Dor Chadash hosts event about Spanish Jews at the Center for Jewish History

Last night, your’s truly went to a phenomenal cultural event at the Center for Jewish History. In light of the recent posts concerning Spain on Blogmocracy, this event was particularly comforting.

Dor Chadash, an American Jewish-Israeli friendship society planned a night which celebrated Sephardic (Spanish) Jews and their history, and also examined present-day Jewish-Spanish relations. I had no idea what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised.

Firstly, there was Shelomo Alfassa, who spoke about the history of Jews in Spain.

Alfassa

Mr. Alfassa pulled no punches, and spoke openly and frankly about the Spanish expulsion of Jewry and the Inquisition, but he also spoke about the Almohad Empire under Islam, and how there was an Inquisition of Jews (and Catholics) even prior to the Inquisition and Expulsion of 1492. He made a handout of the history of Jews in Spain, and showed truthfully how at times life was better for Jews under Christian rule, and at times it was better under Islamic rule, but that life under Ferdinand and Isabella, while horrific for Spanish Jews, was better than under the Islamic Almohads, who actually said “convert or die,” rather than “convert, leave, or die.” (which was what Ferdinand and Isabella said) In short, Alfassa was an accurate historian, and not an apologist for anyone. He ended his talk by saying that General Franco saved thousands of Jews during the Holocaust, in part because it was rumored that he himself came from Converso (Jews who converted but stayed Jewish in secret) blood, and he thanked Spain for saving so many Jews.

Then there was the highlight of the evening, and the reason I feel much more optimistic about Spain than I did before. Fernando Villalonga, Consul General of Spain (to NYC) spoke. And my, did he speak!

Villalonga

Mr. Villalonga spoke about how Spaniards literally are unaware of their past with Jews, and rather than being antisemitic, they are simply ignorant, and force-fed the pap that is the leftist European media. He said that he didn’t even understand what a Jew was until he worked at the consulate in Buenos Aires, and then he did reading and understood more about Spanish history. But then Villalonga went on, and expressed remorse that the Spanish Jews left, saying that Spain never recovered culturally from this expulsion, and that there was a gap in the country for centuries afterwards. He said that Spain needs to improve its education system, in order to properly teach its youngsters about the history with Jews, and their past culture. Mr. Villalonga said that part of the unknown history is that there is a huge Magen David (Star of David – a Jewish symbol) outside the Valencia Church – and no one knows about this or pays attention.

Valencia Cathedral

He said that Spanish people often use the word “Shabbat” to describe cleaning their homes on Saturday – not understanding what the term means. He also said that so many people have last names with Jewish origins, and just are unaware of their past.

He said that the antisemitic Spanish media is most leftist in the same way as the typically leftist European media, which fails to adequately distinguish between “Jew” and “Israel,” and which of course blames the Mideast conflict on Israel. He essentially said that the antisemitism in Spain today is essentially due to ignorance combined with a typically Euro-leftist media, more than it is based upon an age-old Spanish hatred of Jews.

But then there was question and answer, and during the Q&A, Mr. Villalonga said that he does not agree with multi-culturalism, and Spain has a problem with Islamic immigrants who are not integrating. He said that Spain is only a few years away from turning into France, where 60,000 cars were torched last year, and that a smarter immigration policy, as well as policy of integrating the Islamic minority, is required. He said that women’s rights cannot be compromised, and he firmly said that Spain needs to stand up for Western values and heritage. I literally applauded him several times during his talk. Mr. Villalonga was no post-modern typical European. He said things that few, save for Geert Wilders and maybe a handful of others, are willing to say. He then said that he wished more Jews moved to Spain, and there is a law in Spain that says Sephardic Jews only have to live in Spain for one year before they are granted citizenship. As a Sephardic Jew myself, I am shocked about this!

It should be noted that my friend asked about universal jurisdiction. Specifically, there has been a push in Europe, which the Zapatero administration has been a part of, to pull in IDF officers anywhere in the world into court on ‘war crimes.’ Mr. Villalonga told my friend that he was against universal jurisdiction, which Spain enacted into law after the whole Pinochet bruhaha. Source.

Then there was the cultural presentation. There was a Ladino (which is the Judeo-Latin language) band, who sang five songs. One of the songs, written hundreds of years ago, was written by a member of the Sephardic diaspora who sang with longing on the dream of Jews to return to Spain. Yes, Spain!

Ladino band

Afterwards, there was a flamenco dancer, who actually explained the origins of flamenco dancing as related in part to Jewish dancing!

Flamenco

Overall, this evening was a huge success, and I only look forward to more such events in the future. I think this was much-needed, in light of the horrible diplomatic incidents going on recently between Israel and Spain. Hopefully this post will educate others in a helpful manner!

Palestinians: Jews Are Bacteria, Should Be Annihilated

While discussing the teachings of the (unholy) Koran, Hamas Deputy Minister of Religious Endowments calls for Jews to be annihilated, adding that they are nothing but bacteria and not even human beings.

MEMRI TV Clip preaching about Jews as bacteria from Vlad Tepes on Vimeo.

Abdallah Jarbu’: “[The Jews] suffer from a mental disorder, because they are thieves and aggressors. A thief or an aggressor, who took property or land, develops a psychological disorder and pangs of conscience, because he took something that wasn’t his.

“They want to present themselves to the world as if they have rights, but, in fact, they are foreign bacteria – a microbe unparalleled in the worldIt’s not me who says this. The Koran itself says that they have no parallel: ‘You shall find the strongest men in enmity to the believers to be the Jews.’

