their charitable donations, and they also proscribe investment in any firm engaged in U.S. defense contracting on the ground that the contract could aid Israel.

Most major banks in the U.S. and Europe have established Shariah Compliant Funds, and they had almost $1 trillion under management by 2007 — and likely more today.

At Harvard, Elena Kagan “proceeded to forge the law schools’ ‘Islamic Finance Project.’ ” Its purpose, according to McCarthy, was “to promote Shariah compliance in the U.S. financial sector.”

Indeed, when Harvard’s president, Larry Summers — now in the Obama administration — accepted a $20 million donation for the creation of a program of studies of Islam’s history and Shariah law, Kagan raised no objection. The donation came from Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, a billionaire investor whose contribution of $10 million to the Twin Towers fund was refused by New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani because bin Talal had blamed the 9/11 attack on American foreign policy.

Harvard Law School now has three Saudi-funded institutions devoted to the study of Shariah.

For this reason- if for no other- senators should vote no on her confirmation.

A Top Intellectual on the Burka

by snork ( 110 Comments › )
Filed under Academia, Dhimmitude, Islamic Invasion, Islamic Supremacism, Islamic hypocrisy, Sharia (Islamic Law) at July 13th, 2010 - 11:30 am

I’ve read Martha Nussbaum’s work before, and she always struck me as one of the saner and smarter of the big shot intellectuals. I’ve actually met her, but let’s not go there. In the NYT, she decided to defend the burka against attacks in both Europe and America with what has to be one of the lamest pieces of gobbledygook this side of LGF.

In Spain earlier this month, the Catalonian assembly narrowly rejected a proposed ban on the Muslim burqa in all public places — reversing a vote the week before in the country’s upper house of parliament supporting a ban. Similar proposals may soon become national law in France and Belgium.  Even the headscarf often causes trouble.  In France, girls may not wear it in school.  In Germany (as in parts of Belgium and the Netherlands) some regions forbid public school teachers to wear it on the job, although nuns and priests are permitted to teach in full habit.  What does political philosophy have to say about these developments?   As it turns out, a long philosophical and legal tradition has reflected about similar matters.

Priests teaching with “full habit”? Who knew? Now watch this clever-by-half technique:

Let’s start with an assumption that is widely shared: that all human beings are equal bearers of human dignity.

[snip]

We now add a further premise:

[snip]

And we add one further premise,

Talk about a textbook example of moving the goalposts.

And then she takes it over-the-top by a mile:

(The first sort of damage, which the 17th-century American philosopher Roger Williams compared to imprisonment, happens when people are prevented from outward observances required by their beliefs.  The second sort, which Williams called “soul rape,” occurs when people are forced to affirm convictions that they may not hold, or to give assent to orthodoxies they don’t support.)

Holy crimany. So forbidding burqas in certain contexts is “soul rape”. I wonder what she would say about political correctness?

On the whole, the accommodationist position has been dominant in U. S. law and public culture ─ ever since George Washington wrote a famous letter to the Quakers explaining that he would not require them to serve in the military because the “conscientious scruples of all men” deserve the greatest “delicacy and tenderness.”  For a time, modern constitutional law in the U. S. applied an accommodationist standard, holding that government may not impose a “substantial burden” on a person’s “free exercise of religion” without a “compelling state interest” (of which peace and safety are obvious examples, though not the only ones).   The landmark case articulating this principle concerned a woman, Adell Sherbert, who was a Seventh-Day Adventist and whose workplace introduced a sixth workday, Saturday.   Fired because she refused to work on that day, she sought unemployment compensation from the state of South Carolina and was denied on the grounds that she had refused “suitable work.”  The U. S. Supreme Court ruled in her favor, arguing that the denial of benefits was like fining Mrs. Sherbert for her nonstandard practices: it was thus a denial of her equal freedom to worship in her own way.

This is what you get when you give somebody without any legal training a position at the faculty of a law school.  An argument that would be laughed out of a traffic court. Employment law is a completely different ball game, with completely different standards from civil law. Fail.

Read the whole thing, but take some ibuprofen first. It goes on and on and on with such lamities and WTFs as:

A reasonable demand might be that a Muslim woman have a full face photo on her driver’s license or passport.  With suitable protections for modesty during the photographic session, such a photo might possibly be required.  However, we know by now that the face is a very bad identifier.

