Kuwaiti women MPs refuse to wear hijab in parliament
In Kuwait, the issue has arisen as part of a campaign by Dr Dashti, one of the country’s leading economists as well as a women’s rights activist and politician, against what she regards as unconstitutional implementation of sharia. As with all four women MPs, she has a doctorate from the United States.When electoral law was changed in 2005 to allow women in Kuwait to vote and stand for parliament, Islamists inserted a law-minute rider that “women as voters and MPs” would have to follow sharia. It did not specify precisely where or how.
Three Islamist MPs immediately protested when Dr Dashti and a second MP, Aseel Al-Awadhi, turned up at the Assembly without a hijab, the simple head-scarf that covers the hair and is compulsory for women in public in Saudi Arabia and Iran but optional across most Gulf nations.
One MP sought a ruling from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, whose “fatwa department” last week decreed that hijab was an obligation for Muslim women, without referring directly to the electoral law.

URUMQI, China (Reuters) – At least 140 people have been killed in rioting in China’s northwestern Xinjiang region, with the government blaming exiled separatists for the traditionally Muslim area’s worst case of unrest in years.
Hundreds of people have been arrested, the official Xinhua news agency said, after protestors from the Uighur minority took to the streets of the regional capital on Sunday, burning and smashing vehicles and shops, and clashing with anti-riot police.

North Korea keeps firing Missiles

The North Koreans who really are backed by China, keep testing Missles. Obviously they are doing this for a reason. They view Obama as weak and China is sending us a message.
YEONPYEONG, South Korea, May 29 (Reuters) – North Korea test-fired another short-range missile off its east coast on Friday and said it would take more “self-defence measures” if the U.N. Security Council punished it for this week’s nuclear test.
South Korea said an increasingly aggressive North may be preparing fresh moves after Chinese fishing boats were spotted leaving a disputed sea border on the west coast.
North Korea can get away with this because they know the Left in America will help them. Also China is tired of lending us money and this could be a way of letting Obama know that China could make things ugly for us.
I blame Clinton for giving the North Koreans money and his giving Chian access to our capital markets. I blame Bush for his defecit spending and borrowing from China to fiance our debt. I blame Obama for making our deficit and debt worst.
This is all related and its a game being done by China, to show us who’s boss.

China now is dictating to us economic policy. They actually are correct in this, printing more money is not a good. The only reason the Chinese are concerned is because of their dollar invested in the United States.

Richard Fisher, president of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank, said: “Senior officials of the Chinese government grilled me about whether or not we are going to monetise the actions of our legislature.”
“I must have been asked about that a hundred times in China. I was asked at every single meeting about our purchases of Treasuries. That seemed to be the principal preoccupation of those that were invested with their surpluses mostly in the United States,” he told the Wall Street Journal.

Taiwan falling into China’s lap

This is very interesting development going on. The current President of Taiwan, Ma Ying-jeou is forging closer ties with China. Although it is good that tensions in the Taiwan straights maPresident May have died down, this development has strategic consequences.
On Wednesday, Ma Ying-jeou marked his first anniversary as president of Taiwan by calling his initial year “fruitful.” And he had just cause for doing so. His most notable accomplishment so far has been a marked improvement in relations between the island republic and China. “In one year, we have transformed the strait from a dangerous flashpoint to a conduit of peace and prosperity,” he told reporters in Taipei.
Last month, Taipei and Beijing, which both claim to govern “China,” entered into historic agreements covering financial cooperation, regularly scheduled flights and judicial and law enforcement ties. That’s on top of deals signed in June 2008. All told, there have been nine pacts inked with Beijing during Ma’s first year.
This could alter the balance of power in Asia. At this rate China can buy Taiwan, thanks to all the money they made off us. We need to keep an eye on the Dragon.
China’s growing Empire

China’s reach and influence continues to grow. The recent events in Sri Lanka showed how China backs its allies. The Sri Lankan government crushed the Tamil rebels and the world didn’t say much. This was because China backed them and the media was kept out. China also will make sure that no Sri Lankan officials will be prosecuted for war crimes.

