This ad may have backfired a bit: some commenters on YouTube prefer the kittens to the T-shirt.

Update: Zimmerman has been found not guilty.

(CNN) — George Zimmerman is not guilty of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, a Florida jury decided late Saturday.

The fact that Zimmerman fired the bullet that killed Martin was never in question, but the verdict means the six-person jury had reasonable doubt that the shooting amounted to a criminal act.

The verdict caps a case that has inflamed passions for well over a year, much of it focused on race and gun rights.

The six-person jury — all women — had three choices: to find Zimmerman guilty of second-degree murder; to find him guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter; or to find him not guilty.

The jurors deliberated for 16½ hours total, including 13 on Saturday alone, before delivering their verdict.

When he learned his fate, a subdued Zimmerman had little visible reaction.

Justice has been served.

I love rural hand-painted highway signs that are spelled correctly and get right to the point, like this one. (Note that the pavement is blackened from all the cars screeching to a stop upon spotting this effective advertisement).

And speaking of roadtrips, at the sign post up ahead, next stop is

Reminds me of a small town I lived in for a while.  It was so small that the dentist and the proctologist was the same guy. It didn’t bother us much, we just scheduled our dental appointments for first thing in the morning. (Okay, I stole that joke from Pinkard & Bowden, but so what?)

So bend over and say “Ahh” because everyone has a scheduled appointment with

Three  guys were sitting around bragging about the best bar they’d ever been to.

Gus: “The best bar? I know a place that for every beer you buy, the bartender gives you a free shot.”

Walter: “That’s nothing. In my neighborhood there’s a bar that does the same, and they have a free all-you-can-eat buffet, too.”

Killgore: “Heh. I know of a better place. Free dinner and all you can drink, and at 10PM they take you into the back room and you get laid.”

The other guys’ eyes got wide in disbelief. “No way. You’ve been there?”
Killgore: “No, but my sister has.”

Badump-Quiche. And with that we’re off and running on The Overnight Open Thread.

Luscious, Tempting and Appealing.

“Guys! Check it out! Babs just showed up with a Tootsie Roll and she’s chewing it! Dump your skanky dates, you’re missing the best part! Man oh man, look at her go!”

True Fact: Tootsie Roll, see, is the life of every party… for wherever Young America gathers… Its popularity is acclaimed by all.

Acclaimed by all 13 dweebs in the advert, that is. The next best thing, besides watching Babs seductively remove her fillings with a chewy brown phallus-shaped wad of sugar, corn syrup, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, condensed milk, cocoa, whey, soy lecithin, orange extract, and artificial and condensed flavors, is an Overnight Open Thread.

There’s a lot of talent standing on that crate, but I have no idea who he is, what he’s painting, or why. Although the slices of porkroastraisinbread don’t match the marbling of the cuts, I don’t think I’d have the heart to tell him. There’s always the remote possibility that after all that work he might become despondent, down a bottle of cheap sherry and step in front of a trolley. Then where would we be?

There’d be one less porkroastraisinbread illustrator in the world, and we’d all discuss it on an Overnight Open Thread.

There has been much discussion regarding the Ads being shown at the blog Little Green Footballs. One of the repeated claims by the blog runner there is that they are random, and thus he cannot control the ads to Glenn Beck, or Muslim outreach. Odd that others don’t seem to be having this problem. (at least that I know of)

Here however are the links provided by LGF regarding their “Premium Ads“, and their “Standard Ads“.

You decide the truth.

So now if you must, go forth and enjoy this Open Thread.  It is recommended that all discussion regarding the goings on at LGF be contained to this thread.  Thank you.