And

When Turkey banned the veil long ago, there was a good reason in that specific context: because women who went unveiled were being subjected to harassment and violence.  The ban protected a space for the choice to be unveiled, and was legitimate so long as women did not have that choice.  We might think of this as a “substantial burden” justified (temporarily) by a “compelling state interest.”  But in today’s Europe women can dress more or less as they please; there is no reason for the burden to religious liberty that the ban involves.

It takes an intellectual to get things this not even wrong.

Pat Condell- No mosque at Ground Zero; Harry Potter and Sharia law

by Bob in Breckenridge ( 97 Comments › )

At first, I was going to make this post only about Pat Condell’s youtube video, warning America that the proposed mosque in New York City, just yards away from where these 7th century savages killed 2,605 Americans and others on 9-11 is meant to be a symbol of triumph (which defined means to prove superior) over the civilized world, and NOT a tribute to the victims of these barbarians as they claim.

We know that these savages have no problem lying to the kafir (non-muslims) about what their intentions are, and as a matter of fact their atrocious book of “religious” pornography encourages it, so don’t believe what they claim.

The second part is an op-ed I read in the Washington Times, and as if we really need it, here’s yet another reason why the phony, gutter religion called islam and the civilized world don’t mix well…From the Washington Times-

Harry Potter and Sharia law
Honor killings may not be on the big screen, but a celebrity angle is getting them big coverage

Sometimes, only a celebrity angle can get the public to pay attention to what’s important. The Harry Potter actress who suddenly became subject to Sharia law may be the source of such a moment when the public pays enough attention to create a sea change in national opinion.

On July 2, CNN reported, “The father and brother of a Harry Potter actress will appear in court later this month in Manchester, England, on charges of threatening to kill the young star.” The family is Muslim, and the suspected motives are clear – Afshan Azad, who played Harry’s classmate Padma Patil in the popular movies – was dating a Hindu.

Popular publications including Entertainment Weekly, People and US Weekly are all covering this disturbing but not unprecedented case, bringing a horrifying fact of life in Europe and across the world to the attention of people who don’t immerse themselves in news and politics.

Though the assault on Miss Azad by her father and brother is in the spotlight, such cases are hardly new. Last year in Ohio, teenager Rifqa Bary ran away, claiming her parents threatened to kill her because she had converted to Christianity. The drama received a blip of press coverage, and she remains a ward of the state. Also last year, in Arizona, a Muslim father murdered his daughter by running over her for being too Western.

One of the most horrific and notorious instance of Islamic “honor killing” in recent memory in the United States occurred in Buffalo, N.Y., in February, 2009. The founder of Bridges TV, a television station whose stated purpose was to show a more tolerant and positive view of Muslims and Islam, beheaded his wife. Muzzammil Hassan murdered her in the facilities of the TV station.

Kagan lied to Supreme Court in 9/11 case, should be disbarred and Dhimmitude?

by savage ( 188 Comments › )
Filed under Dhimmitude, Health Care, Judicial, Leftist-Islamic Alliance, Medicare, Religion at June 29th, 2010 - 9:00 pm

From our good friend Alec Rawls.

As Obama’s solicitor general, Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan urged the Court to dismiss the suit that our 9/11 families have been pressing against the Saudi government and several Saudi princes for their extensive funding of al Qaeda. The families sued under the domestic tort exception to sovereign immunity, which according to Kagan’s Supreme Court brief (at p. 14):

requires not merely that the foreign state’s extraterritorial conduct have some causal connection to tortious injury in the United States, but that “the tortious act or omission of that foreign state or of any official or employee” be committed within the United States. 28 U.S.C. 1605(a)(5).

The “tortious act or omission” is the wrongful act (the tort) that leads to the injury. Thus she is claiming that for Saudi funding of al Qaeda to be actionable, the funding itself has to have been transacted within the United States. Compare this with the actual wording of 28 U.S.C. 1605(a)(5):

(a) A foreign state shall not be immune from the jurisdiction of courts of the United States or of the States in any case – … (5) … in which money damages are sought against a foreign state for personal injury or death, or damage to or loss of property, occurring in the United States and caused by the tortious act or omission of that foreign state or of any official or employee of that foreign state while acting within the scope of his office or employment…”

Contrary to Kagan’s assertion, the law only specifies that the injury has to have occurred within the United States. Not a word about the wrongful act that leads to domestic injury also having to have taken place within the United. Kagan flat lied about the clear wording of a law that goes to the very heart of our ability to use the courts to combat Islamic terrorism, and thanks to the Court’s failure to review this crucial case, the simple wording and intent of Congress—that foreign states whose actions do injury in the United States can be sued for those injuries—has now been undone, as if the law had never been passed.