“May He annihilate this filthy people who have neither religion nor conscience.  I condemn whoever believes in normalizing relations with them, whoever supports sitting down with them, and whoever believes that they are human beings.  They are not human beings.  They are not people. They have no religion, no conscience, and no moral.

{The Article from MEMRI}

This is not the first time that someone has described the Jewish people as subhuman bacteria, or called for their annihilation.  The claims being made today by this modern day Muslim Nazi, are nearly identical to those made decades ago by the German Nazis.  Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the World leaders have decided to ignore it either, relying instead on hope and appeasement to dissuade their generation’s genocidal maniacs.

Does anyone still really believe that this vicious Jew hatred based on the Koran will magically end if Israel were to create a “Palestinian” State in Judea & Samaria?  An emboldened Hamas, and these comments are the result of attempting to create a “State” in Gaza!  Don’t be fooled!  The so-called “Palestinians” are nothing short of Muslim Nazis who openly admit they share Hitler’s ultimate goal!

Wake up World!  This is not about land disputes, it is about Jewish survival!

The Spanish disease

by Speranza ( 67 Comments › )

A familiar disease is sweeping Western Europe from Ireland to Britain to Sweden to Belgium, to Germany and  Spain. It is the oldest hatred and it is getting bolder since there is no longer any price to pay for it. Ever since Spain voted the left-wing Jose Luis Rodriguez  Zapatero in 2004, (replacing  the great Jose Aznar) in as Prime Minister, and reelected him in 2008,  in addition to 20% unemployment, Spain (the land of the reconquista and conqusitadors) has been bending over backwards to appease their historic enemies.

Editorial

A virulently anti-Israel tribunal likened to a “lynching” by the Israeli Embassy in Madrid is the most recent in a spate of anti-Semitic incidents instigated by Spaniards. This flurry of attacks on Israel has caused us to pause and ask, What is happening on the Iberian peninsula and what can we do to combat it?

Gathering at the beginning of this month in Barcelona, which in the 13th century hosted one of Jewish history’s most illustrious communities, the tribunal, which did not include a representative of Israel, was tasked with examining “on what level the European Union and its member states are complicit in… violations on the part of Israel of the rights of the nation of Palestine.”

The Israeli Embassy said it was no coincidence that the “Rusell Tribunal,” named after British philosopher Bertrand Russell, was held in Spain and that it was funded by Barcelona’s city hall, noting the “worrying situation of anti-Semitism” in the country.

At the end of February, meanwhile, the embassy received dozens of postcards written by Spanish schoolchildren with messages such as “Jews kill for money,” “Leave the country to the Palestinians” and “Go somewhere where they will accept you.”

And in mid-February, Ambassador to Spain Rafi Shotz protested the display of two pieces of art at the International Art Fair in Madrid with virulently anti-Israel messages. One is a sculpture of a menorah sprouting from the barrel of an Uzi sub-machine gun. The other is a highly realistic polyurethane sculpture of a hassid standing on the shoulders of a Catholic priest who is kneeling on a prostrate Muslim worshiper, called “Stairway to Heaven.”

In an interview with El Pais, Catalan artist Eugenio Merino, who made both sculptures, defended his art with the claim that “Stairway to Heaven” has been bought by a Belgian Jew for €45,000.

Ambassador Shotz, who was verbally assaulted last year with epithets such as “dirty Jew,” “Jew bastard” and “Jew murderer” when he and his wife returned from a soccer game accompanied by police, chose not to demand the removal of the displays, fearing it would spark additional anti-Semitic incidents.

Spain has a long, infamous history of anti-Semitism that pre-dates the Inquisition. For centuries after the 1492 Expulsion, Spaniards enforced the ban against Jews setting foot on Spanish soil. Francisco Franco’s fascist, pro-Arab dictatorship that ruled Spain from 1939 to 1975 stoked anti-Israel sentiments.

New Study: Capitalism Newer Than We Thought

A world leader has uncovered some new facts about history. In this interview, Van Jones Mahmoud Ahmadinejad tells us what we all already know:

The president described the September 11, 2001 destruction of the twin World Trade Center buildings in New York as a preconceived “scenario and a sophisticated intelligence measure” and emphasized that the 9/11 incident was a “big lie intended to serve as a pretext for fighting terrorism and setting the grounds for sending troops to Afghanistan.”

But here’s the real news:

Ahmadinejad reiterated that with the advent of the Islamic Revolution the materialistic mentality was challenged and Marxism was destroyed.

“Today,” he added, “With blessings from the Almighty, the Capitalist system, founded by the Zionists, has also reached an end.”

[Scratches head]

Mr. Jones Ahmadinejad didn’t explain how it was that Marxism, which was a reaction against capitalism, could have happened before the Zionists invented capitalism.

Clever, those Zionists.

As most of us here already know, the true bigots and anti-Semites are on the left. You know, those understanding, tolerant and all-caring liberals/progressives. Yeah right. Piss on those scumbags. Most college campuses are nothing but places of intolerance, ignorance and anti-Semitism, where it’s not only okay to attack Israel and call for its destruction, but downright “chic”.

But just don’t protest the worldwide jihad the muslims are committing on a daily basis against Christians and Jews, and followers of other religions or no religion at all. Here’s a 6 minute video from some of our institutions of higher “learning”, along with a viewing guide-

VIEWING GUIDE

Shaping the World

College is a time for social action, student protest and the formulation of ideas and worldviews; a time to broaden one’s mind and for students to begin to shape the world they live in. In North America, college students have been instrumental in some of the biggest protest movements of the 20th Century, including the fight to end the Vietnam War, Women’s Rights and the Civil Rights Movement. Today, the activism continues with students fighting against the genocides in Tibet and Darfur and the war in Iraq.