Chinese Communist Party leaders are not normally associated with absentmindedness, but rather with cool, calculated, long-term strategic thinking. Yet China might well now be building a mixture of influence and obligation – the modern version of an empire- in quite a British way, and one that promises to cause increasing tension with its giant neighbour and regional rival, India.
Events in Sri Lanka, as that nation finally brings an end to a quarter-century-long civil war, are the latest example of China’s growing overseas reach. The victory of the Sri Lankan Government was assisted by the supply of arms from China, especially fighter jets, as The Times revealed on May 2, while the Chinese are also building a spanking new port on the southern coast of the country, which the Chinese Navy will be able to use for refuelling and repairs.
As much as many here don’t like China, I must say I respect the. They defend their interests and allies. They don’t care about world opinion and allow their allies to do what they want. I wish America had China’s foreign policies. We back stab our allies to placate our enemies. Its really sad that a Fascist regime like China is a more reliable friend than America.
Is It Time To Dump Pakistan?

Ralph Peters has an excellent article about how the US should stop giving aid to Pakistan. I agree, Pakistan isn’t our friend and supports Islamists. The are a lost cause and our Tax money is better spent on home that that cesspool.
A better strategy’s obvious. But Washington has trouble with the obvious. At our pathetic State Department, habit trumps innovation every time. And the Pentagon can’t seem to see beyond the immediate battlefield.
What should we do? Dump Pakistan. Back India.
Washington’s deep thinkers will cry, “But China might move in!”
If China wants Pakistan, let Beijing have it. That would be fun to watch. Take on the Taliban? Given China’s ghastly ineptitude in dealing with its Uighur Muslims, more power to ‘em.
I agree, let China deal with Pakistan. It is better for us to ally with India. They are more similar to us in values and aren’t backstabbers. They also are fighting Islamo-Fascism but it is a no brainer. The problem is that Muslims have too much influence on the American government. This is why the US makes dumb mistakes that later come to haunt us. Pakistan is a waste we should cut them off.

This is an under reported story. China and Russia are conducting Cyber spying on America. This is a serious risk that needs to be discussed.

AMERICA needs to pay a heckuva a lot more atten tion to the cyberthreat. Now.
Sure, the Pentagon is refuting a Wall Street Journal report last week that hackers pinched loads of data on the military’s newest, high-tech fighter aircraft from contractors’ computer networks via the Internet.
But even if the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program wasn’t actually penetrated by cyberspies, it’s still a chilling wake-up call for the United States.
However, the Pentagon seems to be finally getting serious.
Government rumblings, such as Defense Secretary Robert Gates‘ creation of a Pentagon cybercommand, may hold some promise in protecting military networks, but the cyberthreat clearly exceeds that.
At least Def. Sec. Robert Gates knows this is a threat. I salute his alertness and wish the Pentagon luck. Securing our information systems structure is vital to our security.

If you want to see why the Right is in trouble, it is articles like this one. As is known the American IT industry has been decimated by India and China. Our companies no longer want high skilled American workers. Instead they want to outsource to India or enemies like China, or bring in more Indians and Chinese with the H-1B Visas. This has led to decreased wages and lower standard of living that has contributed to this economic crisis of course this Globalist/Free Trader doesn’t grasp this.
We Need an Immigration Stimulus
The pace of lower-skilled migration has slowed due to higher unemployment. This could make it less contentious to ease the path to legalization for the 12 million undocumented workers and their families in the U.S. It’s also a good time to ask why we turn away skilled workers, including the ones earning 60% of the advanced degrees in engineering at U.S. universities. It is worth pointing out the demographic shortfall: Immigrants are a smaller proportion of the U.S. population than in periods such as the late 1890s and 1910s, when immigrants gave the economy a jolt of growth.
Immigrants have had a disproportionate role in innovation and technology. Companies founded by immigrants include Yahoo, eBay and Google. Half of Silicon Valley start-ups were founded by immigrants, up from 25% a decade ago. Some 40% of patents in the U.S. are awarded to immigrants. A recent study by the Kauffman Foundation found that immigrants are 50% likelier to start businesses than natives. Immigrant-founded technology firms employ 450,000 workers in the U.S. And according to the National Venture Capital Association, immigrants have started one quarter of all U.S. venture-backed firms.
This is all BS. H-1 B visas lower wages and squeeze Native Born Americans out of Hi-Tech jobs. This leads to lack of native born which is dangerous. By doing this, this discourages Americans from getting involved in these industries.
I favor Immigration, but not the type that destroys the well being of Americans like the H-1B Visa program. Globalization has destroyed America, why keep going down a dead end path. We have plenty of talent here, let us use it!