Oops!… I did it again”

Kagan proves that her lie was self conscious by also lying about the relevant Supreme Court precedent, claiming (again at p. 14):

In Amerada Hess the Court considered and rejected the argument that domestic effects of a foreign state’s conduct abroad satisfy the exception. 488 U.S. at 441.

In fact, the Court in Amerada never considered “the domestic effects of a foreign state’s conduct abroad” at all, for the simple reason that there were no domestic injuries in that case. The injuries occurred outside of U.S. territory, which is why the domestic tort exception was held not to apply. Here are the simple facts, as recounted in Justice Rehnquist’s majority opinion (joined by Brennan, White, Stevens, O’Connor, Scalia and Kennedy):

… the injury to respondents’ ship occurred on the high seas some 5,000 miles off the nearest shores of the United States. Despite these telling facts, respondents nonetheless claim that the tortious attack on the Hercules occurred “in the United States.” [At p. 440.]

The Amerada Company ship was attacked at sea. Since the tortious act and the damages from it both occurred “5,000 miles off the nearest shores,” the Court did not bother to distinguish between the wrongful act and the injuries from it. Kagan uses this to claim that the Court found Amerada’s domestic injuries to be unrecoverable, when in fact the Supremes agreed with the district court that there were no domestic injuries (p. 439-441).

Andrew McCarthy takes on the mistaken idea our “leaders” keep perpetuating that somehow “islamic extremists” are not following their “peaceful religion” as it was intended by mo. They should read their holey (intentional) book sometime.

We’ve tried “radical Islam,” “extremist Islam,” “fundamentalist Islam,” and “sharia Islam.” Inevitably, political correctness gave us “political Islam.” Now, ironically, under the guise of correcting an even worse case of political correctness, comes what we might call “Bon Jovi Islam.” Its proponent, Sen. Joe Lieberman, is halfway there and livin’ on a prayer.

Sen. Lieberman’s Wall Street Journal essay “Who’s the Enemy in the War on Terror?” gets it halfway right. He is justifiably dismayed over the Obama administration’s whitewashing of the Islamist part of Islamist terror. The president, he elaborates, “rightly reaffirms that America remains a nation at war,” but self-defeatingly “refuses to identify our enemy.” For Lieberman, the administration’s preferred claim that we are at war with “violent extremism,” is absurd. Our foe, in truth, is a particular, identifiable component of the Muslim world.

All exactly right . . . except that Lieberman proceeds to do the very thing he accuses Obama of doing: miniaturizing the threat. The enemy, he pronounces, is “violent Islamist extremism.” He diagnoses its cause to be “a terrorist political ideology” that “exploits” what most Muslims, according to Lieberman, understand to be “the enormous difference between their faith” and this ideology’s tenets.

[...]

Read it all: Bon Jovi Islam

I can’t understand why they INSIST that these people are (as Robert Spencer likes to call them) misunderstanders of islam. Jihadis understand islam very well. The taliban has it down pat. Whole islamic governments tout sharia as the truth, the light, the … way… It’s in the koran.

Verse 2:216
Yusuf Ali:
Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But God knoweth, and ye know not.

Zohurul Hoque:
Fighting has been prescribed for you, but it is of dislike to you. And it may be that you dislike something while it is good for you; and it may be that you love something while it is bad for you. And Allah knows while you do not know.

T. J. Irving:
Fighting is also prescribed for you even though it may seem detestable to you. It may be that you detest something which is good for you; while perhaps you love something even though it is bad for you. God knows, while you do not know.”

T.U. Hilali-M. Khan:
Jihâd (holy fighting in Allâh’s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allâh knows but you do not know.

M. Pickthall:
Warfare is ordained for you, though it is hateful unto you; but it may happen that ye hate a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that ye love a thing which is bad for you. Allah knoweth, ye know not.

M.H. Shakir:
Fighting is enjoined on you, and is an object of dislike to you; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know.

I’m not saying that every single muslim in the world is a jihadi, but too many support them with silence. They support them by claiming any critic of islam is just a bigot without a reason to think islam is anything but a wonderful, progressive religion instead of the backwards, medieval, repressive religion it has been proven to be.