Anti-Israel or Anti-Semitic?

There is one issue that seems to evoke more hostility then any other – Israel. Israel’s Operation Cast Lead at the close of 2008 evoked feelings of resentment and hatred from people throughout the world. There was something “different” about the protests that this war sparked as the line between anti-Israel policy and anti-Semitism became blurred. These protests weren’t just against Israel but also against the Jewish People. Around the world, synagogues and Jewish graves were desecrated and anti-Semitic chants were shouted at protests – even on the streets of America.

The UN’s “Palestine”: The Real Apartheid State

It is long overdue that those who support Israel begin to go on the offensive against the enemies of Israel, here and abroad, and make them spend all their time and money defending their existence.

Luckily for the Pro-Israel crowd this can be done with simple facts and the truth.  What better time to start this campaign then now?

The “Palestine” envisaged by the UN is an apartheid state in the making…

And since its inception in 1994, the newly constituted Palestinian Authority, created by the PLO, has prepared the rudiments of a Palestinian State, modeled  on the rules of Apartheid and institutionalized discrimination:

1. The right of Palestinian Arab refugees and their descendents to return to Arab villages lost in 1948 will be protected by the new Palestinian state.

2. While 20% of Israel’s citizens are Arabs, not one Jew will be allowed to live in a Palestinian State

3. Anyone who sells land to a Jew will be liable to the death penalty in the Palestinian State

4. Those who murder Jews are honored on all official Palestinian media outlets.

5. Palestinian Authority maps prepared for the Palestinian State depict all of Palestine under Palestinian rule

6. PA maps of Jerusalem for the Palestinian State once again delete the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem

7. Recent PA documents claim all of Jerusalem for the future Palestinian State.

8. The right of Jewish access to Jewish holy places is to be denied in the new Palestinian State.

9. The Draft Palestinian State Constitution denies juridical status to any religion except for Islam.

10. No system which protects  human rights or civil liberties will exist in a Palestinian State

Radical Islam: Israel and the West

The following is reproduced in full- with permission:

Radical Islam: Israel and the West

On February 16, 2010, The Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism (SICSA) at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem hosted a seminar featuring Prof. Bernard Lewis, a world expert in the field of Middle Eastern studies and Islam entitled “Radical Islam: Israel and the West.”

The exclusive seminar was moderated by Prof. Robert S. Wistrich, the Center’s director and a world expert on anti-Semitism.

Muslims and the West

Prof. Lewis began by explaining that “this is the first time in 1,000 years that the Muslim world is in charge of their own affairs.” In this post-Communist era, “the Russians can’t play a role, and the Americans don’t want to play a role.” This change has created a painful new awareness in the Muslim world and has raised questions regarding why Muslim countries have fallen behind the West. There seems to be two very different answers to this question.

The first approach claims that Western Imperialism is to blame. The supporters of this view place the blame squarely on the United States and Israel (“the ‘illegitimate offspring’ of the United States”), who they see as the face of Western Imperialism today. They believe that modernization is a betrayal of their Islamic heritage and the only solution is to return to authentic Islam, no matter the sacrifice. This is what radical Islam is claiming to be doing.

The second approach claims that the Muslim world has no one to blame but themselves for their current state of affairs. In other words, the Muslim countries haven’t fallen behind the West as a result of Western Imperialism but as a result of their own actions – it is a “self-inflicted condition.” Supporters of this view agree that the solution lies in the modernization of Muslim countries – no finger pointing, just hard work to make it happen.

Prof. Lewis summed it up as follows: “It is important to realize that the greatest tragedy of the Middle East is a result of reforms introduced in the Middle East by Arab and Muslim rulers, not Europeans in the 19th and 20th Centuries.”

Europe and Islam

Prof. Lewis also discussed the concern that Muslims may take over Europe. He pointed out that it is hard to address this issue because there aren’t any reliable statistics regarding the number of Muslims in Europe. However, one indication that this concern may be well-founded is a rise in the number of Muslim names being given to children, and in some European countries these names are now the most popular.

Historically, it is important to remember that the Muslims made two previous attempts to conquer Europe – the first was in the 7th Century and the second in the 19th Century. The third attempt, which we are witnessing today, seems to have a much better chance at success. This current conquest is being waged in the form of peaceful migration rather than military aggression. As such, it is that much harder for Europe to defend itself.

What (the Muslims) are saying in Europe is that they want the same rights that the Muslims granted Christians and Jews in the classic Muslim state. These seem to be very legitimate claims and they imply that Muslims in Europe aren’t looking to take over Europe, they just want to ensure their basic rights as citizens. “The only question remaining for us to answer regarding the future of Europe,” quipped Prof. Lewis, “is will it be an Islamized Europe or a European Islam?”

Iran

When asked about the current situation in Iran, Prof. Lewis was very optimistic. “The regime is extremely unpopular, there is a great desire for change and the prospect in Iran is encouraging.”

He explained that “the revolution has reached the Napoleon stage” and as such “we shouldn’t give Iran the gift of Patriotism.” We must be very careful not to slip into the trap of strengthening the resolve of the Iranian radicals by questioning their rights to Nuclear weapons, giving them a reason to unite their people from within.

Radical & Moderate Islam

One development that does concern Prof. Lewis is the growth of radical Islam in several Muslim countries. Saudi Arabia is the most extreme example (“Wahhabism is the official religion of Saudi Arabia at the present time.”) and Turkey is also showing signs of a change in ideology (“What is happening in Turkey is alarming as it appears to be the first successful attempt to undo the Kemalist Revolution.”).