I stand for the Traditional Judeo-Christian/Greco-Roman Culture of America/Europe/Latin America/Israel/Phillipines. However when it comes to economics, I stand with the Populist side of the economic debate. I support free markets but not Corporatism/Free Trade/Globalization. That is where I stand. I put National interests above Corporate interests.

The North Koreans act the way they want for one reason. They are backed by China and know, their big brothers will defend them. Korea has traditionally been Chinese territory or under influence. They view North Korea as a buffer state to Japan and the US.

And who is going to stop him, now that his long-range rocket can hit parts of the American West Coast? At least in theory. During the recent test, it took him days to prepare the vehicle on its launch pad. During the takeoff there were once more problems with the liquid fuel system and the guidance configuration.
If this were for real, it would not have the least chance to survive a pre-emptive strike by America or Japan, which saw the launch as a dreamed opportunity to test some of their new military hardware and joint command facilities. North Korea might have its rocket, but it is still a decade away from the kind of nuclear deterrence that would frighten its rivals.
It is China that is most badly damaged by the fallout of North Korea’s nuclear nationalism. For years it has been preaching restraint and arguing that Kim Jong Il could be brought to other thoughts via silent diplomacy. It invested a lot in the six party talks and seized it as an opportunity for proving its role as a responsible regional broker.

American need to realize that Free Trade/Globalization is being used by China as a means to an end. They don’t care about trade treaties, they care only about power. Many people are blinded by the fact China doesn’t play by our rules. Trade means nothing compared to national pride.
This is another example of how Free Trade/Globalization has had negative effects on America. Our economy is in the tanks and our enemies have become stronger. China is one of the winners of this Free Trade system. America is clearly one of the losers. Yet our elites whether Right or Left keep wanting more Globalization. Makes you wonder why?

Electricity Grid in U.S. Penetrated By Spies
WASHINGTON — Cyberspies have penetrated the U.S. electrical grid and left behind software programs that could be used to disrupt the system, according to current and former national-security officials.
The spies came from China, Russia and other countries, these officials said, and were believed to be on a mission to navigate the U.S. electrical system and its controls. The intruders haven’t sought to damage the power grid or other key infrastructure, but officials warned they could try during a crisis or war.
“The Chinese have attempted to map our infrastructure, such as the electrical grid,” said a senior intelligence official. “So have the Russians.”

Report: Chinese Develop Special “Kill Weapon” to Destroy U.S. Aircraft Carriers
With tensions already rising due to the Chinese navy becoming more aggressive in asserting its territorial claims in the South China Sea, the U.S. Navy seems to have yet another reason to be deeply concerned.
After years of conjecture, details have begun to emerge of a “kill weapon” developed by the Chinese to target and destroy U.S. aircraft carriers.
First posted on a Chinese blog viewed as credible by military analysts and then translated by the naval affairs blog Information Dissemination, a recent report provides a description of an anti-ship ballistic missile (ASBM) that can strike carriers and other U.S. vessels at a range of 2000km.
The range of the modified Dong Feng 21 missile is significant in that it covers the areas that are likely hot zones for future confrontations between U.S. and Chinese surface forces.
China is not a friend of America and is not to be trusted. the DF-21 is actually a Intermediate Ballistic Missile. They have now transformed it into a long range guided Missile. I do not trust China and we should not let our guard down with them. Just because they are connected with us economically doesn’t mean they would not pull the trigger.