And ya wonder why the taxpayers think that the Teacher’s Unions are a bad idea…I am sure that the whores that are in leadership of the local union at South Yarmouth will defend these traitorous so called ‘educators’…frankly these two teachers need to try this stunt at a local Teamster’s meeting and see what happens.

SOUTH YARMOUTH — Some students are calling for the firing of two Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School teachers who held an anti-war sign during a school assembly Friday.

History teacher Marybeth Verani and English teacher Adeline Koscher made their silent protest during the part of the assembly in which school officials recognized graduating seniors who are entering the military.

“They not only imposed their political will, they imposed it at the wrong time,” said D-Y junior Andrew Bowles Jr., who organized an after-school protest yesterday that drew about 30 students.

Parents and other community members have flooded the high school principal’s office with about 40 e-mails and phone calls criticizing the teachers’ actions.

“I honestly feel (the protest) was misplaced,” said D-Y parent Joanne Schuman of Yarmouth. “I think they should have been removed from that event.”

Some individuals have voiced support for the two teachers, who were put on paid leave until at least tomorrow, Verani said.

She said she and Koscher were not trying to undermine the students but “to address the expansion of military recruitment of children in our schools.

James Kinney of West Barnstable, who knows Verani and wrote a letter to the editor of the Cape Cod Times in her support, defended the teachers.

“I think that it’s important to show dissent,” he said. “I think that’s the highest form of patriotism.”

Tool.

The highest form of patriotism is not holding a protest sign, you stinking quimby. This is the highest form of patriotism.

Maureen Tuohy-Bedford, whose son Evan Tuohy-Bedford just graduated and has joined the U.S. Marine Corps, wouldn’t let the protestors ruin Friday’s assembly.

“The ceremony was beautiful,” she said. “So many people did the right thing.

God Speed, Marine.

UC Irvine recommends suspension of campus’ Muslim student group

University officials recommend the suspension after members disrupted a speech by the Israeli ambassador earlier this year, heightening a debate about free speech that has roiled the campus.

UPDATING as i get more info…

The decision appears to be the first in recent memory at UC recommending the ban of a student group for something other than hazing or alcohol abuse.

In making the suspension recommendation, Lisa Cornish, UC Irvine’s director of student housing, found that the Muslim Student Union had “planned, orchestrated and coordinated in advance” an effort to disrupt a speech by Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren on Feb. 8 about U.S.-Israeli relations. The recommendation was made in late May but not made public at that time.

Oren was shouted down repeatedly by Muslim students who stood up and delivered statements such as “Michael Oren, propagating murder is not an expression of free speech.” Supporters cheered as the students were escorted away by police, and each time Oren attempted to resume his speech, another student jumped up with another outburst.

OH, and this is just perfect: “Reem Salahi, the students’ attorney, described the suspension recommendation as “excessive” and “draconian.” She said it is not final and that her clients have appealed the decision.”…Salahi said she worried the recommendation could jeopardize Muslim life on campus. Victor Sanchez, president of the systemwide UC Student Assn., said he was outraged. “It’s almost impossible not to interpret this as a means of the university to silence dissent,” he said.

HEY VIC…go **** a goat, you sellout. I would love to meet with you to discuss the finer points of Pentjak Silat. Vic, you are a race/culture traitor. You gave up your proud latin heritage and got on your knees for the ummah, you sir, are scum. One day you are going to grow up and you will be embarrassed by what you did in your younger days.

The EVC will work to make the University of California Students Association (UCSA) and the United States Students Association (USSA) more transparent to officers and the General Body, making sure the undergraduate population knows of the opportunities these two associations have to offer. UAE company part of bid to help manage 9/11 Ground Zero Freedom Tower

I really don’t have much to say on this other than it’s another example of the Islamic influence in America. Once again we are blinded by money and are enabling the Islamic colonization of America. It’s bad enough that both parties are Dhimmified and bow before the House of Saud and give preference to Islamic Immigrants. Now we are allowing a company based in Abu Dhabi to bid and possibly help manage the new Freedom Tower when it is completed.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will soon decide which partner will manage and help market the tower, which has been renamed One World Trade Center. The partner will invest at least $100 million onto the office tower and memorial building.

Related Co. is an international real estate group whose investors include Goldman Sachs; MSD Capital, LP; Mubadala Development Company; Kuwait Investment Authority; and Olayan Group, according to the company’s website.

Mubadala Development Company is owned by the Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, government.