The good news, however, is that not all Muslims or Arabs are extremists or Jihadists, and we must support and strengthen these moderates. Prof. Lewis pointed out that authentic Islam is not about violence (“Sharia law states not to harm non-combatants and that suicide in all forms is forbidden”.) and that moderates (i.e. “those who don’t make the headlines”) are more than willing to accept the modern world and the West.

This article was compiled by the staff of The Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism (SICSA) at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The Center (www.sicsa.huji.ac.il) is dedicated to an independent, non-political approach to the accumulation and dissemination of knowledge necessary for understanding the multi-faceted phenomenon of anti-Semitism.

Jews leave Swedish city after sharp rise in anti-Semitic hate crimes

by Speranza ( 228 Comments › )

Sweden’s third largest city (Malmo) is a hot bed of radical Islam.  I read (I do not know if it is true) that 1/3rd the population is Muslim and that even the police are afraid to go into certain areas. Combine that with an increasingly anti Semitic/anti Israel foreign policy along with appeasement of the unappeasable – well then the Jews of Sweden can hopefully see the writing on the wall.

by Nick Meo

Sweden’s reputation as a tolerant liberal nation is being threatened  by a steep rise in anti Semtic hate crimes in Malmo.

When she first arrived in Sweden after her rescue from a Nazi concentration camp, Judith Popinski was treated with great kindness

She raised a family in the city of Malmo, and for the next six decades lived happily in her adopted homeland – until last year

In 2009, a chapel serving the city’s 700-strong Jewish community was set ablaze. Jewish cemeteries were repeatedly desecrated, worshippers were abused on their way home from prayer, and “Hitler” was mockingly chanted in the streets by masked men.

“I never thought I would see this hatred again in my lifetime, not in Sweden anyway,” Mrs Popinski told The Sunday Telegraph.

“This new hatred comes from Muslim immigrants. The Jewish people are afraid now.”

Malmo’s Jews, however, do not just point the finger at bigoted Muslims and their fellow racists in the country’s Neo-Nazi fringe. They also accuse Ilmar Reepalu, the Left-wing mayor who has been in power for 15 years, of failing to protect them.

Andrew Sullivan Is an Anti-Semite

by Eliana ( 135 Comments › )
Filed under Anti-semitism, Barack Obama, Israel, Progressives at February 12th, 2010 - 2:30 pm

His recent protests to the contrary prove it.

Andrew Sullivan is incapable of seeing 500,000 Jewish men, women and children as human beings. He’s incapable of empathizing with them, certainly, but he can’t even see them as actual air-breathing people with beating hearts.

He has no trouble empathizing with “Palestinians” although up to 80% of the “Palestinians” have expressed support in polls for the murders of random Jews via suicide bombings at times. He feels their pain. His stone heart bleeds for the “Palestinians” and how they must feel to live near Israel. Poor babies and poor Andrew Sullivan who can only empathize with people in this conflict if their strategy is firing rockets into civilian towns in Israel and blowing up buses filled with dozens of random and purely innocent Israeli Jewish civilians whose lives are ended for the crimes of being Jewish and riding a bus.

Andrew Sullivan doesn’t care about Jewish lives.

In his February 10 blog post, he included a number of gushy, weepy descriptions of “Palestinians.” He described them as people “whose suffering and constant humiliation is indisputable.” He offered no empathetic descriptions of Israeli Jews in his blog post at all, of course.

He wrote about himself: “There will be times in which the emotion of the moment overwhelms me.”

Andrew, let your emotions get overblown somewhere other than on the internet.

In his post, he tried to justify his total lack of empathy and recognition of Jews as human beings by complaining about how he has been treated and explaining why he thinks he’s been reasonable about Israel in the last year:

I do not think it was unreasonable for the new president, with a unique chance to reset relations with the Muslim world, to ask an ally to make a gesture to freeze all settlement construction in order to bring credibility back to the US as an honest broker in the Middle East.

Does he know that he’s talking about interfering in the lives of 500,000 Jewish men, women and children in Judea and Samaria and in eastern, southern and northern Jerusalem? Who does he think lives in these areas? Blades of grass?

“Freezing all settlement construction” would mean that neighborhoods under construction would be abandoned to rot in the sun while the buyers (families) would lose their down payments and the approved mortgages for these homes would go into default. It would mean that a family with a new baby on the way would be prohibited from adding a room to their home for the new arrival. It would mean that families with balconies on their apartments couldn’t enclose them from the wind by turning them into sun rooms (which are very common in some communities).

It would mean that new schools couldn’t be built so that kindergartners would have to sit on each others laps with 60 children trying to learn in rooms designed for 30 children.

Hillary Clinton spoke directly about what President Obama was asking Israel to do. She said that “natural growth” must be stopped in these communities. As the Washington Times pointed out in a June 1, 2009 editorial, “The euphemism ‘natural growth’ refers to children.” Even old time Labor Party liberal Shimon Peres once asked if America expected Israel to put birth control medication in the water to prevent pregnancies and births in these communities.

Andrew Sullivan thinks it’s “reasonable” for a man who lives like a billionaire in Washington DC to be able to harm the lives of 500,000 Jewish men, women and children as if they don’t even exist. What would Obama get out of this? He would look good to the Arab world.

Of course! Harming half a million Jews is a good fit with the Arab world’s mindset.

