Called upon to undertake the duties of the first executive office of our new Blogmocracy, we avail ourselves of the presence of that portion of our fellow-citizens which is here assembled to express our grateful thanks for the favor which you have been pleased to look toward us, to declare a sincere consciousness that the task is above our talents, and that we approach it with those anxious and awful presentiments which the greatness of the charge and weakness of our powers so justly inspire.
Insofar that we are fully aware of our calling to push forth on this endeavor in the name of liberty, and those precious freedoms bestowed upon all citizens by the Holy Creator, we extend our hand in brotherhood to our cherished masses. In furtherance of this goal, I look to you then, ladies and gentlemen, who are charged with being the first pioneers, and to those associated with you. I look with encouragement for your guidance and support which may enable us to steer with safety the vessel in which we are all embarked amidst the conflicting elements of a troubled world.
It is with this charge that we declare that unlike other blogging enterprises we are a Blogmocracy, and as such ask -ney, cherish, your insights and comments, and encourage our citizenry to plainly “tell us how to run our blog”. And according to such desire, we ask that you engage your suffrage and take this opportunity to vote by contacting us at Blogmocracy@gmail.com, and allow us, your humble servants within this noble Blogmocracy, to hear what you desire, and all other suggestions you have for this grand endeavor.
The approbation implied by your suffrage is a great consolation to us for the past, and our future solicitude we be to retain the good opinion of those who have bestowed it in advance, to conciliate that of others by doing them all the good in our power, and to be instrumental to the happiness and freedom of all.
Relying then, on the patronage of your good will, we advance with obedience to the work. And may that Infinite Power which rules the destinies of the universe lead our councils to what is best, and give them a favorable issue for your peace and prosperity.