Johnson reports that Related Cos. is involved in a joint project with the UAE-backed-company, which is chaired by the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Johnson said Related Cos. also has ties to the Saudi Arabian royal family and to financiers based in Dubai.

Read it all: Company Bidding to Help Manage Tower at Ground Zero Has Arab Ties

With the Ground Zero Islamic community center and now this travesty, Bin Laden no longer looks crazy for attacking the US. He obviously read us right and knew we would not admit who are enemy was.

Disgusting: Seventh century islamic savages hang a seven year old boy for being a “spy”

I hate these MF’ers. Here’s yet another reason to ban this muslim swine from being allowed to emigrate to our country, or any other civilized country. And don’t even try to sell me, or any of us normal people, on this “religion of peace” bullshit.

If they, the supposedly “tolerant” muslims, were truly a religion of peace, we’d have heard them denouncing 9-11-01, and every other terrorist attack carried out by their muslim “brothers”, in the name of their sewer-dwelling faux “god” Allah and their pedophile prophet Moo-hamed (Piss be upon her), since about 9-12-01, and all those committed before and after.

But we’ve heard nothing. Other than their silence. And their silence is deafening.

Of course, we haven’t heard any denouncements. And we never will.

Because those who follow the teachings of this child raping pervert Moo-hamed (Piss be upon her) agree with what has been done in the name of their phony god.

British PM David Cameron was outraged by this. Where’s Obama’s outrage? Oh, I guess he’s too busy golfing. Or maybe he’s on vacation. Again. What a worthless piece of shit.

Taliban hang 7-year-old boy accused of being a spy

Twisted Taliban militants took terror to a new low by accusing a 7-year-old boy of spying – and hanging him high.

That outrage drew immediate condemnation from the Afghan president, who called the execution a “crime against humanity.”

“I don’t think there’s a crime bigger than that, that even the most inhuman forces on earth can commit,” Hamid Karzai said Thursday. “A 7-year-old boy cannot be a spy. A 7-year-old boy cannot be anything but a 7-year-old boy

[...]

As news of the hanging unfolded, the war-torn country was hit with further tragedy as a suicide bomber hit a wedding party, killing at least 40 and severely wounding more than 70 people.

Several children were among the dead and wounded. Bits of flesh and severed limbs covered the site.

A Taliban spokesman denied responsibility for the deadly attack.

[...]

At least 17 U.S. service members have been killed in the past four days, including four Americans who died Wednesday when insurgents in Helmand province’s Sangin district – one of the most volatile in the country and where the 7-year-old boy was hanged – shot down a NATO helicopter.

Wilders: “The Netherlands chose more security, less crime, less immigration and less Islam.”

Bwahahahaha! Heads will be exploding over at Chuckle’s cesspool, starting with the pony-tailed moron that runs the shithole… BTW, don’t you just love it when people, who want to stand up for their country, the rule of law and their way of life, are deemed “far right” by these lib dhimmis, I mean dummies?

Dutch election: Liberals take one-seat lead as far-right party grows in influence

With 88 per cent of the votes counted, published partial results showed the Liberals with 31 and Labour on 30.

But the real victory went to Geert Wilders’ Party for Freedom (PVV), which demands an end to immigration from Muslim countries and a ban on new mosques. The PVV took its number of seats from nine in the last parliament to 24, and could hope to enter a coalition government.

The far-right leader with his distinctive shock of fair hair called the result “magnificent”.

“The impossible has happened,” he told a televised party gathering. “We are the biggest winner today. The Netherlands chose more security, less crime, less immigration and less Islam.”

The election ousted Christian Democrat Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende from eight years in office.

The Liberals’ narrow lead gives leader Mark Rutte a mandate to form a coalition and become prime minister, but sticking to his austerity policies could prove tough because he needs at least three other parties to secure a parliamentary majority.

And then there’s this:

Far-right election breakthrough shocks Netherlands

The spectacular election breakthrough of the far-right anti-Muslim Party for Freedom shocked the Netherlands on Thursday as two mainstream parties braced for weeks of coalition haggling.

The pro-business Liberal VVD party had 31 seats and the Labour party (PvdA) 30, with 99.6 percent of the vote counted after Wednesday’s election.

But far-right PVV leader Geert Wilders demanded a share of government after his party came third with 24 seats, more than doubling its current nine seats in the 150-member parliament.

“Nobody in The Hague can bypass the PVV anymore,” said Wilders, whose party wants an end to immigration from Muslim countries and a ban on new mosques and the Koran.