Andrew Sullivan went on to say this:

I also believe for good measure that this is in the interests of Israel, if I am allowed to offer an opinion on the matter without being called out as a false friend of “the Jews”. I do believe that what Wieseltier himself delicately concedes were “blunt tactics” in Gaza, followed by a humiliation of president Obama in his first year of office were not the acts of a truly helpful ally of the US, especially when suspension of the settlement construction would have had zero effect on Israel’s security.

The 500,000 Jews in these communities don’t exist for this man (Sullivan) at all.

He goes on:

And I strongly disagree that when a struggle between a foreign country’s government and the newly elected president of the United States cripples the peace process, it is somehow the president of the United States’ fault.

It was the fault of the President of the United States to make impossible demands on the sovereign nation of Israel and announce them to the world without consulting Israel first. It was a colossally stupid thing to do. Obama changed the dynamics of the peace process by raising the bar on what the “Palestinian” negotiators believed they could demand from Israel before they ever set foot in a negotiating room with Israel again.

Obama’s demand also implied to the “Palestinians” that they can expect to have all their non-starter demands met by this President. They became so convinced of this that Mahmoud Abbas immediately settled into a stance where he was simply waiting for Obama to deliver Israel to him.

In a May 2009 interview with the Washington Post, Abbas explained:

Mahmoud Abbas says there is nothing for him to do…

Abbas and his team fully expect that Netanyahu will never agree to the full settlement freeze — if he did, his center-right coalition would almost certainly collapse. So they plan to sit back and watch while U.S. pressure slowly squeezes the Israeli prime minister from office. “It will take a couple of years,” one official breezily predicted. Abbas rejects the notion that he should make any comparable concession — such as recognizing Israel as a Jewish state, which would imply renunciation of any large-scale resettlement of refugees.

Instead, he says, he will remain passive. “I will wait for Hamas to accept international commitments. I will wait for Israel to freeze settlements,” he said. “Until then, in the West Bank we have a good reality . . . the people are living a normal life.” In the Obama administration, so far, it’s easy being Palestinian.

Andrew Sullivan, this is what killed the peace process and it was indeed Obama’s fault. The Arabs were already demanding a long list of non-starters that Israel can never agree to do. NOW they are demanding non-starter pre-conditions so that the parties may never make it into a room together while Obama is President.

Another outrageous and anti-Semitic argument from Sullivan comes later in his recent post:

To ask that Israel freeze all its settlement construction as a way to help facilitate peace is not declaring war on Netanyahu’s government. It is simply assuming the US is capable of determining its own foreign policy in the region without a foreign government’s advance permission.

Again, the 500,000 Jewish men, women and children don’t exist to him and he reduces Israel to a “foreign government” when it comes to the lives and well-being of Israel’s own citizens.

How would Americans react if another country announced that their OWN foreign policy position was to demand a total, permanent construction and pregnancy freeze in the State of California? Does Sullivan think that the United States government would become some “foreign government” trying to interfere if the U.S. stepped up to say that this would NOT be happening?

Sullivan then went on to whine as some sort of “victim” of Israel’s moves to protect their own citizens:

But all of this is always Obama’s failure because it can never be Israel’s fault because to say that anything is Israel’s fault is anti-Semitic. Lovely piece of circular logic there, innit? Unless and until the president of the US recognizes that policy toward the Middle East must always be subject to Israel’s interests and sensitivities before anything else, it is the American president’s failure. Israel can never be blamed.

When America’s foreign policy involves the personal lives and child-bearing rights of a population of 500,000 Jews — it is indeed the American President’s failure for believing that he can get away with doing this. Sullivan, name any country that would allow Obama to freeze part of their population’s construction and pregnancies indefinitely.

Again, Sullivan is a man with a stone cold heart that can’t begin to imagine that he’s talking about people’s lives. He sees himself as a victim for being exposed as an insensitive clod.

Andrew Sullivan is also an anti-Semite.

He sees Jews as objects to be stored and then moved at will when the Man Who Lives Like a Billionaire in Washington DC decides that he has found a way to look cool to the people who have spent 62 years either trying or dreaming of pushing the Jews into the sea. The “Palestinian” demands are designed to end Israel’s existence as a Jewish nation. They are designed to turn Israel into an Islamic country called “Palestine.” Israel is not at fault for refusing to commit national suicide.

The Israeli Jewish population is nearly 6 million people now.

Andrew Sullivan is an anti-Semite and NOT a victim of those who have noticed that he is colder than the recent blizzards in Washington DC when it comes to Israel and the Jewish people.

Confronting Jews who defame Jews

The phenomena of Jewish anti Semitism has been with us since there has been a Jewish people. Psychiatrists and political scientists may try to understand it, but the image of the turn coat or renegade Jew is all too real., For example, Martin Luther’s ideas for  terrorizing the Jews of Germany originated with a Jewish convert, Johannes Pfefferkorn; and that the myth of the Jewish world-conspiracy, which culminated in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, was promoted by a Russian Jewish author, Jacob Brafmann. The Pfefferkorns and the Brafmanns have been replaced by the Norman Finkelsteins  (a Hezbollah supporter) and Noam Chomskys. Sadly there are many Israeli Jews in academia, politics, and working at the newspaper Haaretz (Neve Gordon, Ilan Pappe, Amira Hass, Gideon Levy, Akiva Ledar, Avraham Burg) whose vitriol against their own country is gladly used by anti Semites (such as Andrew Sullivan) to give legitimacy to their notions of destroying Israel. Tony Judt a professor at New York University has written an infamous article about replacing the Jewish state with a bi-national state in The New York Review of Books (a bi-national state sure worked out well in Lebanon didn’t it?). The United Kingdom is loaded with Jewish anti Semites – Gerald Kaufman a big Labour party foreign policy man, Jacqueline Rose a lecturer, the late Harold Pinter (playwright) are among the most well-known. Karl Marx and Leon Trotsky were notorious for their anti Semitsm (and in Marx’s case – violently so).

The time has come to draw red lines between legitimate criticism and initiatives seeking to demonize Israel.

Richard Goldstone’s infamous role as the token head of the UNHRC report accusing the IDF of war crimes is only one example of prominent Jews who exploit their origins as a way to defame their people. In fact, until recently, Goldstone was considered a respectable Jew, even a Zionist. He was blinded by hubris and ego, and allowed himself to be seduced by the bitterest enemies of his people into providing legitimization for a blood libel against the Jewish state.

Unlike Goldstone, most Jewish renegades were driven by desperation to unburden themselves from what they regarded as their repressive ethnic and cultural roots. Historian Jacob Talmon described such deviant behavior as “a Jewish neurosis” in response to centuries of oppression and pariah status.

The purported commitment of these Jews to universal and humanitarian values was usually belied by extreme attacks on their own people and association with sponsors who were outright anti-Semites.

Streams of such Jews emerged during the 19th century in the wake of emancipation. A classic example was Karl Marx, whose anti-Semitic diatribes were reflected in outbursts like “money is the jealous god of Israel, by the side of which no other god may exist… The social emancipation of the Jew is the emancipation of society from Judaism.”

In czarist Russia, some Jewish social revolutionaries even endorsed pogroms against their own kinsmen, hoping that by venting their frustrations on Jews, the masses would ultimately turn on the czar.

Their successors, the Yevsektsiya, the notorious Jewish section of the Soviet Communist Party, became the most vicious persecutors of their own people, frenziedly suppressing all manifestations of Jewish cultural and religious life. Ultimately they too were liquidated in Stalin’s anti-Semitic campaigns.

Many Jews outside the Soviet Union joined the Communist Party out of a mistaken conviction that it represented the most effective way to combat Nazism. But once in the party, they became brainwashed, and applauded as the evil Soviet regime executed their kinsmen and institutionalized state-sponsored anti-Semitism.

AFTER THE Holocaust and the struggle to create the State of Israel, most Jewish anti-Semites hibernated. As the plight of Soviet Jewry became a rallying call uniting Jews throughout the world, the few remaining Jewish communists were marginalized.

Modern Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion, a genuine social democrat, appreciated the dangers posed by left-wing nihilists. He strove strenuously to neutralize the extremists and post-Zionists, who only became influential after his retirement and the end of Mapai-Labor Party hegemony.

Today, despite representing a small fringe, the disproportionate influence of anti-Zionist Jewish extremists in global campaigns demonizing Israel has reached an all-time high.

Ironically, the worst elements emanate from Israel.

Junk Science – It’s Not Just for Climate Any More

File this under “I kid you not!” Those damned Zionist Jews – they are responsible for all the ills of the world (including the heart break of psoriasis and Erectile Dysfunction). If it is not the Jews it is naturally Bush’s fault. These truly are Orwellian times we are living in, Palestinian society – one of the most brutal and degraded “societies” out there – which glorifies in “martyrdom” operations, is not the reason for female abuse, it is the “occupation”. (Sounds like Amira Hass is writing their P.R.) I suppose the honor killings going on in Pakistan and Iran are Israel’s fault too. The Lancet is a highly politicized left-wing organization and they are to be taken as seriously as a Keith Olbermann “Speshul Komment”.

-Speranza

Phillis Chesler has an article at PJM about her thing – Islam, Israel, and how they impact women in particular. This article is entitled: Appalled yet? Lancet Study Blames Palestinian Wife-Beating on Israel.

If you recall, this is the same Lancet that grossly exaggerated the civilian death count in Iraq, and then CRU-like, resisted inquiry. Their left-wing anti-American and anti-Israeli bent is beyond any reasonable doubt. But it takes a special chutzpah from hell to blame Israel for Palestinian domestic violence.

The post-colonial academy is itself thoroughly colonized by the false and dangerous ideas of Edward Said (please read my dear friend Ibn Warraq’s most excellent book Defending the West: A Critique of Edward Said’s Orientalism). However, I once believed that Said’s paranoid perspective had primarily infected and indoctrinated only the social sciences, humanities, and Middle East Studies. We now see his malign influence at work in a new article, just out today, by professors who work at the Department of Medicine at Harvard University; the Division of Epidemiology and Community Health at Minnesota University’s School of Public Health; The Boston University School of Medicine; the School of Nursing at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey; and at the School of Social Work and Social Welfare at Jerusalem’s Hebrew University.

Jaw hits floor. Not only are a lot of big names in medicine in on this, including Harvard Medical School, but the School of Social Work and Social Welfare at Jerusalem’s Hebrew University? Are they daft?

Please refer to Dr. Chessler’s critique of the study itself; I don’t have room here, and I defer to her expertise. But here’s the thing that should be alarming. This was a peer-reviewed study in the literature. Lancet is “the literature”, an it is a glaring example of how the literature itself can become corrupted by political pollution. Can you see now why peer review guarantees nothing in terms of integrity?

The Lancet researchers operated in exceedingly bad faith both academically and politically. For example, they write: “Occupation policies, including a separation barrier that is being erected in various parts of the West Bank, affect family connectedness, depriving women of regular contact with their families who might otherwise intervene to prevent intimate-partner violence.”