“We want to be part of the new government,” declared Wilders, a distinctive figure with a shock of dyed blonde hair who is under 24-hour protection and has to live at secret addresses because of his controversial political stand.

France’s far-right National Front hailed the PVV’s “great success”, while the CMO Dutch Muslim organisation expressed disappointment.

Get the Hell Out of…My Face
By Sara K. Eisen

Here’s the thing. I’ve been thinking about poor Helen Thomas, who I believe was probably just saying what everyone thinks and has therefore been made a scapegoat. Not that I really care, because we ought to share the scapegoat status once in a while. It’s the least we can do to dispel the stereotype that we are stingy, us irritating Jews.

Irritating enough, apparently – like the too-talented and bossy fame-hog Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) on Fox’s Glee – in our discovery of the written word, monotheism, modern physics, psychology, vaccinations, and the film industry, that every country that has ever “hosted” us has found it necessary to tell us to get the hell out, like Thomas did. (Ironically, the aforementioned Jewish character Rachel, in a particularly annoying moment in one episode, was told by classmates to move to Israel. I doubt the writers coordinated this telling joke – Jews do equal Israel in the eyes of the world, sorry J Street – with the State Department.)

Helen, you know why we were in Germany and much of Eastern Europe in the first place? (And by the way, if I follow your advice, do you think the nice old ladies who got my grandmothers’ large houses and farms from the Nazis in what was once Czechoslovakia will kick the property back two generations? That would be cool because I’d love a vineyard and an agricultural estate.)

We were in Germany and Hungary and Czechoslovakia and Russia (where we were regularly just plain killed by Cossacks), and also, for many centuries, Poland (ditto), because we were told to get the hell out of England, France, and Spain. (Or, you know, just plain killed by handsome and heroic fairytale knights.)

And you know why we were in Western Europe to begin with? Because we were told by the Greeks and the Romans – wait for it – to get the hell out of “Palestine,” where we had been living since the beginning of recorded history.

We also ended up in Babylonia (Iraq) and other Middle Eastern and North African countries, where we stayed as second class citizens for hundreds and hundreds of years, till the Arab world finally caught up with the pagans and the Christians in their hatred of the Jews. Amazing how the student has now far surpassed the teacher. But I digress.

(By the way, I am aware that the Arab narrative has us Ashkenazi Jews as descendants of the Khazars, but the actual facts have it different. See this new DNA study linking European Jews with their Middle Eastern counterparts, all stemming from one original population of Holy Land Jews predating Roman times. Never mind our own texts that say the same thing; I know they are inadmissible in the international courts of the mind.)

In any event, there is no way around it: Jews being asked (usually not by old ladies on the White House lawn) to get the hell out of anywhere and everywhere is just the way it goes.

So it came to pass that about 200 years BCE the Macabees got sick of it and established a Jewish state in Palestine, within the Roman Empire, which lasted till about the time of Jesus (another Pesky Jew) and the destruction of the Second Temple.

And it also came to pass that Jewish settlers began arriving in Ottoman Palestine in the late 1800’s, after the Russians and the Poles made it clear that Jews were persona non grata in Eastern Europe. Palestine was as good a place as any to escape to, since it was the last place, about 2000 years before, that the Jews had a sovereign state (see above). Never mind Jewish liturgy and texts pining for Jerusalem, since I know these, too, are inadmissible in the international courts of the mind.

Anyway, nowhere else wanted European Jews any more than Russia did, not even America really, where there were very strict quotas, although the Americans, again politely, refrained from all the messy European killing, which was apparently in vogue until after Hitler. Besides, those Ottoman Turks, as now, were known around the world for their amazing human rights activism and the Jews were excited to see it first hand. (No, not really. But…they were better than the Polish peasants. Unless you were Armenian.)

It is true that there were people in Palestine before the Jews arrived en masse (for there was always a handful of Jews that remained here….), not ‘A People,’ but rather a group of assorted regional Arabs (think Native American tribes in North America…who by the way were treated much worse by the Colonialists…) who had settled the area with not much agricultural success and had endured various rulers over the millennia.

But when the Jews came back, it was suddenly necessary, once again, to tell them to get the hell out. There was no living side by side, even though that was an express Jewish desire right up until 1947/8, when the Partition Plan was summarily rejected by the Arab League, who started the war that Israel won. If keeping land you win in a war others provoke (when you wanted to make peace) is called occupation, Helen, the world’s axis of furious justice has a lot bigger fish to fry than Israel.