I won’t go off into what this has to do with the IPCC and the climate issue, because it’s both vast and obvious. Peer review doesn’t mean squat if the process, and the peer-reviewed journals themselves are corrupt. And this one stinks to high heaven, in a way that is a lot more intuitively obvious than with all of the climate esoterica. Same shiite, different issue.

And this isn’t the extent of politically motivated science. Radical feminism is notorious for nonsensical studies on the inherent inferiority of men. Of course, there’s the notorious Mearsheimer and Walt book The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy. And on and on it goes. If it’s academic, and it’s political, it’s probably both wrong and junk.

Yeah….About Those “Loyal” Israeli-Arab/Muslims….

Unfortunately, there are more of these “about those “loyal” Israeli-Arab/Muslims” Threads then there should be, but groups such as the EU, U.S., J-Street, AIPAC, and both the Republican and Democrat parties, etc., continue to push the lie that the Muslim/Arabs want something other than to destroy Israel, and that the the conflict is only about land, and concerning those living in Gaza and Judea and Samaria. (ie Arab/Muslims living within pre-1967 are loyal citizens.)

This time, the truth comes from none other than two Israeli-Arab/Muslim Members of Knesset – Jamal Zehalka (Balad) who informs the Israeli press that Tel Aviv is the Arab Village of Sheikh Munis!, and Taleb A-Sana who provided his cell phone to the freaks of “The Free Gaza Movement” to call Hamas.

The broadcast occurred on Thursday night, on the Erev Chadash (New Evening) program hosted by veteran broadcaster Dan Margalit and his younger co-host Ronen Bergman, and broadcast on Channel 1 and 23. Arab MK Jamal Zehalka (Balad) was their guest, and the discussion centered around that morning’s Arab protest against Israel. One Arab MK at the protest, Taleb A-Sana, used his cell phone to broadcast a live address to the rally by Hamas terrorist chief executive Ismail Haniye. Zehalka, for his part, said that Defense Minister Ehud Barak likes to listen to classical music and kill children, comparing him to a Nazi.

Zehalka told his interviewers that there is a “lack of knowledge among Israelis about the terrible situation in Gaza, and there is nothing wrong with Haniye expressing his opinion to the Israeli public.”

Luckily the interviewers this time weren’t having any of the Israel-Arab/Muslim MK’s propaganda…and a heated dialogue ensued.  After the Israel-Arab/Muslim MK stormed off the stage, the argument continued, and he finally made what was really in his heart clear – he dictated to the Jews how they should act, then called Tel Aviv muslim land.

Here is some of the back and forth (Bergman and Margalit are the Israeli Reporters):

Bergman: “Why don’t you protest against Egypt? If they would open their blockade of Gaza in Rafiach, there would be no humanitarian crisis there!”

Zehalka: “I support the Egyptian opposition’s protest against their government” [evoking sarcastic laughter by the interviewers] … We want to stop the suffering in Gaza, one must be totally obtuse in order not to see this.”

Margalit: “Not quite; Hamas has fired 8,000 rockets…”

Zehalka: “There were 1,400 dead Arabs and 400 children [in Cast Lead] [sic].”

Margalit: “Because Hamas fired rockets…”

Zehalka: “Ehud Barak listens to classical music and kills children!”

Margalit: “Yes, we’ve heard that, we’ve heard that. What chutzpah (gall, nerve — ed.) it takes to talk that way.”

Zehalka: “No, the chutzpah is the killing. Don’t say it is nerve.”

Margalit: “It is chutzpah.”

Zehalka (yelling): “Don’t you say chutzpah!”

Margalit: “I’ll say what I want, I don’t live in your [type of] country, I live in a democracy.”

Zehalka (yelling): “You talk as if you’re in the marketplace!”

Margalit: “I talk that way? You say that Barak is a murderer! You are chatzuf [cheeky, rude, disrespectful, from the same root as the Hebrew word chutzpah]!”

Zehalka (yelling): “Don’t call me chatzuf!”

Zehalka: “You’re a zero! You’re a mouthpiece for all the prime ministers, and you’re a court reporter! You’re a court reporter!”Margalit: “Yes, OK, Zehalka, you’re right, now get out of here. You don’t care about all the Kassams, now get out of here.”

Zehalka [still yelling from offstage]: “This is Sheikh Munis here!”…
Margalit [banging on the table]: “Aaah, now we see what you really want!  Now it’s clear! You want to conquer this from us too! Now we see the truth!”

Zehalka: “No, we want to live together! I was born here, you are an immigrant!

Margalit:”Oh, I’m an immigrant?” (Margalit was born in Tel Aviv in 1938)

More of the exchange, and historical background here.

We see here the true mind of an Israeli-Arab/Muslim Member of Knesset. Depite his full rights, and authority as a Member of Knesset, his loyalty is not to the Country he represents, and in which he lives, but to the Islamic Ummah. Like a true Islamist, he considers all of Israel “occupied Muslim land”, wishes for its destruction, and demands that the non-Muslims submit to his outlandish claims (dhimmihood).

This claims were not made by a lone, insane, poor, “extremist”….they were made by a Israeli Member of Knesset, while another Israeli Member of Knesset gives aid comfort, and access for propaganda purposes to Hamas – a groups whose central goal is the destruction of Israel.

During my 6 month stint as a member of Liberty Forest (RonPaulForums.com) I never saw any moderator or Admin taking issue with the premise of the following thread…namely, that questioning the existence of the Holocaust is a legitimate intellectual activity, and does not in any way indicate that one is an anti-semite.