The Arab desire to kick the Jews the hell out of Palestine did not begin in 1967, and not in 1948. It began the moment the initial groups of Jews arrived and started to make the land flower and produce crops. That’s when the attacks on Jews began, and when the Arab world decided a new Jewish presence in the land would not do, back when there were about half a million Arabs and just under 100,000 Jews in the Holy Land, in the early 1900’s. Twenty percent was too much, apparently, to bear. (The Hebron Massacre of 1929, where marauding Arabs killed nearly 70 Jews and wounded countless others, took place long before a single house was built over the Green Line.) I can only imagine how awful it was – probably for both the Arabs and the British – when it became clear we were here to stay and grow to much further percentages. We are that annoying, what with trying to get rid of malaria and tuberculosis and everything.

At any rate, it seems that every time a Jewish minority starts to make a society too successful – so annoying!!!! – the indigenous people start to feel very uncomfortable, and tells them one way or another to get the hell out.

But now, alas, there is nowhere left for us to go, except the eternal place Ahmadinejad wants us to go, and Haniyeh and Nasralla, and Hitler before them, and Chemilniki before him, and Haman before him, and so on. And, I suspect, in her heart of hearts, perhaps Thomas and the likes of her, who, the pesky Jew Freud may have observed, seriously let her slip show.

Let me make it clear: I know that Israel has made mistakes over its 62 years, some clumsy and inept (was there no intelligence regarding the terrorists aboard the Mavi Marmara?!?), and some borderline immoral. But none worse than every other democracy on earth has also done, and most much better than the large majority of the UN rogue nations which condemn Israel daily have done…daily. There is MUCH to improve in the way we govern, I will be the first to say it. I will also be the first to say that various Jews of the Bernie Madoff and Greed-is-Good-Goldman-Sachs ilk make me want to crawl under a rock. I know that the world is only waiting for these guys to emerge in order to pin their crimes on all of us, even though everything they do is in direct contradiction of actual Jewish values.

But let’s be honest: the international community’s human rights crusades on behalf of the Palestinians are just the latest Crusades, and the ones who REALLY suffer are not the Jews or the Israelis but the poor occupants of the Third World who are ignored while the enlightened First World castigates the Jews… and yes, of course, the Palestinians, who are kept in misery by their own leadership in order to provide the polite Jew haters with a media club to beat them with.

So here’s the thing: We are not going anywhere this time, Helen. We totally get it: Ya’ll pretty much hate us. It’s just the way it is, like a natural law. Nothing we can do – not giving away pieces of Palestine / Israel (witness our evacuation of Gaza in 2005, and handing over the keys to army bases and greenhouses- a new economy! Food for the children! – which were summarily torched as property of the infidels); not donating billions annually to global charity, nor discovering a cure for Polio or the Theory of Relativity, or writing revered legal and religious texts, or co-founding Google, or manufacturing the microprocessor in the majority of laptops that spew Jew hatred to the Internet, or founding Christianity itself, or championing women’s rights and gay rights in the US and helping to bring about a human rights revolution in America in the 60’s. None of those things will absolve us of our real sin: Existing and overcoming.

I’m really sorry they told you to get the hell out of the White House, Helen. It really wasn’t your fault that you thought you could say what you said. It’s not like it’s a secret: That’s what people think.

But this time, seriously. Getting the hell out is not in the cards. We’re just sick of moving all the time.

I know. Irritating.

The cartoon villain, beyond sympathy and redemption

William Shawcross is the son of the man who was Winston Churchill’s lawyer. He provides an excellent insight into the irrational minds in Europe when it comes to the topic of Israel.  Israel is always the aggressor no matter how many times she is attacked or provoked. Another person who is keenly aware that something  obscenely vicious is going on is Melanie Phillips. Her book “The World Turned Upside Down: The Global Battle Over God, Truth and Power” is  a superb analysis of the lack of reason and rationality gripping much of the western World.

by William Shawcross

‘Shut up. Go back to Auschwitz.” That was the response from the “peace flotilla” when Israel broadcast a radio message warning the Turkish flotilla that it was about to enter an area under naval blockade. In another response, someone on board the “humanitarian aid convoy” replied: “We’re helping the Arabs go against the US. Don’t forget 9/11, guys.” After these exchanges, IDF commandos landed on the ships. On the Mavi Marmara they were attacked by pro-Palestinian activists wielding iron bars.