Excuse me, but denying or trivializing the trauma imposed upon the Jewish people by the perpetration of the Holocaust, while at the same time insisting this evil mischief does not make one an antisemite is no different than a man who doubts the veracity of a given rape victims’s claim, said claims having been witnessed by an entire neighborhood who then testified under oath that the woman was indeed brutally raped, while at the same time claiming he means no disrespect to the woman, and is not in fact, a misogynist.

Yeah I know. It doesn’t say much for her neighbors either.

I now find many craters in this thread, with many of the worst comments having been removed by the mods. I did not take the time to check when those craters developed as I saved and updated my saves of this thread. Thus, sadly, I do not have the original version of the thread. What is left is, however, revealing enough.

Is International Policy On Jewish Presence In Judea & Samaria Racial Segregation?

It seems that the more you live, the more you realize that there is nothing new under the sun. This is ever so true with the canary-in-the-coal mine of the Jewish people, and their representative on the international stage; Israel. The amount of hypocrisy, and downright injustice of the American policy (especially recently) regarding the post-1967 Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria continues to be on display to the World, and yet they continue to choose the status quo of ignorant blindness.

While the entire world, lead by our President Obama is up in arms over “illegal building” in Judea and Samaria, -even going as far as to state that it is the number one problem stumbling block regarding “Middle East” peace, they are purposefully blind to the fact that Arab/Muslim illegal building continues at a remarkable pace.

No Inspectors to Enforce Illegal Building by Arabs

Although the issue of Jewish life in Judea & Samaria is often discussed, and debated among the talking heads throughout the world, none (or at least very few) are aware or willing to admit or discuss the horrible inequality, and injustice to the present “accepted norms” with this situation.

This is surprising however as what is going on regarding the treatment of the Jews in Judea & Samaria is very familiar to the World, and especially Americans. As some have argued, the continuing double standard, and willful blindness to the violations by the Muslim/Arabs within the world and specifically Judea and Samaria and the World’s “accepted norms” regarding their final solution is in actuality nothing short than an actual Apartheid policy and the implementation of racial segregation laws against he Jewish people reminiscent to the “separate but equal”, and other famous former Civil Rights problems within the United States.

Settlement freeze is like racial segregation in U.S. (from Haaretz if you can believe it!)

Once upon a time there was a black woman; her name was Rosa Parks. There were racially discriminating laws in the United States, but she continued to sit on the bus even when she was told to vacate her seat for a white person. She was arrested, which set off a process whose end saw the abolition of racial segregation on American buses. How is it possible that one little black woman, a dressmaker by profession, could change history simply because she remained sitting? Her protest was stronger than any demonstration, op-ed piece or Knesset vote. She opted for the natural choice; that is why she was triumphant.

My family and friends were outlawed. Why? Because we are building in the Land of Israel. After all the permits and approvals, in recognized and orderly settlements in which a third generation has already been raised, we woke up one morning to the humming of drones in the sky, taking pictures of us and the situation on the ground. It is forbidden to build. Not even a storeroom. Not a kennel. In certain places, it is even forbidden to add an air conditioner.

The freeze is an edict that the public cannot tolerate. It is not democratic, nor is it humane… But at its foundation, either intentionally or by accident, is pure and basic apartheid – it is forbidden for Jews to live in certain places. It is forbidden to build. It is forbidden to develop.

This author, although admittedly not eloquent, is right as these rules apply ONLY to Jews, and the excuses by the world for such treatment, and their excuses are not much different than when the U.S. claimed “separate but equal”. Then, as is the case as well now, the situation and laws applied are anything but “equal”, and as a result of the inherent injustice with the application of the laws the “separate” part only applies to the Muslim/Arab neighborhoods, as the Jews are forced to allow Muslim/Arab building, and inclusion, where the Muslim/Arab ones aren’t. A great example of this was the 2005 Expulsion of everything Jews in Gaza without any requirements or demands on the Muslim/Arabs within Israel, or within Gaza. This horrible segregation and double standard is still present today in the complete silence about the nearly complete Islamification of Gaza by the Islamist Hamas. The international communities policy on Israel is that it force Jews living in Judea & Samaria (and then, Gaza) to halt life, be stripped of all their rights, and be expelled yet they are completely silent regarding the Arab/Muslim populations within Israel or within Judea & Samaria. Similar to pre-Civil Rights America, the policies are directed at curtailing the existence of one racial group at the preference of another. In the U.S., the Black communities rights were curtailed while the Whites were given free reign.

In the context of Islamist doctrine (Sharia Law), the Caliphate, and dhimmihood, none of this really is surprising. As the Koran instructs, the Muslims are to have the superior (white/Muslim) role in society, and the infidel/dhimmi (Black/Jew) the inferior. The double standard and racial segregation methods of the presently used “peace process” where Muslims can live where ever they wish, build whatever they wish, and practice their religion openly and freely, but the Jews of Judea & Samaria cannot, only bolsters this understanding.

Further bolstering the argument that what we see today against the Jews of Judea & Samaria is nothing less than racial segregation are the stats as provided by the CIA Fact Book regarding the population of Gaza, Judea & Samaria, and Israel where Israel has a large minority of cultures, religions, ethnicities, and languages while Gaza and Judea & Samaria are nearly 100% “palestinian arab” and “Muslim” only.

There is a bit of irony to the fact that our President, raised in a Black Liberation Church, and who happens to identify with his Black heritage would be the leader of the new international Klan which has at its core -consciously or unconsciously – policies of racial segregation and our generations own “separate but equal” treatment but on an international scale.