Turkish papers have now published photographs of soldiers bleeding badly as they are assaulted by thugs.

Eventually the commandos shot back in self-defense and nine activists were killed. It was a disaster for Israel and a triumph for those who hate Israel, Jews and the West. Bulent Yildirim, head of the Turkish Islamist organization IHH, which organized the flotilla, exulted in a speech to an audience he called “people of paradise.” “Last night, everything in the world has changed, and everything is progressing toward Islam,” he said.

THAT IS the reality today. Consider these words from Sheikh Hussein bin Mahmud, a pseudonymous but apparently popular commentator in the global jihadist community: “Everyone who has had contact with the Jews and lived alongside them, in the East and in the West, has spurned them, loathed them and detested them, to the point where Hitler said, ‘I could kill all the Jews in the world, but I left a few alive so that the entire world will know why I killed the Jews.’”

[...]

The realities of Gaza, Israel and the West Bank – where, with Israel’s assistance, the Palestinian economy is booming – are deemed irrelevant to the conventional narrative. Israel is a cartoon villain, beyond sympathy, beyond even redemption. What is deeply shocking – and frightening – is that the narrative the world accepts is always that of Israel the evildoer.

Another surrender to radical Islam in Britain

The British  must not offend their Muslim citizens by saying things that are obvious but make the Muslims look bad. Winston Churchill is doing double somersaults in his grave. “Patronizing twaddle” (as a survivor of  that day called it) indeed! However if you read the British press or listen to the television  over there, you would think that Israel and Britain were at war and that the Israelis are the biggest threats to the United Kingdom.

by David Barret

Senior civil servants warned ministers that if they ordered a public inquiry into the July 7 suicide bombings it could “focus negatively” on Britain’s Muslim community, it can be revealed.

The warning was delivered in a briefing paper to Charles Clarke, the then-home secretary, as he considered whether or not to launch an inquiry into the 2005 bombings, in which 52 innocent people were killed.

In the paper, Sir John Gieve, the Home Office permanent secretary, said that upsetting Muslims would be a “potential cost” of ministers agreeing to demands for a full inquiry.

After receiving Sir John’s paper, Mr Clarke decided not to order a public inquiry – a decision which infuriated many survivors and relatives of those killed.

[...]

As an alternative to a public inquiry the Home Office published, a year after the bombings, a “narrative” drafted by its own officials which merely set out the events leading up to the bombings, with little analysis of underlying causes.

Sir John’s note, written four months after the bombings but newly-released under Freedom of Information laws, outlines the determination of senior civil servants to ensure that any inquiries into the atrocity were “low key”.

It warned of “potential community tension in the event that any inquiry came to be perceived as an exercise in special pleading by one community, or alternatively if it was believed that it focused negatively on the Muslim community”.

[...]

In a section of his paper about the scope of any inquiry, Sir John proposed it could take a “narrow” or a “broad” format. He wrote: “In my view the case is strongest for a narrow inquiry ie simply telling the story of 7/7 and what led up to it.

“It seems to me we want something low key and probably non-statutory.”

He also suggested appointing someone to hold a “short narrow inquiry” likely to take three months, with full access to the police.

Jacqui Putnam, a survivor of the Edgware Road Tube bombing, said: “This is outrageous. It is such patronising twaddle.

Lone Jewish High School Student Faces Down Arab Mob in L.A.

Lone Jewish High School Student Faces Down Arab Mob in LA

A loud and angry mob of pro-Arab demonstrators outside the Israeli consulate in Los Angeles on Tuesday became even more enraged when one, lone Jewish high school student with a yarmulke and a large Israeli flag marched fearlessly alongside them.

The young man seemed to be unmoved by the angry curses hurled at him by the American-Arab crowd. Though protected by a line of policemen, it appeared he could be attacked at any moment.

Reporters asked him afterwards about his unusual presence, and he explained, “I came out because I want to defend Israel…They (the soldiers attempting to divert the flotilla ships) were attacked, and they had the right to defend [themselves]. These people [on the boats] were not humanitarians; their ship was armed with knives, batons, and all kinds of things to attack the Israelis with. There is a naval blockade on Gaza, and they [the soldiers] were just doing their job of enforcing it… Hamas is a terrorist organization trying to kill Israelis.”

Asked if he is affiliated with any group, he said, “Just Judaism and Israel, that’s it.”
